Thank you all so much for the comments and for reading! I'm really excited about this story. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a little bit longer before it goes anywhere. I know, it's annoying, seeing as how we just got through a week-long hiatus, but the story is going on a week-long hiatus. Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm off to camp, and won't be back until the following Sunday. In the meantime, here is a foretaste of what's to come.

Chapter 3

DIMERA TUNNELS

Before

Chad, Rex and Cassie continued their trek through the tunnels.
REX: Seriously, it feels like we're just going in circles.
CHAD: You have any other ideas?
REX: How about we wait for Tony? He'll come back for us. He always does.
CHAD: Yeah, not gonna happen.
CASSIE: Rex, I think we should listen to Chad.
REX: How can we? We barely know him!
CASSIE: And he barely knows us. But, I don't know how to describe it, I just have this good feeling about him.
The ground started to rumble.
CHAD: You guys feel that too?
Cassie nodded.
REX: It feels like an earthquake...

After

CHAD: The hell was that?!
Chad, Rex and Cassie had been knocked to the ground by the explosion.
REX: Sounds like some kind of bomb went off.
CASSIE: I think it did.
CHAD: Well, whatever happened, it feels like it shook the whole town of Salem.
The three got up and dusted themselves off. Rex pointed to something behind Chad.
REX: Look.
Cassie and Chad turned to look.
CASSIE: It's an opening.
CHAD: Great! Now we can finally get out of this horrible place! Let's go.
Chad and Cassie made their way to the opening of the tunnel. They noticed Rex hadn't moved.
CASSIE: Rex, are you coming? Come on.
REX: I was gonna wait for Tony. I just don't feel right getting out of here without speaking to him, first. I mean, he put us down here for a reason, obviously.
CHAD: Man, I've told you, Tony is dead. And the guy who you think is Tony, that's André, Tony's evil look alike brother, or cousin or something. Tony is dead!
André walked from the opening. He was followed by Rolf, Bart and Peter.
ANDRE: No, he's not.
CASSIE: Tony!
Cassie hugged André.
ANDRE: Cassie, Rex, how lovely to see you again. I'm so glad that you aren't hurt.
André shook Rex's hand.
REX: We're glad too, Tony.
ANDRE: Yes, well, it was a very near thing. André must have caused the explosion.
CHAD: Yeah, I'm sure you did.
ANDRE: Chad. Oh, my dear Chad. It's been such a long time! So wonderful to see you again.
CHAD: Not nearly long enough.
ANDRE: I'm sure you won't believe me, but I can assure you, I am Tony.
CHAD: Yeah, well if that were true, why are they with you?
Chad gestured to Rolf and Bart.
BART: Anywhere Mr. D goes, I go.
ROLF: And I am partly responsible for ze explosion. Ze machine that André used was created by me.
CHAD: Aha! So you are André!
ROLF: Not quite. I said André used it, but he stole ze technology. Antony has been helping to track him down.
CHAD: I don't believe you. I know who you really are.
André chuckled.
ANDRE: Oh, Chad.
He stood right next to Chad and whispered into his ear.
ANDRE: You don't know a thing at all.

Hmm.... wonder what Andre means by that. Maybe he and Tony are fused together?

Rex's loyalty to Tony might have cost them their freedom.

Chapter 4

SALEM PLACE

Before

Jan sat at a table. Belle and Shawn-D sat on either side of her. She was shaking.
JAN: I...I remember...
SHAWN-D: What do you remember?
JAN: I...was raped. We were in Puerto Rico...and there was a man...he said he was a movie producer...he said he could make me famous. He raped me.
Belle put a hand on Jan's shoulder.
SHAWN-D: Do you remember anything else, Jan?
JAN: You. You were there. You tried to save me from that horrible man.
BELLE: She's talking about Paul, isn't she?
Shawn-D nodded.
JAN: Who's Paul?
SHAWN-D: He's the man. The man in your memory.
JAN: He's disgusting!
SHAWN-D: He's also very dead.
JAN: Good! If he wasn't, I'd kill him myself.
Shawn-D and Belle looked at each other.
JAN: Do you guys feel something?
The ground began to shake.
BELLE: I feel it.
SHAWN-D: So do I.
BELLE: This can't be good.

