Chapter 6

Before

CAR
Roman and Hope were in a police car together. They were heading for the DiMera Mansion. Roman was talking into his scanner.
ROMAN: En route to 430 Lakeview Drive checking out a 415 (disturbance).
OFFICER (over radio): 10-4.
Roman put down the scanner.
ROMAN; I just cannot believe this.
HOPE: Nor can I.
ROMAN: I mean, after all the hellish things André has done to us, he brings us back to Melaswen.
HOPE: But how long have we been on Melaswen? Did we ever leave?
ROMAN: I would think we did.
HOPE: But we don't have proof. André somehow got us all moved onto Melaswen again. How do we know that he didn't just drug us all to make us think we had left the first time?
ROMAN: These are excellent questions, which we will find out the answer to once we get there.
HOPE: Come on, Roman. It's not like André is going to tell us his full plan or anything.
ROMAN: He may not have a choice.
Roman shook his head.
HOPE: I just hope we're able to get the answers we need, and soon.
The scanner buzzed with static.
OFFICER (over radio): Officer...all...poss...10-80 (explosion)...
Roman picked up the scanner.
ROMAN: 10-1 (Reception poor), Officer. 10-5 (Relay message).
OFFICE (over radio): Possible 10-80 reported nearby.
HOPE: 10-80? That's code for an explosion.
ROMAN: 10-4.
Then, it hit.

After

ROADSIDE
The police car had been flipped over by the blast. Hope was still concious, and was surveying herself for any damage. She definitely felt some bruises, and thought she may have a cut on her arm. There was broken glass everywhere. The windshield had shattered. She looked through what remained of it and saw a body lying a few feet from the car. Then, she looked over and saw that Roman was no longer in the driver seat. She quickly pulled out the car's radio scanner.
HOPE: Detective Hope Brady to Salem P.D. 10-73 (How do you receive?).
There was a moment of static, and then a voice came.
OFFICER (over radio): 10-26 (Clear), Detective, what's your position?
HOPE: We have an 11-99 (officer needs help!) on Route 139, just passed the Blue Note. 11-41 (Ambulance needed). Commissioner Brady is at 10-45B (serious condition), possibly C (critical).
OFFICER (over radio): 10-4.
Hope waited to hear back from the main office. She heard static for a few minutes.
OFFICE (over radio): 11-79 (Ambulance sent), Detective. ETA less than five minutes.
HOPE: 10-4, over and out.
Hope put down the radio scanner.
HOPE: Get here soon. Just hang on, Roman. We're getting out this.

Chapter 7

Before

PARK
Joey was sitting on a park bench, when his phone went off.
JOEY: Hello?
JADE (over phone): Joey?
JOEY: Oh, it's you. I didn't recognize the number.
JADE (over phone): I'm at the hospital. Can you come and meet me?
JOEY: Why would I want to do that?
JADE (over phone): I need to talk to you.
JOEY: What could we possibly have to say to each other?
JADE (over phone): Please? Come on, Joey. I'm sad and kinda scared and I need someone to talk to.
JOEY: There's nothing I have to say to you.
JADE (over phone): Please? Joey, it's really important. I'm late.

After

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
The hospital was one of the few parts unaffected by the blast. But, the scene was still utter chaos. Joey ran in.
JOEY: Mom?
Kayla was crossing the room and ran to Joey and hugged him.
KAYLA: Thank god you're all right!
JOEY: Yeah, I'm fine. Where's dad?
KAYLA: I don't know. He's not answering his phone right now. Sweetheart, I have to go. There's a rush of patients right now.
JOEY: Okay. Go do what you need to do.
KAYLA: We'll talk later, I promise. I love you.
Kayla kissed Joey's forehead.
JOEY: I love you, too.
Kayla went into one of the rooms. Daniel walked out of a different room as two medics were bringing Paige in on a stretcher.
DANIEL: What've we got?
MEDIC: Another one hit by the blast. She's unconcious. We found her with her right leg caught underneath a table at the Slicer.
DANIEL: Paige. Okay, get her into the OR. We need to see what damage has been done that we can fix.
The two medics wheeled Paige away. Daniel was about to follow when he heard a voice.
J.J.: Daniel!
J.J. came running in.
J.J.: Daniel, it's Paige. She was caught in the blast. Her right leg was twisted underneath this table.
DANIEL: I know. I just sent her to the OR.
J.J.: Daniel, what is going on?
DANIEL: I don't know, J.J. I really don't know. I'm about to go check on her.
J.J.: I'm coming with you.
DANIEL: No. I can't let you do that.
J.J.: Are you kidding me?!
DANIEL: Listen, J.J., listen to me. I know that you want to help. I know. But, right now, the best thing you can do for Paige, is to let me do my job. I promise, I will do everything in my power to make sure that she is okay. You know that I will.
J.J. nodded. Daniel gave him a quick hug.
DANIEL: I'll let you know as soon as I know anything, I promise.
Daniel went into the OR. J.J. took a seat. Joey walked up.
JOEY: Hey.

I could really feel JJ's pain and fear. It brought tears to my eyes. I hope Daniel is able to help Paige!

I think Jade being (possibly) pregnant is the least of Joey's problems with this explosion and everything.
