Chapter 4
At the Cop Shop
Roman: Da lista suspects is so long, I can’t fit dem all on dis one sheeta paper. You know what we need?
Hope: No, what?
Roman: Da white board.
Hope: I’ll get it. Where do you keep it?
Roman: I don’t. Bo does. Bo has it.
Hope: Excuse me? Are you saying Bo took it with him to wherever it is he went?
Roman: Dat’s what I’m saying. Times like dis, I wish Bo was here. We’d have da crime solved in no time flat.
Hope: Ha! You mean, if Bo were here, this would end up being a cold case in no time flat.
Roman: Hey now. There’s no reason to dis Bo.
Hope: This Bo? What do you mean “this Bo”?
Roman: No, not dis Bo. Dis Bo. Like disrespect him. He’s a good cop and a good man.
Hope: Yeah, well, he’s not a good husband, not for the past two years anyway.
Roman: Oh. Right. I forgot about dat.
Hope: Look Roman, we don’t need the white board to solve this case, and we don’t need Bo either. I’m going to start at the top of the list and work my way down. Let’s see. I’ll start with Bo’s nephew Eric. Then I’ll question Bo’s niece Sami.
Roman: Uh uh. Not Eric. He’s a priest. He’s a good man. And he’s my son. And not Sami either. She’s been on trial for murder once this year already. Dis would be double jeopardy so she’s in da clear.
Hope: No, you’re wrong. Double jeopardy only applies to being tried twice for the same crime, Alex. This is two separate murders.
Roman: Crap. Well, if dat’s the case, I’ll question Sami. I’ll advise her to plead the sixth.
Hope: You mean fifth.
Roman: A fifth? Good idea. I have a fifth right here in my desk. Can I pour you a glass of vodka?
Hope: I can’t. I’m working.
Roman: Suit yourself. Cheers.

Love Roman. Sami is in the clear because she was on trial for murder once this year. So great that Hope is upset with Bo. Great story. Can't wait for more.
