SALEM FAIRGROUNDS, THE NEXT EVENING
Chloe returns to the fairgrounds alone and finds Celeste’s tent. She steps inside and calls Celeste’s name. There’s no answer so she calls again. Celeste enters the tent.
Chloe: Oh good, you’re here. I thought maybe you were gone. Celeste: Nature called, my dahling. Did you bring more money? Chloe: Yes. Here’s the other 10. Celeste: Let’s get started. She lines up the tarot cards again and sees trouble ahead. Chloe: Do you still see it? Celeste: Yes dahling. You are going to hurt the love of your life. Chloe: That can’t be right. I’d never do anything to hurt him. Celeste closes her eyes and rocks. Chloe: Are you in a trance? Celeste: No, just a cat nap. I find them refreshing. Chloe: What can I do to prevent this from happening ... to keep from hurting him? Celeste: Nothing. There’s nothing you can do to change the future. It is what it is. Chloe: Are you sure? I mean, can you take another look? Please? Celeste: I am seeing your initials. “C” “L”. Correct? Chloe nods. Celeste: “C” “L” and I see the letters “P” “K”. Correct? Chloe nods sadly. Chloe: Does it say how I’m going to hurt him? Celeste: For 10 dollars? No, that’s all it says. Chloe gets up and starts walking out of the tent. Celeste: Where are you going, my dahling? Don’t you want your palm read? Tea leaves? A scalp massage? Chloe wanders out of the tent feeling that her life has been shattered. She isn’t sure whether she wants to cry or scream. She leans against a streetlight near the Ferris Wheel ride. Someone comes up to her from behind, covers her eyes with their hands and says “Guess who?”

FAIRGROUNDS
Chloe wanders out of the Celestial Visions tent feeling that her life has been shattered. She isn’t sure whether she wants to cry or scream. She leans against a streetlight near the Ferris Wheel ride. Someone comes up to her from behind, covers her eyes with their hands and says “Guess who?” Chloe turns around and scowls at him.
Chloe: What do you want? Brady: Jeez. You’re little miss sunshine, aren’t you? Chloe: Sorry Brady. I just got some bad news. Brady: Can I help? Chloe: No. No one can help. Brady: What are you doing here all by yourself? Where’s your puppy dog? Chloe: My puppy dog? Brady: Yeah, Philip. Chloe: He’s not my puppy dog and he didn’t know I was coming here tonight. And I’d appreciate it if you didn’t say anything to him about it. Brady: Ooh, the lovebirds are keeping secrets from each other. Chloe: Shut up. Brady: Hey, I know what would cheer you up. Chloe: What? Brady: There’s a music concert down the Fairway. They’re playing music from State Fair. Let’s go sing. Chloe’s face lights up. Chloe: Okay. Brady takes her hand and they head for the concert hall.
BRADY’S CAR
Later that night, Brady drives Chloe home. Brady: Well, good night. Chloe: Thanks for cheering me up, Brady. I had a good time. Brady: So did I. We make beautiful music together. Brady looks at Chloe and she can see he means more than just singing.
To be continued on Monday ...

Ooh! Could this be the start of Brady and Chloe's relationship? It's certainly looking that way!
Interested in seeing what happens next with this story, jkjpatch!
