Prologue

Belle and Shawn-D return to town, and Shawn-D is kidnapped by Jan Spears. Just as they're making a getaway, Jan is captured by Belle, Marlena, John, and the Salem P.D. and thrown in jail. She is now sharing a cell with Samantha Evans, Marlena's identical twin.

Chapter 1

It had been a little over a year since Shawn-D, Belle, and Claire had returned to Salem (so the story is now set in the current time, 2011). Jan Spears had been in jail for kidnapping and attempted murder for just over one year. However, all was not well. Shawn-D and Belle had been having problems ever since Jan was arrested. Belle and Shawn-D were staying with Bo and Hope. One morning, they were arguing.

BO & HOPE'S HOUSE
BELLE: I just need some time, Shawn.
SHAWN-D: Right. So, you're just gonna walk out on me?
BELLE: I am not walking out on you! I just need to leave town for a little while. Clear my head. You of all people should understand what I'm talking about. Remember when you left town for a little while to clear your head when everybody thought my mom was the Salem Stalker?
SHAWN-D: That was different!
BELLE: No, it isn't! It's the exact same thing that you did!
SHAWN-D: No! Back then we were only boyfriend and girlfriend. Now, we're husband and wife. We have a child, Claire. Remember her? She needs her mother!
BELLE: She'll have her mother. I'm taking her with me. After I leave here, I'm going to go down to the Pub and pick Claire up.
SHAWN-D: Oh, so you're gonna walk out on me and take my baby girl away from me, too? Nice, Belle. Real nice!
BELLE: Shawn, it's not like that at all. I just...I already told you, I need some time to think about things, and I can't do that in Salem.
SHAWN-D: Whatever.
Not wanting to say any more, Belle walked out the door. A few minutes later, Bo walked down the stairs.
BO: Hey, hope I'm not interrupting something.
SHAWN-D: Nope. Just the same garbage as usual.
BO: Well, I better get down to the station. Jan Spears is getting out of jail today. Let's see how long it takes her to get herself back into trouble.
SHAWN-D: Wait, Jan is getting out of jail? She was only in jail for a year. How did she get out this fast?
BO: Good behavior.
SHAWN-D: Jan? Good behavior? They're letting Jan Spears out of jail for good behavior?
BO: What can I say? She was...very good.
Shawn-D didn't quite know why, but this news made him happy.

Ooh yes, very good first chapter. Crazy Jan is out on good behavior and crazy Belle is leaving Shawn and taking Claire. I am terribly excited to see where this is going to go and especially where Belle is going to go. Thanks Andre. Can't wait for more.

Chapter 2

BRADY PUB
It was a few days after Belle and Claire left. Shawn-D walked into the Pub. He was expecting to see Caroline and possibly some of the other waitresses. But, there was one person there that he definitely wasn't expecting to see.
SHAWN-D: Jan?
Sure enough, Jan Spears was sitting at one of the tables, reading a newspaper. She responded to him, but didn't look at him.
JAN: Hello, Shawn.
SHAWN-D: Is anybody sitting here?
JAN: Nope.
SHAWN-D: May I?
JAN: Sure.
Shawn-D sat down across the table from Jan.
SHAWN-D: You look good. How are you?
JAN: Fine.
SHAWN-D: Good. That's good. So, how long have you been out?
JAN: Four days.
SHAWN-D: Cool.
Shawn-D stared at Jan for a while. There was something different about her, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. After a few minutes, Jan noticed that Shawn-D was staring at her.
JAN: Is there something in my teeth?
SHAWN-D: No, it's just...there's something about you. Something different.
Jan looked up from her newspaper for the first time since Shawn-D had come over.
JAN: Different how?
SHAWN-D: I don't know. I'm trying to figure that out.
JAN: Well, I hope you have fun figuring that out. In the meantime, I have to go.
Jan got up.
SHAWN-D: Wait, Jan!
Jan turned back to Shawn-D.
SHAWN-D: Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?
JAN: No thanks. I'm busy.
Jan turned away and started walking towards the door.
SHAWN-D: How about tomorrow?
JAN: Busy.
SAHWN-D: The night after that?
JAN: Still busy. Look, Shawn, I'd really love to stay and talk, but I have to go. I'll see you later.
Jan left. That was strange. There must be something wrong with Jan. She wasn't her normal, crazy self. She didn't even try to flirt with Shawn-D. Well, whatever it was that was different about Jan, Shawn-D was going to figure it out.

That hard to get routine could be working huh? This could be vetty interesting!

Thanks Andre. Love the story so far. Stupid Belle leaveing with Claire just as Jan is getting out of Jail. Love the way Jan is acting. Playing hard to get to make Shawn want what he can't have. Smart move on Jan's part. Can't wait to read more.
