Poor Chloe. She doesn't trust the doctor and has to go to group therapy. I'm glad she knows that Philip still loves her. Yes that he does but I wonder how they are going to have a future together even provided that Parker is their biological son together because no way are Victor and Kate going to allow Philip and Chloe to be happy, just no way

Well Chloe does feel isolated and I can't say I blame her having PNES but being locked up in a facility for her PNES must be rough too because it doesn't look like she is getting any better or it doesn't look like she is going to get out any time soon so I wonder what's going to happen?
Because Chloe she doesn't have custody now of her son Parker, Daniel does because Daniel believes as well as the rest of the world believes that Parker is Daniel's son when he is really Philip's and Philip doesn't even have custody of the boy so it just complicates things because if Philip knows Parker is his son he would have already have claimed him by now but he can't since he doesn't have proof but he is getting that now but as soon as Philip gets the proof that Parker is his son, who is to say Daniel or anyone else in Salem will believe this proof?
Or who is to say that if the proof should be discovered that Parker really is Philip's son, who is to say Daniel will willingly hand Parker over to Philip? Knowing what this could do to Daniel it could cause him to have a psychotic break in the sense that this could cause Daniel to completely lose it mentally in the sense that he could go over the edge and decide to kidnap Parker which would put Parker in danger as well as Daniel too for that matter because Daniel then he would be charged with kidnapping a child but should he take off with Parker then it could cause Daniel to become a fugitive
And then the Salem PD would have to get involved which means Philip's sister-in-law Philip's brother Bo's wife Hope would have to get involved as well as the rest of the Salem PD which would include Roman, Rafe, Abe, and if Philip's brother Bo is back on the force then he would no doubt get involved since Parker is his nephew since Philip is his brother
And then Philip should his son Parker get kidnapped then he is no doubt going to want his son found and brought back home to him which means he would tell his father Victor to get his goons on Daniel's trail should this become a kidnapping case
And this is only if it gets that far

Thanks everyone for reading and for your great comments. Thanks for your interest!
Terry, Chloe has only just been admitted to The Oaks about a week ago so it is too soon to see much progress. FYI Tyler is not in my story nor is Hope. You are really jumping ahead, so I will ask your patience please. Most of your other questions will get addressed during the course of the serial.
Previews up next.

Highlights of the week ahead ….
Daniel has a consultation with Dr. Newman.
Chloe has her first visitor. Any guesses who?
Philip will get the results of the paternity tests.

Chloe as for her first visitor, I think it will end up being either Daniel, Philip, or Chloe's BFF Nicole since Nicole and Chloe are such good friends but if it is not any of them then I would think it would either be her ex-husband her first husband Brady or it ends up being her mother Nancy or her father Craig
And finally Philip gets the results, about time, and maybe now he can finally claim Parker as his son but the truth will no doubt destroy Daniel as well as Maggie and the truth will send shockwaves through Salem that's for sure
But as for Daniel consulting with Dr. Newman, I wonder if Daniel deep down he is conspiring with Newman to keep Chloe locked up in The Oaks, wouldn't surprise me if that is what Daniel was doing or is doing

