PENTHOUSE GRILLE
Philip r
Aised his glass.
PHILIP: Here’s to us, Mrs. Kiriakis.
BELLE: To us.
Belle and Philip clinked glasses and took a drink.
BELLE: I’m glad we decided to come out tonight.
PHILIP: Yeah, me too. It’s been a whi
Le since we’ve done something like this. Too long, in my opinion.
BELLE: I agree.
PHILIP: Plus, this’ll be our last chance to have some time for just the two of us for a couple weeks. I talked to Mimi this af
Ternoon, and she reminded me that, starting this weekend, we’ve got Tyler.
BELLE: Oh, right. It’ll be so nice to see him again!
Philip nodded.
PHILIP: Yep. Despite all of the initial craziness, we were able to work things out. It’s hard to b
Elieve the kid’ll be going to college in a few months!
BELLE: I know, it’s crazy. Though, it kind of makes me think about…you know…
Philip sighed and took Belle’s hand.
PHILIP: I know. I miss he
R, too.
Meanwhile, Shawn-D and Jan walked in. They stopped when they saw Belle and Philip at their table.
SHAWN-D: Maybe we should go someplace else.
JAN: Shawn, it’s fine.
SHAWN-D: I mea
N, we could go to the Blue Note or Tuscany.
JAN: Shawn, we promised each other that we would come here. We’re not gonna chicken out just because they’re here.
Shawn-D took a deep breath.
SHAWN-D: Can you promise you’ll behave?
JAN: Of course I will.
The host w
Alked over and showed Shawn-D and Jan to their seats.
JAN (thinking): I’ll behave if she does.
As it happens, their seat was a few tables away from Philip and Belle’s. This hadn’t gone unnoticed.
BELLE (under her breath): Grea
T.
Philip turned around and saw where Belle was looking.
PHILIP: Just ignore them. This doesn’t have to be an issue.
BELLE: I don’t plan to make it one.
PHILIP: Good.
Philip and Bell
E kissed.
BELLE (thinking): As long as she doesn’t.
PHILIP: I’ll be back in a couple minutes.
BELLE: I’ll be here.
Philip got up from the table and went to the restroom. After taking care of b
Usiness, he was washing his hands, when Shawn-D came in. They stared at each other for a moment.
PHILIP: Shawn.
SHAWN-D: Philip.
PHILIP: You look well.
SHAWN-D: Tha
Nks.
PHILIP: Just out of curiosity, have you stopped by the cemetery lately?
SHAWN-D: I did. This morning, actually. I saw the abundance of flowers. They looked nice. Your doing, I presume?
PHILIP: Glad you lIke them. Nothing’s too good for my girl.
SHAWN-D: Except she’s not really your g
Irl, is she? She never was. Claire was my daughter. But I didn’t know that until it was too late.
SHAWN-D & JAN’S HOUSE
SHAWNA: You’re not serious!
ALLIE: I am totally serious! He actually said that!
The girls giggled and took another swig from their wine bottles, which had significantly less in them now. They had switched from “Truth or Dare” to “Ne
Ver Have I Ever”. Their cheeks were slightly flushed.
SHAWNA: Okay, your turn.
Allie hiccuped slightly and thought.
ALLIE: Never have I ever…drank wine before tonight.
Shawna took a drink.
ALLIE: Really? Wh
En?
SHAWNA: A few times. My Mom let me have some on New Year’s Eve this year.
ALLIE: Wow. My parents would never let me drink. They’re gonna kill me if they find out about this.
SHAWNA: Well, we just won’t let them find out, then.
ALLIE: Deal.
She took another d
Rink.
ALLIE: Your turn.
SHAWNA: Never have I ever had a crush on a relative.
Allie took a drink. Shawna’s eyes widened.
SHAWNA: Really? Who?
ALLIE: I can’t tell you, it’s too embarra
Ssing!
SHAWNA: You have to tell me, it’s the rules of the game! Besides, if you don’t, you have to finish your drink.
ALLIE: It’ll just be super awkward!
SHAWNA: I’m not gonna tell them you told me. Just spit it out.
Alli
E gulped down the rest of her drink.
ALLIE: Can we play a different game now?
SHAWNA: Sure. Just, refill the drinks first.
ALLIE: You got it!
ABE’S HOUSE
There was a knock at the door. Abe opened it to find Celeste on the other side.
ABE: Well, this is a pleasant surprise!
CELESTE: Abraham, thank goodness you’re home!
Abe and Celeste hugged.
ABE: Of course I am. I’m sorry, we just weren’t expecting you. How are you?
CELESTE: Physically, I am well. However, I had a vision last night, and since I had it, I knew I had to come and see you right away.
ABE: I see. Well, you’re welcome anytime. Please, take a seat.
Abe took Celeste’s coat and hung it up while Celeste sat down at the kitchen table.
ABE: Can I get you anything to drink?
CELESTE: No thank you, darling.
Abe sat down across from Celeste.
ABE: So, what kind of grave danger is Salem in now?
Celeste’s eyes narrowed.
CELESTE: My visions are not always about grave danger, Abraham. I will admit, it might be a recurring theme, but it’s not nearly as regular as some may think.
ABE: My apologies. What’s going on?
CELESTE: This vision, darling, it was not at all like my usual ones. It was much less clear than they typically are. It worked in a much more figurative sense.
ABE: I see. Perhaps you could describe it to me.
CELESTE: I shall do my best.
WOMAN: Honey, who are you talking to?
ABE: Come into the kitchen and see for yourself! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Celeste’s eyes widened when she heard the voice.
CELESTE: Abraham, who-?
Lexie walked into the kitchen.
LEXIE: Mom! It’s so good to see you! We didn’t know you were coming to Salem!
Celeste stood up and gasped. She put one hand on Lexie’s face and the other on her shoulder.
CELESTE: Alexandra? Alexandra, is it really you?
LEXIE: Of course it’s me. Mom, what’s going on? Is everything alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.
CELESTE: That is exactly what I would like to know. What is going on here?
