I'm afraid the list of missing persons could keep the Salem PD busy for a long, long time!
Can we add Celeste to the list? I miss her...

I think I was in grad school (thus not watching anything, ever) when this was revealed....but what were the circumstances with Kate Roberts and Bill Horton? All of a sudden, Lucas and Jenniger were half-siblings and I've never figured that out...

I know this is going back pretty far, but you can add Don Craig to the list, he went out to get the mail and never returned! Really? I am shocked! I can't believe this is how they wrote Don's exit! That is just sad!

All of a sudden, Lucas and Jenniger were half-siblings and I've never figured that out... Not real sure. It was one of those rewritten history things. He apparently had a fling with someone named Kate Winograd who worked at the hospital. So I guess years later some writer thought it was a stroke of luck that her first name was Kate because I can't believe this was planned that long in advance or that well. So because everyone has to be related in Salem, Kate Roberts had a retroactive fling with Bill Horton and the outcome was Lucas. I hate that they turned him into a Horton. He really has no/little interaction with any of the Hortons and I have never sensed any deep ties with them. He was fine the way he was.

This thread makes me want to go back and read the series of paperback novels from the early years of the show.
In the 90's maybe, a publisher came out with books for multiple daytime and prime time soaps. The books were the storylines from the beginning of the shows. I found it interesting to be able to read about the early years of the show.
I'm trying to remember why Nancy didn't think Craig could be Chloe's birth father.

Good way to get some history on Kate. I think Nicole left off a few of Kate's crimes, including paying Nicole to marry Lucas, and dragging Chloe into prostitution. Can someone please explain this? When/how did Chloe become a prostitute? I thought she was engaged to Lucas once upon a time. How did the prostitution story come to be?

I hope folks are following this thread because I have some more unanswered questions here. This time about the Dimeras. - Who exactly is Andre? I thought he was some whack-a-doo who Stefano had surgically made to look like Tony (his son) and he had Tony replaced by Andre. Andre was a doppleganger who Stefano controlled (like that Rafe doppleganger) who did a lot of bad things. Meanwhile, Stefano dumped Tony on some random island for decades. If so, why did he treat his son like that?
- Was Tony good? I thought he married Anna Brady (Carrie's mom) and treated people with kindness, including giving EJ good advice about how to treat Sami. So am I right in thinking Tony was a good guy, like Chad is trying to be a good DiMera who stands up to Stefano, protects the town from him (i.e. Marlena, Abby)? Or was Tony a villain like Stefano?
- Has Stefano ever been married? Or does he just have a bunch of illegitimate kids with a whole bunch of women?

I think I can answer that... 1. André is (apparently) Stefano's oldest son. For the longest time, we thought he was Stefano's nephew. He bore a passing resemblance to Tony. However, Tony was the white sheep of the DiMera clan. I say white sheep in that he was mostly good, as opposed to the rest of his family. Stefano wanted the perfect DiMera soldier, so he had André have plastic surgery to give him Tony's face. André then proceeded to take over Tony's life many times. Both were presumed dead as of 2009, but as you can see, André is alive and well. 2. Tony was mostly good. The bad things he did do weren't actually him, they were André pretending to be him. Tony did do a few questionable things in his life, but nowhere near as bad as André. He was more or less a good guy. Also, Tony isn't actually Stefano's son. His mother, Daphne, had an affair with Enrico, the family gardener, giving Stefano another reason to hate Tony and have André impersonate him. 3. As far as I know, aside from his marriage to Kate, he was married to Vivian Alamin for a very brief amount of time. There was also Daphne, Tony's mother. Don't know of any other than that. If you wish to know more about André, please check out the group viewing I'm holding on Tuesday, which will be all about André and his particularly delicious brand of evil.

Thanks for answering my questions!!!! I do remember some passing reference to a gardener but I thought the gardener was Andre's father and Andre was some doppleganger passed off as Stefano's nephew, later manipulated by Stefano for other things. Regarding Tony, why did Stefano hate him? Surely it wasn't Tony's fault that his mother cheated on Stefano? Did Tony (good Tony) ever try to set Stefano up (i.e. turn him into the police, take over his company, etc. like EJ did? I ask because this may explain why he dumped Tony on a island for years

twinklingmoon - As far as I can remember, no. Tony has never (to my memory) wanted anything to do with Stefano or the DiMera Empire. He only associated with them when he had to, and worked to redeem his good name. The whole purpose for ditching Tony and making André look like him was (mostly) because of his parentage. Also, because, as I said, Tony wanted nothing to do with Stefano. Stefano had tried for years to groom Tony into the perfect DiMera soldier, but he was having none of it. Hence André was brought into the picture.

I think it would have been interesting to have Tony back instead of Andre. That way Tony would be the counterforce to Stefano, and Chad somewhere in the middle. It would be like the two of them would be fighting for Chad's soul. Lexi was the counterforce in EJ's life, at times, when Stefano went cray-cray.
I could see a battle between Tony and Stefano for control of DiMera enterprises, and the family name, while Chad had to figure out how to navigate the family waters. It could have been interesting, I think.
BTW, where the heck is Tony? Is he dead? Or is off somewhere?

twinklingmoon - Yes, Tony is dead. He and Philip were having a confrontation on the Pier. Tony slipped and was impaled on a sharp plank of wood.

But this is soap world, so who knows? Maybe Stefano is hiding Tony's body alongside EJ's...ha! ha!

It was a pretty lame way for such an awesome guy like Tony to go. Who knows? With the DiMera family, anything as possible. As long as Thaao Penghlis is alive and well, I'd never rule out a reappearance by Tony.
