daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8525958/1/Hapka returns! Soaps.com sources tell us that Hapka's making a return to the show. He'll return from Baltimore a stronger person, persistent to get Melanie (Molly Burnett) away from Dario Hernandez (Francisco San Martin). Mark Hapka portrayed Nathan Horton on "Days Of Our Lives" since June 16, 2009 and in January of 2010, the actor was unceremoniously let go. Soaps.com interviewed Hapka about the surprising twist, who told us, "It was creative differences and a 'writers choice' for Nathan's 'departure.' Apparently the twist in the stretched out storyline of Melanie and Nathan's soul connection was that when finally given a chance to be together... somehow they don't." Things can change and they're about to. Soaps.com will report on Mark's airdate as soon as information becomes available.

I guess we have to take the bad with the good. Bad being Nathan returning. Good being Tomlin leaving. Nathan is such a bland character, but preferable to dimbulb. Can he scoop up Melanie and take her to Baltimore. I don't think he's the scooping type.
Thanks Sparky!

It's another Horton and another reason to keep Maggie onscreen, so I'm pleased for that alone.

Nathan will probably be a better character this go round and if it gets Melanie away from Dario am more then game for his return.

I also believe Nathan's writing will be better also... I have a good feeling about this! I hope I am right! At the very least, Mark is cute!

On Twitter someone speculated that Nathan will turn out to be Jack Deveraux's son. I think this is plausible and would be a good story. Jack and Melissa were once engaged. The actors, Matt Ashford and Mark Hapka, have similar facial features. And it would finally answer the question of who's Nathan's father. I hope they go this route. It will also create tension because Jennifer and Melissa are cousins.

I would absolutely love to see a Who's Nathan's Father storyline. It being Jack wouldn't bother me either. Hmm.. I have to say again that I am OK with this return. I am happy they are bringing back another Horton. Lucas should be on that list too We now know of 4 returns, right? John, Marlena, Jack and Nathan.

That would be interesting. So it doesn't sound like Dario will be leaving anytime soon

Hmmm. Nathan as Jack's son? That could be interesting. I could get behind that. Ok, I approve.

Nathan as Jack's son?
Oh, that'd be interesting! I'd approve it, too. LOL

If Melanie and Nathan get together, and Jack turns out to be Nathan's father, there will be added tension in that both their fathers will be vying for Jennifer's affections. <wheels turning>

Where is the puke face smiley?
Unless Nathan comes back with a lobotomy and some kahones...there is nothing to improve him. He has absolutely no edge. And being caught between two fathers both wanting Jennifer is definitely not must see tv in my book. Not knowing who your father is ...is not good enough angst. Finding out your father is Stefano...now that has potential. Finding out your father is Jack...uh ...hmmm...big whoop. All that does is once again add to the vortex of incest that thrives in salem
BUT then again, I never liked classic Days very much. I only watched when I was bored...until Philip came to the show. For me - romance/love is meaningless without gray characters that have to fight to obtain it. KC seems to be whitewashing the whole place. I am sure we will be transported back to the time when the Dimeras were evil villains without nuance (or legit reason) ...and supernatural angst was the order of the day.
I think I am going to skip it.
