PALACE VON AMBERG
Sophie chuckled.
SOPHIE: Miles, how many of those complimentary champagnes have you had?
MILES: None! Well, okay, I had one. But I’m serious. I just saw Princess Gina.
SOPHIE: My dear husband, Princess Gina is dead.
MILES: How do you explain that, then?
Miles pointed to several rows in front, where Hope was talking with Aiden, Ciara and Trix.
SOPHIE: Bless me!
MILES: You see what I mean?
SOPHIE: But she can’t be, can she? Auntie Lili said she was dead.
MILES: Auntie Lili also said Katalin and Emmaline were our cousins. Perhaps she’s no longer a reliable source.
SOPHIE: But why hide something like this? And if that is Princess Gina, and she is hiding, it doesn’t make any sense for her to be here. I mean, I’ve heard of hiding in plain sight, but this is just ridiculous!
MILES: Your guess is as good as mine, dear wife. Perhaps if we wait long enough, we’ll find out.

Nicholas shook hands with a man who was about the same age as him, but with dark blonde hair.
MAN: Good to see you, old man!
NICHOLAS: And you. It’s been far too long. This is my date Cassie Brady. Cassie, this is my cousin, Lord Sebastian Alamain.
SEBASTIAN: Pleasure to meet you.
CASSIE: You too.
Cassie extended her hand, which Sebastian took, and kissed. He then gestured to the woman next to him.
SEBASTIAN: Nicky, you remember my wife, Lady Willa, yes?
NICHOLAS: Of course. Nice to see you again, Willa.
WILLA: And you.
Nicholas and Willa kissed on both cheeks.
NICHOLAS: The three of us went to the same boarding school. We had some good times, didn’t we, Bash?
SEBASTIAN: We certainly did! So, how’s cousin Vivian?
VIVIAN: Why not ask her yourself?
Sebastian turned to see Vivian and Ivan behind him.
SEBASTIAN: Why, cousin Vivian! Lovely to see you after all this time! You’ve not changed a bit!
VIVIAN: Nor have you. You’re still terrible at lying.
Sebastian chuckled.
SEBASTIAN: No hard feelings about the election, eh?
CASSIE: Election?
NICHOLAS: There was an election in Alamainia last year, the first time in recent history anyone’s run against Aunt Viv. Sebastian won, hence his and Willa’s titles of Lord and Lady.
VIVIAN: No, of course not, Bash. Especially considering it was rigged.
Sebastian’s face faltered for a moment.
SEBASTIAN: Cousin Vivian, you wouldn’t be implying that I cheated, would you?
VIVIAN: Oh, heavens no! I’m telling you that I did. Come now, Sebastian, do you honestly believe that of the two of us, the country actually chose you? Dear boy, I thought you were smarter than that.
IVAN: Madame, we should be finding our seats. The ceremony is about to begin.
VIVIAN: Of course. We’ll catch up more later, Bash, Nicky.
Vivian glanced at Cassie for a brief moment before she turned and walked away with Ivan on her arm.

Winston the butler walked to the front of the room and cleared his throat into the microphone.
WINSTON: If you would all be so kind as to take your seats, the ceremony is about to begin.

I never even knew there was a Sebastián Alamain nor that he even had a wife but it seems new branches of the Alamain family are being explored

I have a feeling Princess Gina will return

I knew it. Miles is mistaking Hope for Gina. Let's hope it stays that way.

Vivian's interactions with Sebastian were interesting. I'm sure we haven't heard the end of this election controversy.

Vivian surely has something planned.

I had a feeling Hope would be called Gina while she was in Europe.

I love the nickname Bash! I had not thought much about it until I watched Reign and turned out that "Bash" on there ended up being my favorite character.

Tuesday - 1/11

PALACE VON AMBERG

Several dignitaries and royal personages from around the world filed into the room and took their seats. Hope, John and several others recognized many of them from Greta’s coronation, though some were new to them. As each came in, they were announced by Winston.

