LOFT
JOEY: I cannot get over how cool this ring is.
ALANIS: Glad you like it.
JOEY: Of course, it helps that the woman who gave it to me is pretty cool, too.
ALANIS: Well, as it happens, I think you’re a pretty cool guy.
Alanis and Joey kissed and laughed.
JOEY: So, you ready?
ALANIS: Yep. I’m excited to tell your parents and sister!
JOEY: Me too. They’ll be the first to know, besides Claire and Chase.
Alanis nodded.
ALANIS: I hope they take it well.
JOEY: Why wouldn’t they? They love you. You’re practically already their second daughter.
ALANIS: Yeah. I’m sure they will.
Alanis and Joey took each other by the hand and walked out.
DIMERA JET
Tony, Anna, Carrie and Austin were aboard the jet.
ANNA: This is so exciting! I know you two were at something like this before, but for Tony and I, it’s our first time.
CARRIE: I didn’t actually go to the last coronation.
AUSTIN: The one for Greta was awesome! Aside from, you know, the bit where there was an assassination attempt and several people ended up getting shot. Apart from that, though, it was great.
TONY: Yes, let us hope that nothing like that occurs this weekend.
CARRIE: I’m surprised you haven’t been to one of these, Tony.
TONY: Well, the last one occurred while André had me trapped on that island for twenty years, and I was barely a toddler when the one before that occurred. Still, I know that Stefano attended both.
ANNA: Well thankfully, the DiMera family will be represented by far more suitable people this time around.
Tony’s phone buzzed. He looked at it.
TONY: That’s the pilot, we’re getting ready to land.
PALACE VON AMBERG
Miss Faversham, Hope (and Gina’s) old friend, had come to help with preparations for the ceremony which would occur later in the week. She was currently watching as some of the servants hung banners.
FAVERSHAM: A little bit to the left, I think. There we are, perfect. Well done.
Greta came down the stairs. Miss Faversham bowed.
FAVERSHAM: Your Majesty.
GRETA: Miss Faversham, you’ve known me since I was in diapers. You were one of my mother’s dearest friends. I think we know each other well enough for you to call me Greta.
FAVERSHAM: Under ordinary circumstances, Majesty, I wouldn’t argue with you. However, this weekend’s circumstances are anything but ordinary.
GRETA: Whatever makes you happy. Anyway, thank you for helping get everything put together.
FAVERSHAM: Oh, it’s not a problem, my dear. Thank you for so graciously accepting the girls into the fold.
GRETA: Well, they are my nieces, and it’s time that their royal titles were given to them. Speaking of which, where are they?
FAVERSHAM: They will be along soon, I can assure you. They are getting ready to welcome the first of our guests for the weekend.
Miss Faversham’s phone rang.
FAVERSHAM: Hello? Yes, darling. Very good. Is your sister with you? All right. We shall see you in a few minutes.
She hung the phone up.
FAVERSHAM: That was Katalin. She’s been picked up, and is bringing that lovely Medbh girl with her. Emmaline is still getting ready, but should be following them shortly.
GRETA: Excellent.
HOTEL - EUROPE
Once the ISA jet had landed, everyone got to the hotel that they were staying at, which was very near the palace. Hope showed Ciara and Trix to their room.
HOPE: Here we are. You guys can get settled in. We all plan to rest for a bit, but in a few hours, John and I are going over to see Greta and the twins. If you’d like to come, you’re more than welcome.
CIARA: I’m kinda tired, but maybe. We’ll see how I feel when it’s closer to time to go.
HOPE: All right. I’ll check in when we’re getting ready. You two be good.
CIARA: Mom!
TRIX: We’ll be fine, Mrs. Jennings.
HOPE: I’m sure you will. All right, I’ll be back later to check in.
Hope closed the door behind her. Ciara sighed. She and Trix sat down on the bed.
TRIX: This is really nice1 I’ve never been to Europe before.
CIARA: Me either.
TRIX: Do you think you might go with your mum and John?
Ciara shrugged.
CIARA: I know they’re the whole reason we’re here, but I’m not exactly thrilled to see…her just yet. But, I suppose it’s best to just rip the bandaid off quickly.
TRIX: That’s the spirit.
CIARA: At least I get to be here with you, so that makes it better. And I will try to have a good time while we’re here.
TRIX: Well good. This is supposed to be a fun trip.
CIARA: It will be.
