This is a thread for anyone who has questions about Days history and anyone who wants to answer those questions. With Days approaching its 50th anniversary, there are all kinds of stories and relationships that many of us know nothing about. I know we have some people here who've been watching almost from the beginning and others who've just begun watching. I thought it would be nice to have a place where people could come to find quick answers.

And I will start with the question that gave me this idea. Just what exactly is the relationship between Hope and Julie and Doug. I get that Doug was married to Hope's bio mother Addie and she died. So to me, Julie seems like she should just be Hope's step-mother but she also always calls Alice her grandma, etc. Where exactly did Julie come from and what is her relation to the rest of the Hortons?

She is her step-mother, but I believe that Addie and Julie were sisters?

Addie was Julie and Hope's mother. Julie is Hope's half-sister and step-mother through marriage to Doug. Addie was Alice and Tom's daughter so they were Hope and Julie's grandparents.

No wonder I'm confused. I'm still not sure I can keep that straight. So Doug married his wife's daughter from another man!?!? Well, maybe JJ and Eve have a future then. Thanks. |

Great thread idea wendylou. The Julie/Doug/Addie triangle was complicated. Julie was a big-time schemer, and she was drop-dead gorgeous in her younger years. She hated her mother, why, I don't recall. Julie met Doug after he got out of jail. He was a con man and she hired him to romance her mother Addie as part of a con. Meanwhile, Julie and Doug had a torrid fling and fell madly in love. That may be when Julie went off to marry Bob Anderson because he was rich. (Can't remember the timeline.) Then Doug fell in love with Addie for real, leaving Julie to pine away for him. Doug married Addie and she became pregnant with Hope. When Hope was a baby, Addie was pushing her in a stroller, and a car almost hit the stroller. Addie pushed Hope to safety and got hit by the car and died. Some time later, Doug and Julie reconnected and got married. Julie helped Doug raise Hope. So Hope and Julie are half sisters and Julie is also Hope's step-mother. |

I have a question about all of this. Now I wasn't watching at this time infact I wasn't even born yet, but I believe I read somewhere that Julie and Doug were supposed to runaway together, but Doug didn't want Julie to bring her son David with her. That was when Addie swooped in and convinced Doug to elope with her. I have always understood that Doug was not inlove with Addie when they married, but fell in love with her afterwards. Do you know if any of this is correct. Also I believe I read somewhere that Doug and Julie's fling started when she was still married to Scott Banning. |

I've lost track of where some characters are supposed to be. For example, where is Abe's son, Brandon? Or Rex and Cassie? Or Mimi?

I don't know where most of them are but I am pretty sure that Rex and Mimi are together wherever they are. Or maybe not. I can't remember either. It seems like she had to leave after killing someone or something.

I don't remember where they are either. Add Stephanie to the list of characters who are missing, meaning it was never really mentioned where they went.
