Chapter 302
HORTON CENTER
Shawn-D took Claire, Jade and baby Emmy to the Horton Center. He had explaimed the situation to Eric, who agreed that he'd be more than happy to let Jade and her baby stay there.
CLAIRE: Come on, I'll show you around and help you find your room.
JADE: Okay.
Claire and Jade walked off.
SHAWN-D: Thanks again for letting Jade stay here.
ERIC: Not a problem. I pray that we'll be able to help her find her way.
SHAWN-D: That's part of what I wanted to talk to you about.
ERIC: What do you mean?
SHAWN-D: I don't want to go into great detail, but...just keep your eyes open while Jade's around.
ERIC: Why?
SHAWN-D: Let's just say she's caused a lot of trouble for Claire and her friends over the years.
ERIC: I see. I will keep that in mind, and pray that God gives her guidance, and that He works through us here to help her with that guidance.
SHAWN-D: I appreciate it. Thanks, man.
Eric and Shawn-D shook hands. A minute later, Claire came back.
CLAIRE: I've got Jade set up in a room. She's feeding Emmy.
ERIC: Excellent. Thank you for bringing her here.
CLAIRE: I hope you guys can help her.
ERIC: That is our hope, as well.
SHAWN-D: Well, we should get going. I have to get back to work. And I think you've got an appointment in a little bit. I'll drop you off on my way back.
CLAIRE: Okay. Thanks again, Eric.
Shawn-D and Claire left.
O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Nicholas stood at the baggage claim. He checked his watch, then looked at the arrivals and departures boards. A large group of people walked into the baggage claim, among them was Carly. She and Nicholas walked to each other.
CARLY: Nicky.
NICHOLAS: Mother.
Carly and Nicholas gave each other a stiff hug.
CARLY: I'm a little surprised to see you.
NICHOLAS: Why?
CARLY: It's nothing. It's just...I thought you would have sent Ivan.
NICHOLAS: Please, you're my mother. I'm not going to send Ivan to get you.
CARLY: Thank you.
Nicholas nodded. They waited for Carly's suitcase in silence, then got in the car.
CAR
A short while later, they were driving back to Salem.
CARLY: It is good to see you, Nicky.
NICHOLAS: You too.
CARLY: I suppose I'll finally get to see Beatrix again. She must have grown so much.
NICHOLAS: She has. She's excited to see you, as well.
CARLY: Good.
The car pulled up outside the Alamain Mansion.
NICHOLAS: I'll have Ivan get your bags.
CARLY: No, that's okay. I've got them. I'm interested to see what you've done with the place, and see my granddaughter.
TITAN
Philip was working late this evening. His work phone rang.
PHILIP: Kiriakis. Well, I was wondering when I would hear from you again. And why would I want to do something like that? Uh-huh. Okay. Really? Look, as I'm sure you already know, my father isn't in charge of Titan anymore...I see. I see. Well, if you're sure. Okay. Friday night, Penthouse Grille, you got it.
Philip hung up the phone. He sighed, then pressed a button on his phone.
PHILIP: Marie, please put an appointment in my calender. Friday night, 7 o'clock. Dinner with my father and Tony DiMera.
MARIE (over phone): I'll get right on that, sir.
