Chapter 620
DIMERA MANSION
CASSIE: A chat?
VIVIAN: Of course, dear. Ivan, keep moving her things. No need to just stand there and watch.
IVAN: Of course, Madame.
Ivan picked up some boxes and walked out.
CASSIE: Why are you having your creepy little manservant move my things?
VIVIAN: First of all, Ivan is many things, but he is not creepy. And the reason he is moving your things is because you’re moving in, of course.
CASSIE: Moving in?
VIVIAN: Why, yes. To the Alamain Mansion.
CASSIE: I-
VIVIAN: Oh, you needn’t worry, my dear. It’s only myself, Nicky, Beatrix and Carly living there, so there’s more than enough room for you. Though, I can understand why you might be hesitant. Living with Carly Manning is no ride in the park, but I’m sure Nicky and I will take good care of you. After all, you’re carrying an heir to the Alamain family.
CASSIE: But-
VIVIAN: Now, now, I won’t hear a word against it. Nicky told me all about this child of his that you’re having, and I insisted he have you moved in at once. Now, don’t get me wrong, he was a little surprised at first. Well, can you blame him? Who wouldn’t be? But, once he got over the initial shock, he was thrilled to be becoming a father again. And I’m sure Beatrix will be more than happy to be a big sister.
CASSIE: That’s...very nice.
VIVIAN: Indeed it is, isn’t it? That’s why Ivan is here, he’s packing all of the things you’ll need for the Mansion. Of course, once we’ve got you all moved in, there will be a few other things he’ll have to buy for you. Being an Alamain comes with certain responsibilities, I’m sure you understand.
CASSIE: Well, yes…
VIVIAN: Now, don’t worry about your brother or father, I’ll have that all sorted out. Oh, and the wedding, as well. We’ll have to plan for that.
CASSIE: Wedding?
VIVAN: Well, of course. They’ll have to be a wedding. After all, you and Nicky are having a child. The two of you must be married.
CASSIE: I-
VIVIAN: Now, there’s nothing for you to worry about, my dear, I’ll take care of everything. Oh, and since we’re going to be family very soon, I think it’s best that you start calling me Auntie Vivian. After all, you are marrying the son of my favorite nephew, and carrying my great-great nephew or niece. Now, come along. Nicholas is waiting anxiously for you at the Mansion.
Vivian took Cassie by the hand and led her out of the room.
SAMI & LUCAS’ APARTMENT
Lucas stirred a pot on the stove. Sami walked in.
SAMI: I’m home.
LUCAS: Hey.
SAMI: Hey.
Sami and Lucas kissed.
SAMI: What’re you making?
LUCAS: Pasta sauce.
SAMI: That smells amazing!
LUCAS: Thanks. So, how’d it go today?
SAMI: You ready for your laugh for the day? Nicole asked if Sydney could be in her wedding.
Sami shook her head and chuckled to herself.
LUCAS: Why’s that funny?
SAMI: I mean, come on, Lucas, did she really think I’d say yes?
LUCAS: I think you should.
SAMI: Excuse me?
LUCAS: Sami, think about it. Sydney has always been close with Nicole, and she thinks Daniel’s pretty cool. I’m sure she’d be thrilled to know that they’re getting married, and that they want her to be in the wedding.
SAMI: Well, we’ll still go to it. I just don’t see why Sydney needs to be part of it.
LUCAS: Look, it’s not like Nicole’s gonna steal Sydney with everyone watching. They’ll be in a church, or a court of law, whichever they decide. And anything else they’d do together would also be with other witnesses around. Besides, isn’t that part of the terms of your agreement to be civil with each other?
SAMI: When did you suddenly become Nicole’s biggest fan?
LUCAS: I’m not Nicole’s biggest fan. I just think it would be unfair to Sydney not to at least let her know that Nicole wants her in her wedding.
Sami sighed.
LUCAS: Look, Sami, you are Sydney’s mother. We both know that, Sydney knows that and Nicole knows that. And nothing will ever change that. Now you know that Sydney adores Nicole. Honestly, what would be the harm in giving her one day to support a woman that she looks up to?
Sami sighed again.
SAMI: Fine, one day. But that’s it. And don’t think that I won’t be watching Nicole like a hawk.
LUCAS: I wouldn’t expect anything less.
SAMI: And I want Sydney home from any pre-wedding event before nine.
LUCAS: Fair enough.
SAMI: How is it that you’re always able to convince me to go along with things, General?
LUCAS: Who knows? Maybe it’s because you love me.
SAMI: That may have something to do with it.
Sami and Lucas kissed.
SAMI: Go on, go call Nicole and tell her the news.
LUCAS: I’ll be back in a second.
Lucas pulled out his phone and walked into another room.
SAMI (thinking): You better not make me regret this, Nicole.
BRADY PUB
John and Marlena sat at one of the tables. After a few minutes, Greta walked in. John and Marlena got up.
JOHN: Hey, good to see you, kid.
GRETA: Good to see you, too.
John and Greta hugged.
GRETA: It’s been too long.
JOHN: That’s a fact.
GRETA: Good to see you, Marlena.
Greta and Marlena hugged.
MARLENA: You too, dear.
All three sat back down at the table.
JOHN: So, I assume you’re back because of the situation with Hope?
GRETA: That’s part of it, yeah.
MARLENA: Well, there’s been a few updates on that. We called in a neurologist, Dr. Craig Wesley, and he seems to think Hope is trying to fight back from the brainwashing André put her under.
GRETA: Well, that’s good news, at least.
JOHN: You been up to see Hope yet?
GRETA: Not yet. I was thinking about going after dinner tonight. But, there’s also another reason that I’m back in Salem.
JOHN: You’re looking for your father.