After

The explosion had rocked Salem Place. Belle, Jan and Shawn-D had all fallen to the ground and been knocked out. Shawn-D was the first one to come to. He took a moment to get his bearings, then stood up.
SHAWN-D: Belle?
He ran over to Belle, who was still out. He put her head in his lap and felt for a pulse. It was there, but faint. He then did the same for Jan. Jan's pulse was stronger. Shawn-D got out his phone and dialed 911.
SHAWN-D: This is Shawn-Douglas Brady. I need an ambulance, possibly two, at Salem Place. Just outside of the Java Cafe.
Pause.
SHAWN-D: Yeah, I know there was just an explosion! That's why I'm calling! My wife and another woman need help!
Meanwhile, Jan was having a rather unusual dream. She was in the same hallway that she had been in during her sessions with Marlena. The hallway with a bunch of closed doors. There were less doors than before, and someone else was in there now. It was a woman. A woman with curly, dark brown hair. Jan walked towards her.
JAN: Hello?
She walked closer. The woman had her back turned to Jan.
JAN: Hello?
The woman ignored her.
JAN: Who are you?
The woman turned around to reveal that she was another Jan.
JAN: What are you doing here?
JAN 2: Why shouldn't I be here? This is my mind.
JAN: No, it's my mind.
JAN 2: I know. I'm you. Or, the you that you should be.
JAN: I don't understand.
JAN 2: No. You wouldn't. But, you will. I'm you, Jan. I'm the you that remembers everything.

Uh oh. Evil Jan seems to have shown up now! Great use of that device, André DiMera.

I kind of like the more innocent Jan. I'm hoping she won't give in. But I guess we'll see.

I swear I felt that explosion. Great descriptions and now there are two Jans??? This is wild great stuff.

Chapter 5

SLICER

Before

Claire and Chase kissed. Afterwords, for a moment, they just stood there, staring into each other's eyes. Then, Claire took Chase's hand.
CLAIRE: So...what happens now?
CHASE: I don't know. I've never felt like this before.
CLAIRE: Me either...but, I like it.
CHASE: So do I.
The two smiled at each other.
CLAIRE: So...is this...are we a thing now?
CHASE: If you want us to be.
CLAIRE: Do you want us to be?
CHASE: Definitely! Do you?
Claire wrapped her arms around Chase.
CLAIRE: What do you think?
Claire pulled Chase into another kiss. Unbeknownst to either of them, Ciara had been watching from the window. She ran back to the table where everyone was sitting, and did a fist pump into the air.
CIARA: Yes!
THEO: They actually did it?
CIARA: Yep!
HENRI: I could see it coming. During the performance, they could barely keep their eyes off each other. I thought it would have happened during the “Waltz for Eva and Che”, to be honest.
CIARA: Looks like someone owes me $20.
Alex rolled his eyes.
ALEX: You said during the performance.
CIARA: Or the afterparty. This is still the afterparty.
HENRI: Come on, dude. Looks like we gotta pay up.
Alex and Henri pulled out their wallets.

After

Alex and Henri helped Theo and Ciara up.
HENRI: You okay, dude?
THEO: Yeah. I'm okay.
CIARA: A little bruised, but we'll survive.
ALEX: What the hell happened?
CIARA: We'd all like to know that.
J.J. was kneeling on the ground in front of Paige. He cradled her head in his arms.
J.J.: Come on, Paige. You've gotta come back to me. I thought I lost you once, I will not lose you again!
HENRI: An ambulance should be on its way.
J.J.: Well, they better get here, quick!
Claire opened her eyes and looked around. There was rubble everywhere. She sat up, slowly, and tried to take in the chaotic scene around. She was bleeding, but the thought of her own injuries vanished from her mind the moment she saw the Chase was lying nearby under a plank of wood.
CLAIRE: Chase?
She got up, ran over to him, and knelt by his side.
CLAIRE: Chase? Oh my god! Chase?
She put a her fingers on his throat to feel for a pulse. It was faint.
CLAIRE: Chase, wake up! Please, please wake up!
She knelt down and kissed Chase.
CLAIRE: Please wake up. I need you, Chase. I...I love you.