Chapter 11
“Have a seat, Danny,” Dr. Newman said, gesturing to the chair at the other side of the desk in his office. “So, you said you have some questions before you see Chloe. What are they?”
Daniel took a sip of coffee from a Starbucks cup he brought with him on the way to The Oaks. “I’m just not sure what to expect, Paul. Will she hate me? Will she be glad to see me? Will she even know me?”
“All good questions, but we won’t really know until you see her,” Paul replied.
“Well, what’s your assessment? She’s been here three weeks now,” Daniel stated. “How’s she doing?”
“As with any medical condition, whether physical or emotional, healing is a process. Look Danny,” Paul said, clasping his hands together and resting them on the desk, “I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. Chloe has PNES and that’s a complex neurological disorder. It’s not something that takes a straight line back to health. If she’s like most PNES patients, she’s going to make some progress, and she’s going to suffer setbacks. Right now, we’re trying a variety of pharmacologies on her and, if necessary, we may go a different route.”
“Different? Such as?”
“I’ve had some luck with some of my patients on ECT.”
“ECT! Electroconvulsive therapy?? I’m not sure I like the sound of that.”
Paul laughed. “I know. Freaks most people out,” Newman said calmly. “But it’s perfectly safe. We even have a video that shows patients and their families the whole procedure. The goal is to stimulate seizures in a safe, controlled enviroment in order to reduce the incidence of unexpected seizures overall. Sort of like letting the air out of a balloon and relieving the pressure so it doesn’t burst.”
Daniel nodded. “Well, do what you have to do. I know you’ve always been a bit of a maverick, since back when we did our residency together at UCLA Medical Center. But I trust you. As long as the end justifies the means ... as long as it gets her well.”
Paul was pensive for a moment. “I know this must be difficult on you, considering your prior relationship with Chloe. You told me about the infidelity and thinking your son was fathered by a man Chloe had an affair with. And yet, here you are. You’re standing by her through all this. Not a lot of men would do what you’re doing.”
Daniel nodded. “You remember I told you that it turns out Parker is mine after all.”
“Yes, I remember.”
“Well, that’s why I’m doing this,” Daniel explained. “Chloe is my son’s mother and I owe it to Parker. He loves her and she loves him and ... I feel like it’s my responsibility to bring Parker’s mother back to him.”
“And what about you, Danny? I know how much you loved her. And I know how much she hurt you,” Paul said sympathetically.
“There’s no denying that she did. I’d have to say that no one ever hurt me like that before. We were supposed to spend our lives together. Everyone said we were this perfect couple. We had everything ... at least I thought we did. But I don’t need to tell you, Chloe has deep insecurities. She was jealous of my newfound family, with Carly and Melanie. And honestly, she had no reason to be jealous.”
“Emotions like jealousy are irrational, Danny. But most of us suffer from them to some degree or other.”
Daniel nodded. “Funny thing is, I still care about her. Deep down,” he pressed his palm to his chest, his voice cracking a bit, “the feelings are still here, but the trust ... that’s hard to reclaim.” Newman nodded as Daniel continued. “You know, Paul, Chloe said something to me not long ago, after she came back to Salem and told me I’m Parker’s father. And I can’t get it out of my head.”
“What did she say?”
“She said that if we never thought someone else was Parker’s father, we’d still be together, we’d never have separated.”
Paul looked at Daniel like he was trying to read him. “And what is it about that statement you can’t forget?”
Daniel leaned back in his chair. “The fact that it’s probably the truth. We’d never have split up. But she didn’t say that she would have told me the truth about the one night stand she had. It’s like she was saying she would have continued to lie to me for the rest of our lives. I don’t think that’s what she intended to say, but that’s how it came across to me. We would have been living a lie.”
“Hmmm.” Paul chose his words carefully before speaking. “The one-night stand. If I remember correctly, you told me the affair was with someone she knew quite well.”
Daniel nodded. “Someone I knew too. My son-in-law, Melanie was married to him at the time. And he also happens to be my godfather’s son, so I knew him most of his life. Funny thing ... he never really liked me and he never tried to hide it until he got involved with Melanie. I sometimes think that he screwed my wife just to get back at me for some wrong he thinks I did to him.”
“No offense Danny, but that sounds a little paranoid and egocentric.”
“You know, you’re the only one who still calls me Danny.” Daniel chuckled. “And you’re still psychoanalyzing me. You’ve been trying to get your hands on my brain since UCLA.”
Paul shrugged. “Sorry. Occupational hazard. That other man ... the one night stand, it’s Brady Black, correct?”
“No, not Brady. Philip ... Philip Kiriakis. I gotta tell you, I don’t like him too much more than he likes me, but I always put up with him for other people’s sake. For Victor’s, for Kate’s, for Chloe, then for Melanie. But man, after he broke my daughter’s heart....” Daniel shook his head. “Of all the ripple effects from him doing my wife, well ... that’s the one I will never forgive him for -- for hurting Melanie.”
“Tell me the truth, Daniel, if you could, would you want to get back together with Chloe?”
Daniel inhaled. “That’s a tough one. Like I said, there’s something about Chloe that still gets to me. But the trust issue, that’s big.”
“What about you and Jennifer?”
“Aah, Jennifer. What a mess. That’s on again, off again. Right now, it’s off again,” he said with resignation. “But enough about me. Let’s talk about you. How’s your wife and kids?”

I like this exchange....never really been a Daniel fan, but here he seems more human than we typically see him.

Very interesting conversation. Looks like Daniel has feelings for both Chloe and Jennifer.
The treatment options sound a bit scary. Daniel doesn't seem concerned.

