Chapter 647
JENNIFER’S HOUSE
JENNIFER: I’m sorry. You do know Tom and Alice are gone, right?
SANDY: Yes, of course I know that. I’m not completely stupid, you know. Even though I do choose to distance myself from most of the family, I do get occasional updates on what’s going on in Salem.
JENNIFER: Okay, well, I’m Jennifer Deveraux, I’m Bill’s daughter.
SANDY: I see.
JENNIFER: Would you like to come in?
SANDY: Yes, I believe I would.
Jennifer let Sandy in the house.
SANDY: Well, at least you haven’t changed much about it.
JENNIFER: I try to keep it similar enough to honor Gran and Grandpa. I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name the first time.
SANDY: Sandy.
JENNIFER: Sandy? Oh my gosh! That Sandy? That would mean you’re my Uncle Tommy’s-
SANDY: Daughter, yes I am.
JENNIFER: Oh wow! I’ve been wondering when I would meet you at last! Uncle Tommy’s told me about you, and of course, I’ve seen pictures from years ago when you were in Salem.
SANDY: Yes, well, I vaguely remember something about Uncle Bill having a daughter.
JENNIFER: A daughter and two sons. Lucas and Mike. If you stay around Salem long enough, I’m sure you’ll meet Lucas. Would you like something to drink? I was just about to put on some tea.
SANDY: No, thank you.
JENNIFER: Okay, then. So...what brings you to Salem after all this time?
SANDY: Mostly my daughter, Lily. She recently moved here.
JENNIFER: As a therapist, yes. She’s helping my cousin’s daughter get mobility back in her leg. I’ve heard great things about Lily. And I’m sure Uncle Tommy will be pleased to see you again.
SANDY: We’ll see. As I was saying, I’m here for my daughter. I’ve come back to stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life.
HEATHROW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - LONDON, ENGLAND
NICHOLAS: I’ve already thought about that. I’m sure she may find it a bit suspicious, but once I tell her about you “running away” and me “trying to find you but failing”, I’m sure she won’t be too bothered. She hates you, but not enough to track you down if you aren’t in the immediate area.
CASSIE: So, what now?
ALAMAIN MANSION
LAWRENCE: Yes, it appears that I am. Hello again, Ivan.
IVAN: Well, this is wonderful news! I’m very glad to see you again...if slightly confused.
LAWRENCE: I’m glad to be back.
VIVIAN: Now, Lawrence, we must catch up. Come with me into the Parlor. Ivan, tell the cook to bring us some tea and brandy, you do still like brandy?
LAWRENCE: Of course.
VIVIAN: And then clean up this mess.
She gave André’s body a sideways glance.
LAWRENCE: Yes, if the servants come in and see it, they’ll go into hysterics, and I doubt that either Aunt Vivian or myself have the time to coddle anybody this afternoon.
IVAN: Right away, Madame, Sir.
Ivan walked into the kitchens. Vivian linked her arm with Lawrence’s and the two walked up the stairs.
VIVIAN: Now, let’s talk, darling. We have so much to catch up on. I’m sure you have loads of questions, as do I.
LAWRENCE: And I am sure they will all be answered accordingly.
