SALEM HIGH SCHOOL
Silver stood in the hallway, looking at the bulletin board. Tentatively, she wrote her name on one of the pieces of paper pinned on it. Sydney walked up.
SYDNEY: Hey.
SILVER: Hi. What’s up?
SYDNEY: Not much. You?
SILVER: Oh, I was looking over the bulletin board. The flier for the Last Blast’s up already.
SYDNEY: Oh, cool. They’re getting that up nice and early.
SILVER: Yeah. I was wondering…did you wanna go? You can totally say no, if you don’t want to.
SYDNEY: No, I do wanna go. As friends.
SILVER: Right, that’s what I meant, as friends.
SYDNEY: Good. ‘Cause that’d be awesome.
SILVER: Totally. There’s also a sign up sheet for the talent show at the end of the year.
SYDNEY: Nice! Did you sign up?
SILVER: Yep. Are you going to?
SYDNEY: Probably not. I don’t really have a talent, as such. I’m actually gonna be helping out behind the scenes. The drama teacher, Mrs. Schuler, she asked for volunteers the other day after class, and I volunteered.
SILVER: Oh, cool.
SYDNEY: Yeah, so I’ll be there. What are you doing for the show?
SILVER: I haven’t decided for sure yet, but I think I’m gonna sing something. I’ve been writing a song recently and…I don’t know, I thought I might give it a try.
SYDNEY: That’s awesome! If you need someone to practice on, I’m totally down for that!
SILVER: Thanks, I might take you up on that.
The bell noting that there was one minute until the next class begins rang.
SYDNEY: We should get to lunch.
SILVER: Sounds good.
HORTON HOUSE
Bill and Mike hugged.
BILL: Thank you for coming.
MIKE: Of course. As soon as Aunt Marie told us, we got on the next flight over.
ROBIN: We’re so sorry for your loss, Bill.
BILL: Thank you.
Jennifer walked down the stairs.
JENNIFER: Mike! Robin!
MIKE: Hey, sis.
Jennifer hugged Mike and Robin.
JENNIFER: It’s so good to see you both.
ROBIN: We just wish it were under better circumstances.
JENNIFER: Yes, that is very true. But, it’s good that you’re here. When did you get in?
MIKE: Just a little bit ago.
Upstairs, in her room, Lily and Addie were looking at Lily’s laptop.
LILY: What about this one?
ADDIE: Yes, definitely add that one.
Lily clicked the mouse.
ADDIE: And I think that should be good.
LILY: Great. Thanks for the help, Auntie.
ADDIE: Of course. Thank you for helping your mother and I put this together.
LILY: No problem. It was nice getting to look at all these old pictures with the two of you. I’m sure the slideshow will look nice tomorrow.
ADDIE: I’m sure it will.
Down in the kitchen, Marie took a tray of doughnuts out of the oven. There was a knock at the door.
MARIE: Just a second!
She set the doughnuts down, took off the oven mit and opened the door.
JESSICA: Hi, Mom!
MARIE: Jessica! Oh, darling, I’m so glad you came!
JOSHUA: Of course we did. Hey, Ma.
MARIE: Josh.
Marie gave Jessica and Joshua a hug.
MARIE: Did you have a nice flight?
JESSICA: Yeah, it was good.
JOSHUA: And it looks like we arrived at just the right time.
MARIE: You certainly did! I just took the first batch of doughnuts out of the oven, and they’ve had a minute to cool off, they will, of course, need to be taste tested.
JESSICA: I’m sure they’re perfect, Mom. You learned from the best.
MARIE: Thank you, darling.
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Maggie hugged Nathan.
MAGGIE: It’s so good to see you!
NATHAN: You too, Grandma.
MELISSA: Hey, little sis.
SARAH: Hey, big sis.
Melissa and Sarah hugged.
NATHAN: Aunt Sarah.
SARAH: Hey, kid.
Sarah hugged Nathan.
MAGGIE: I am so glad that you were both able to make it.
MELISSA: Us, too.
NATHAN: Yeah. After finally meeting him properly at the Horton reunion a few years ago, Great-Uncle Tommy and I talked about medicine from time to time.
SARAH: Same here.
MAGGIE: Well, I know that he was proud of the both of you.
Elle walked in.
ELLE: Hi, sissy.
SARAH: Hey. Look who’s here.
ELLE: Hey, Melissa!
MELISSA: Oh my gosh! Noelle?
ELLE: Yep, it’s me.
MELISSA: Oh, man! I think the last time I saw you, you were about this big.
Melissa put her hand a few feet off the ground. Elle chuckled.
ELLE: Yeah, it’s been a long time. It’s good to see you again.
MELISSA: You too! This is my son, Nathan. Nathan, this is your Aunt Sarah’s sister, Noelle.
ELLE: You can just call me Elle. Nice to meet you.
NATHAN: You too.
