Chapter 306
ALAMAIN MANSION
Trix and Carly were having dinner.
CARLY: How was school?
TRIX: Good. We had a test in trig, but I think I did pretty well.
CARLY: Well, that's good.
TRIX: Can I ask something?
CARLY: Go ahead.
TRIX: Did you and my dad get into a fight or something?
CARLY: Why would you think that?
TRIX: Well, I haven't seen you since I was, like, five. And the last few days, you two have barely said anything to each other.
CARLY: Your father and I have a...complicated relationship.
TRIX: Seems like it. What happened between you guys?
CARLY: We had a disagreement a while ago. We both said and did things that we're not too proud of. But, hopefully, the fact that he called me this time means that we're finally going to be making up.
TRIX: That'd be nice.
PENTHOUSE GRILLE
André looked around the room.
ANDRE: Well, I see that not all of our party is here yet. Such a shame.
VICTOR: And there'll be far less here by the time your remaining guests have arrived.
Victor stood.
ANDRE: Please, don't get up. I'm sure he'll be here in a moment.
The rest of the group stood, as well.
TONY: I'm afraid that you and your guest are rather late to the party. We're finished here.
ANDRE: Oh, I don't think so.
PHILIP: And just why is that?
ANDRE: Well, for one, you forgot about the check.
Nadine, the waitress, came back into the room. She was carrying a tray. She uncovered the tray, revealing a gun, then picked it up.
NADINE: Like the boss said, you're not going anywhere.
NICHOLAS: Do you honestly think that this is threatening to us?
CHAD: We've all been in worse scrapes than this.
ANDRE: Oh, but you will all want to stay. Get ready to meet the guest of honor.
The door opened and Titus walked in.
TITUS: Ah, it's good to see you all again.
PHILIP: Uncle Titus?
TITUS: Yes, boy, I'm back. Did you not think that I'd return to pay you all back for betraying me?
VICTOR: Betraying you? I tried to help you, Titus. I gave you a position at my company. I took care of your son when you couldn't-
TITUS: You allowed my son to be killed.
VICTOR: Had it been within my power to stop Deimos' death, I would have.
ANDRE: Ah, yes. Poor Deimos.
TITUS: Yes. Thank you, Tony, for getting us all together.
TONY: I didn't get us all together.
Titus looked from Tony to André. It was the first time he had seen the two of them together.
TITUS: There are...two of you?
ANDRE: I told you, I have an identical cousin.
Titus turned to Tony.
TITUS: Ah, yes. You must be André.
TONY: I believe you have the wrong information. I am Tony. The man you just referred to as Tony is André. André, doesn't it ever get tiring, taking over my life?
ANDRE: Not when I can have so much fun with it.
Titus did a double take.
TITUS: Wait a moment. You're André?
André smirked.
ANDRE: I was wondering how long it would take you to figure it out.