Chapter 12
It had been a week since Chloe was admitted to The Oaks. Or was it a month? She really wasn’t sure. Time didn’t seem to have much meaning around here. No one was in any big hurry. Days passed between seeing doctors and having counseling sessions. The thing that concerned her most was her memory lapses. Some days she’d wake up and have no idea where she was. She’d rush out of her room in a panic wearing only her pajamas. People pointed and stared and laughed at her. The orderlies would shove her back into her room, put her in a straightjacket and push her onto her bed.
Or was that just a dream she had? She wasn’t really sure about that either. She needed to talk to Dr. Newman about it. Oh wait, she did talk to him about it already. He told her that paranoia was a symptom of PNES and that he’d adjust her medication again. She wondered if he adjusted it yet.
She was pacing in her room like a caged animal when there was knock at her door. Josephine, one of the nurses, came in.
“Chloe, you have a visitor. Follow me.”
A visitor? Oh my goodness! Chloe felt her heart beating faster and faster as she followed Josephine to the solarium where patients were allowed to spend time with their visitors. This was Chloe’s very first trip to the solarium.
She wondered who would be there? Philip? Philip and Parker? That would be her fondest wish come true.
When the door to the solarium opened, Chloe burst out in tears. She was so happy to see the man who was waiting for her. She ran into his open arms.
“Hey, what’s with the tears? Does it mean you’re happy to see me or not happy.”
Chloe leaned away and brushed the tears from her cheeks. “Happy. I’ve been so isolated here. How’s Parker? Tell me about him, Daniel.”
“Let’s sit,” Daniel said, gesturing to a couple of wicker chairs. “He’s great. He’s perfect. He misses you, of course, but he’s surrounded by love.”
Chloe smiled through her tears. “That’s what I wanted to hear. Did you ... did you hire a nanny?”
“No, I didn’t want Parker to deal with any more changes than he needed to. We’re staying at Maggie and Victor’s.”
Chloe cringed. “Ugh. Victor. I hate that man having influence over my son.”
“I know,” Daniel said, resting his hand on top of Chloe’s. “But when Victor is in grandpa mode, he’s a very different person.”
Chloe shook her head. “No he’s not. Just ask Brady.”
“Anyway,” Daniel continued, “he has Maggie and Philip picking up the slack when I’m at the hospital.”
Chloe looked at Daniel. “Philip? You mean Philip didn’t go back to Chicago?”
“Oh. Um. No. He’s staying at his father’s house to help with Parker. Not exactly an ideal situation considering the confusion it causes for Parker, but ....”
“Oh no, don’t say that. I think it’s wonderful. Parker and Philip have a bond. They love each other.”
“That’s true. And that’s the only reason I put up with it.”
“Put up with? What does that mean? Are you two not getting along?”
“Philip and I have a bit of a strained relationship. We have a history, but you already know that.”
Chloe nodded. “Sorry. That’s my fault. Speaking of my fault, I owe you a huge apology, Daniel.”
“You do?”
“Both you and Jennifer. I’ve had a lot of time to think in the week I’ve been here. I did some awful things to come between you, played some terrible tricks. I wouldn’t blame you if you hated me,” she said wringing her hands. “That wasn’t like me.”
“I agree,” Daniel said, “but it’s probably all related to your neurological disorder, even before the seizures.”
“You’ve always been really understanding. Thank you, Daniel,” Chloe said. “I hope ... I hope you and Jennifer are back together and everything is good between you.”
Daniel tilted his head from side to side. “We’re not exactly together, but it has nothing to do with you, so put that out of your mind right now.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. Honestly.”
“It’s okay. I’ll live.”
“There’s someone else I want to apologize to. And I’m wondering if you can tell them for me.”
“Tell who?”
“Nicole. She was my best friend and I treated her hideously. I wish I could take back every awful thing I said to her.”
“I’ll tell her. What?” Daniel knit his brow. “You look upset.”
“I’m just thinking about Philip.”
“Seems like thinking about him tends to upset you.”
Chloe missed Philip and being separated like this made her pretty miserable. “I guess it does. Could you give him a message for me too?”
“If you insist,” Daniel laughed. “Sure. What would you like me to tell him?”
Chloe thought for a minute and then she realized that all the things she wanted to say to Philip were far too personal to convey through a third party, especially when that third party was Daniel. “Nothing. Never mind.”
“Are you sure?”
Chloe nodded. “Just give Parker a big kiss for me, okay? Tell him I love him so much.”
“I will,” Daniel said rising to his feet.
Chloe looked up at him. “Do you have to leave already?”
“Yessss. I’m sorry Chloe, but they only gave me 15 minutes.”
“Oh. Will you come again? Please?”
“You couldn’t keep me away.” Daniel held out his hands to Chloe and pulled her to her feet. He wrapped his arms around her and pressed his cheek to her hair. “You’re going to be fine. Everything is going to be fine, Chloe.”
“You’re nicer to me than I deserve, Daniel,” she said against his shoulder. “Thank you.”

I'm glad Chloe finally had a visitor. Hopefully finding out that Parker is doing well gives her some comfort.
Wonder if the medication is what is causing Chloe so much confusion.
