Oh well, guess she had to stop and try and explain. That's just the type of woman Jennifer is. But she is right when she says that her heart belongs to someone else... always has and always will.
Man I wish the new writers would read some of the fantastic writing on this site and incorporate it into the show. Hate to see the story end, but looking forward to the conclusion.

WHITE HOUSE ROSE GARDEN
President: Yet, Osama bin Laden avoided capture. And escaped across the Afghan border into Pakistan. And so, shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda.
Last summer, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we could locate bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside Pakistan. And finally, in April, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.
The Vice President begins to snore.
Helping us in our quest to get bin Laden was a brave reporter who I, myself, hand-picked to chronicle the operation. And today, I am bestowing on him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the most distinguished award I can give to a civilian.
So it is with great pride that I call ... um ... that I call ... (Someone whispers to the president.) Yes, Jack Deveraux. It’s with great pride I call Jack Deveraux to the podium.
Jack steps up to the podium and the president puts the ribbon with the medal around Jack’s neck. The president steps back to give Jack the floor.
Jack: Thank you Mr. President, Mr. Vice President, Mr. Panetta, and honored guests. I am living proof that the keyboard is mightier than the sword. I’m really a writer, not a speaker, so forgive me if I’m at a loss for words today.
From the back of the audience, Jack hears someone call out. Voice: That’s not true. Since when are you ever at a loss for words? Jack looks down the aisle. Jack: Jennifer. You’re here.
Jennifer walks down the center aisle toward Jack. Jennifer: Of course I’m here. I wouldn’t miss this for the world. But I’m pretty mad at you that I had to find out about it from the Secretary of Defense instead of directly from you. Jack: I didn’t think you cared anymore. Jennifer: I didn’t think you cared anymore. And that was my biggest mistake. I should have known you wouldn’t desert me. I’m sorry I didn’t believe hard enough, Jack. Jack: You know that’s a line from Peter Pan. Jennifer: Yes, of course I know. The boy who wouldn’t grow up. But you did. And now you’re a hero. Not just to me, but to the world. Jack ... Jack: Are you saying what I think you’re saying? Jennifer: Yes Jack. I never stopped loving you either. Can you forgive me? Can we start over? Or is it too late? Jack: It could never be too late for us, Miss Horton. Jennifer: Oh Jack.
Jack leaves the podium, takes Jennifer in his arms and kisses her. Abigail joins her parents in the aisle. Abigail: Group hug! Jack and Jennifer put their arms around Abigail and the three of them laugh and cry and hug. Jack Jr. arrives and joins the group hug. Jack Jr.: Hi Dad. Jack: JJ! How did you know? JJ: Mom called me. I am so damn proud of you, Dad. Jack: I’m glad you came. But don’t swear. JJ: Sorry Dad. Jack: Let’s all go home.
The crowd, which includes Darin, Jay, Mark, and the Captain, cheer.
The sailors: Three cheers for Jack! Hip hip hooray. Hip hip hooray. Hip hip hooray.
The End
