Nathan, you actually told your Grandmother that it was her fault you weren't with Melanie..?? If you hadn't of listened to her before about leaving Melanie alone, you would be together and Melanie would be happy and safe... ? And now you are going to go after her full force... Geeez, Nathan, how sad you can only get a woman when she is an emotional wreck and suffering physically and mentally. Nathan you are a putz....you got that train ticket yet... ??

Nathan is a world class ass clown! How about when Maggie told him that Melanie needs time to grieve and process and be alone and he was like "no she doesn't, I totally disagree with that." What??? Even if you leave out the fact that she's still a married woman, she just had a miscarriage for crying out loud!!!!! She needs time to grieve the loss of a child and figure out what she's going to do about her marriage and her life. She certainly does NOT need some psychotic stalker tool bag following her around telling her what to do and how to feel!!! AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Anyone else see similarities to how they are writing Nathan's last days and how Arianna's were written? Yes, they are/were completely different types of characters and the storyline's are vastly different but I'm just talking from the perspective of "how much damage can we do to a character in a very short amount of time and how annoying can we make them so that the audience is literally pulling their hair out and screaming at their tv's to get this character off their screens ASAP!!!" Because this is exactly how I felt about Arianna in her last days/weeks.

You know, I never used to mind Nathan. Until Phillip and Melanie split up. Now he is driving me nuts. I feel kind of bad for him somtimes, but I hated how he was towards Philip at Java Cafe and Melanie stood there and didn't say a single thing. Kind of really pissed me off...can I say that word here? LOL
I would like for them to recast Nathan and do something different with his character. Give him a storyline of finding his father or something like that. He is too one dimensional...like Rafe.

Just one more thing I love about this board... we can say ass clown. ;D
Seriously, Nathan only gets more and more annoying every time I see the guy. From his "she's staying with me" in Java to his conversation with Maggie, Either he is delusional or Mel has been encouragin him offscreen as well as onscreen. Why she let's him play Caveman with her I have no idea. The guys is about as "off" as a Horton as Rafe2 is as Rafe1.

I feel like the writers didn't really know what to do with him. He SHOULD be a wealth of stories as a Horton, but the current slant of the show is VERY much away from the Hortons that started everything. It's now the Dimeras vs, Bradys show and I guess Nathan doesn't really fit into that.
I feel bad for the guy. I don't see him as delusional or psychotic, I just see him as kinda sad. It's very intoxicating to have someone falling at your feet saying they love you, so I get why Melanie keeps him around. He's a huge boost to her ego. But it HAS come time for her to pick and my guess is she's going to chose to be alone, so they'll both end up leaving. And, before anyone says it, YES I know she chose Philip when she married him. But being in love with 2 men at once is common on soaps, so I don't really blame her for that one. It's just a sad situation all the way around.

But, she loves him Addicted... I can totally sympathize with her being in love with two men. She does love them differently. But, I don't think she's In Love with either of them. Phil is her husband. Sans the affair, she could have built a great life with him and given him her complete heart and devotion. He allowed her to do and say whatever she wanted to say. Nathan is her crush. He fawns over her, and dotes on her. He gives her the puppy eyes, and will always be the "what if" and one that got away. She could have also been devoted and built her life with him. But, I don't know if she'd be happy with him in time because she likes to be involved in people's lives and drama, and he's kind of a drama free guy. She's young, she's inexperienced, and I don't think her character needs to really be tied down to any guy. She has a lot of learning and needs to find herself and find what she really wants.

TreyDawgg - You said it beautifully!! I think Melanie is Philip's crush while Chloe is his soulmate. Either way, they shouldn't have gotten married and now they can fix their mistake. Melanie has a LOT of growing up to do and I look forward to seeing her move on as a single gal. I just hope she's able to stay single for a while.

I think Melanie is Philip's crush while Chloe is his soulmate. MUAH! A big kiss for you. Truer words have never been spoken IMO Chloe is for sure Philip's soul mate, while I have no doubt that he loves Melanie and I did enjoy their relationship, he and Chloe are supposed to be end game. They are meant for each other. Too bad the writers jsut won't let them be!

Was thinking about Nathan's profession of love to Melanie on Friday. She really doesn't seem to know what she wants from him. She never says no, go away, but she never really commits. So is it Melanie's fault for stringing Nathan along, or is it Nathan's fault for not picking up the clues?

I agree. I think she like him chasing after her, but doesn't like him enough to commit, so she encourages him just enough to not give up. Although I'm not necessarily proud of it, I did that to a guy in high school. It was a huge boost to my ego back then. I did like him, but I didn't really want to date him. So I guess that's why I understand that side of Melanie.

I don't think Melanie knows what she wants right now. Her life was been turned upside down and she needs a breather now.. She needs Mel-time to grow up more and become the woman she needs to become. She cares for both Philip & Nathan but can't be with either one because of her confusion. She especially doesn't want to hurt Nathan and she thinks she may because of her still feelings for Philip.

I could be way off base, but it would seem to me that she has refused Nathan, several times in fact, quite clearly, but he doesn't seem to be taking no for an answer,so she just gave up saying no.A friend of mine said it best in my opinion,in some ways he behaves like Nick did.Not in an "I'm gonna hurt her to keep her with me"sorta way like Nick did,but still obsessive all the same.

I Agree jaysdelina and sportsgirl! However, I think Nathan is going to eventually come back as a recast and they will eventually fall for each other again!