Just outside of the throne room stood Katalin, Medbh, Emmaline and a boy around her age. Katalin took a deep breath.
KATALIN (whispering): I’m a little nervous.
Medbh linked her arm in Katalin’s.
MEDBH: You’ll be grand, love.
She kissed Katalin’s cheek. The door opened, and the doorman nodded to Katalin and Medbh. They began walking forward to the throne at the end of the room.
WINSTON: Lady Katalin Von Amberg and Lady Medbh Ó Catháin.
Claire put her hand on Chase’s arm.
CLAIRE (whispering): This is beautiful!
Chase nodded. Katalin and Medbh got to the front of the room and tuned. Medbh took a seat in the second row while Katalin stayed standing. The door opened again, and Emmaline walked in with the boy from earlier on her arm.
WINSTON: Lady Emmaline Von Amberg and Sir Andrin Grimaldi.
Katalin and Emmaline smiled at each other. When they reached the front of the room, Andrin went to his seat. Emmaline stood shoulder-to-shoulder with her sister. The music died down, and Winston motioned for everyone to stand, which they did. Another piece of music began as the doors were open and Greta, in full royal attire, walked in. WINSTON: Now presenting Her Majesty, Princess Greta Von Amberg.
Greta was handed a sceptre. When she reached the throne and turned to face everyone in the audience, the fanfare died down. Several people bowed. Greta nodded, and the audience sat down. Katalin and Emmaline sat down in chairs near the throne.
GRETA: Thank you all for joining us today. We extend a special welcome to those who have travelled around the world to join us this day. We are gathered this day to celebrate and welcome two young women into their rightful place of the Von Amberg family. A place which, for reasons we need not get into at this moment, has been denied them for far too long. We are here to remedy that today.
Greta continued her speech, and some of the dignitaries also made speeches. After the speeches were finished, Greta, Katalin and Emmaline stood.
GRETA: Katalin, Emmaline, will you please kneel?
Katalin and Emmaline knelt in front of Greta.
GRETA: Katalin Von Amberg, Emmaline Von Amberg, are you both willing to take an oath?
KATALIN & EMMALINE: We are.
One of the dignitaries handed Greta a bible, which she held out in front of the girls.
GRETA: Please place your right hands on this to take the oath.
Katalin and Emmaline each put a hand on the bible.
GRETA: Do you swear to be faithful and keep allegiance to the throne? To uphold the law of the realm? And should the occasion of I, as the reigning monarch, become unable to fulfill my duties arise, to govern the peoples of the realm?
KATALIN: I, Katalin Von Amberg…
EMMALINE: I, Emmaline Von Amberg…
KATALIN: Do solemnly swear to be faithful and keep allegiance to the throne…
EMMALINE: To uphold the law of the realm…
KATALIN: And should the occasion of the reigning monarch become unable to fulfill her duties arise…
EMMALINE: I do solemnly swear to govern the peoples of the realm, according to their laws and customs.
Greta nodded.
GRETA: I hear and accept your oath.
The girls took their hands off of the bible, and Greta handed it back to the dignitary. She raised the sceptre and tapped the shoulders of both Katalin and Emmaline with it. Another of the dignitaries brought over a box and opened it. Greta took out a tiara and placed it on Katalin’s head.
GRETA: I dub thee Crown Princess.
She took out a second tiara, placing it on Emmaline’s head.
GRETA: I dub thee Princess Royal.
The box closed and was taken away. Greta held out her right hand.
GRETA: Please rise and turn.
Katalin and Emmaline stood up and turned to face the audience. Several in the audience knelt down, while many others bowed.
GRETA: My Lords, Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Her Royal Highness Katalin, Crown Princess Von Amberg, and Her Royal Highness Emmaline Von Amberg, Princess Royal.
The audience stood and applauded. When the cheering eventually died down, a piece of music began (CLICK HERE to listen to it). Greta started down the aisle, with Katalin and Emmaline following close behind.

What a beautiful ceremony! I'm glad that so far no one has caused any drama and interfered with it though I'm sure Vivian has plans for troublemaking later.

PALACE VON AMBERG
After the ceremony ended, several pictures of the two newly crowned princesses were taken in various poses, and with various visitors. Afterwards, the party moved to the ballroom, where there was food as well as dancing. CLICK HERE to listen to the music that’s playing.
HOPE: Congratulations, you two!
KATALIN: Hope!
EMMALINE: Thank you so much for coming!
KATALIN: You, as well, Aiden.
AIDEN: We were happy to.
HOPE: We’re very happy for the both of you.
EMMALINE: Thank you!
KATALIN: We really appreciate it!

At a nearby table, Miles scoffed.
MILES: Look at her, she’s practically flaunting it! Honestly, if she means to hide herself, she’s not doing a good job of it.
SOPHIE: Oh, give it a rest, Miles.
MILES: Do you not think it’s odd that on the day our former cousins receive their royal titles, Princess Gina returns looking hardly any older than when she disappeared all those years ago?
SOPHIE: Of course I do, but you prattling on about it isn’t going to get us anywhere. We need to figure out what’s going on here, and I’ve an idea of how we’ll do it.

DAVID: Gotta say, this is a nice place.
CARLY: It is. I’m glad you’re having a good time.
DAVID: With you, always.
David and Carly kissed. Jennifer and Frankie walked over.
JENNIFER: Hey guys!
CARLY: Hey!
DAVID: Nice to see you both.
FRANKIE: You too, man.
Frankie and David shook hands as Jennifer and Carly hugged.
CARLY: Enjoying the party so far?
FRANKIE: Definitely! You?
DAVID: Absolutely!
JENNIFER: It’s been a beautiful day!
David looked over Carly’s shoulder.
CARLY: Everything okay?
DAVID: Looks like we’ve got a spectator.
CARLY: God, it’s not Vivian, is it?
Jennifer noticed the person David was referring to.
DAVID: No, she’s busy chatting it up with the Duke of Kent, or someone like that.
JENNIFER: It looks like a man.
Carly and Frankie turned in the direction that David and Jennifer were looking.
CARLY: Oh, great…
FRANKIE: I was hoping we wouldn’t run into him while we were here.
JENNIFER: What’s going on?
DAVID: Yeah, who is that guy?
CARLY: That is our cousin.
A man walked over to the group.
FRANKIE: Dimitri.
DIMITRI: François, Katerina, how lovely to see you both.
CARLY: Hello, Dimitri.
DIMITRI: I must admit, I am surprised to see you both here.
FRANKIE: Well, we were both invited, and it was too good an opportunity to pass up.
DIMITRI: I see. And who, François, is your beautiful lady friend?
FRANKIE: This is my date, Jennifer Horton. And, it’s Frankie. Only one person still calls me François, and it’s not you.
DIMITRI: Well, you shall have to make it two, as I refuse to call you by your stupid American name. That goes for you, as well, Katerina.
CARLY: Charming, as always.
Dimitri turned his attention to Jennifer. He took her right hand in both of us.
DIMITRI: I am pleased to be making your acquaintance, Ms. Jennifer Horton.
Dimitri kissed Jennifer’s hand.

Dimitri is interested in Jennifer clearly

But at the same time Frankie still refuses to be called by his real name of Francois, I wonder why or I wonder why Carly refuses to be called Katerina

I don't remember Dimitri, unless he's a new character. I was glad for the acknowledgement of Francois and Katerina and their relationship.

I hope Miles and Sofie's confusion is cleared up soon.
