I think Chloe is doing pretty well but I'm not sure if she was ready for an hour long Ferris wheel ride.

Chapter 69a
They wrapped their arms around each other and kissed under the stars above the glass-enclosed ferris wheel car — until the gondola started swaying again.
Chloe broke the kiss. “Oh my god!” Her voice went higher with a hint of panic. “What was that?”
“Nothing, it’s perfectly normal. Hey,” Philip tightened his hold on her. “Thought you said you weren’t scared anymore.”
“I’m not,” she said, despite her nervous laughter. She looked downward toward the ground through the glass. “Um. It’s just these darn swaying ferris wheel cars that shake me up.”
“Let’s look at the view,” he said, trying to distract her. “Hey, check it out,” he pointed at a random building. “There’s our condo off to the East. You can see it from here.”
“Our condo. I like the sound of that,” she said looking into his eyes. She looked back in the direction of the condo and, playing along, she said, “Look, I think I see a light on in Parker’s room.”
“Ha! He better be asleep or the kid’s in big trouble. Hey,” Philip said with a gleam in his eye, “next time we come to the Navy Pier, we have to bring him.”
“Yes! He’ll go nuts for the children’s museum.”
“And the funhouse maze,” Philip added.
“What time do the fireworks start?” she asked.
He gave her a sly smile and pulled her into his arms. Rubbing the tip of his nose against hers, he said, “Well, they could start right here and now.”
“You have a one-track mind, Kiriakis,” she laughed.
“Don’t blame me, it’s your fault.”
Raising her brows, she said, “Oh really? How do you figure that one?”
“You make it hard to be impressed by any fireworks or skyline views.” He held his palm over her cheek. “I have the best view in the city right here in this gondola.”

Annnnndddd--there's our cliffhanger! Poor Chloe--I'm not a Ferris wheel fan, either... Love how you figured that out. This was supposed to be the Friday cliffhanger, but I ended up re-chunking, so it wound up on Monday.

Chapter 69b
“You make it hard to be impressed by any fireworks or skyline views.” He held her cheek in his palm. “I have the best view in the city right here in this gondola.”
She looked at him moony-eyed. “Oh Philip.”
He leaned closer and kissed her lips softly and slowly. When he leaned away, he nearly did a double-take. “What’s wrong,” she asked.
Looking in Chloe’s eyes, he saw something that he remembered seeing for the first time when he was 16, the day he took off her eyeglasses on the pier. He saw forever. “Nothing’s wrong. Everything’s right.”
She smiled and was about to kiss him again when something caught her eye in the distance. “The fireworks have started! Look.”
Philip lifted his head and watched as the night sky lit up with colored designs of varying shapes and sizes. Their gondola car was now at the highest point of the Ferris Wheel and he wrapped her tightly in his arms as they watched the show together.
One of the fireworks morphed into something unexpected — a heart shape with words inside, words that formed “P&C 4 Ever.”
Philip’s lips parted. He looked at Chloe. “Did you see that?”
“See what, honey?”
“It … I thought it said … wow, I guess I was just imagining it but I could have sworn it said ….”
She giggled. “P and C forever?”
“Yes! Did you see it too?” Chloe merely smiled at Philip. “You did that??”
“Too corny?” she asked.
“Not to me, it’s not,” Philip said.

Aww I love the firework! This goes perfectly with what I had Philip do for Chloe in Breaking Ties today too. Great scene. I'm loving these sweet romantic scenes Kpatch.
