The Penthouse

Marlena: What are you doing out here on the terrace in the middle of the night? It’s February and it’s ice cold. Come back inside. Come back to bed.
John stepped back inside the apartment and wrapped his arms around Marlena.
Marlena: Where’s my champagne?
John: Sorry Doc. Got distracted. I’ve got a lot on my mind.
Marlena: Anything you’d like to talk about?
John: Nah. Nothing to worry about. It’s all good.
Marlena: Good. Then come to bed.
John: You go ahead. I’ll be there in a minute. I just want to stoke the fire.
Marlena: Oh. ... I meant to ask you about that fire. It smells pretty funky. I presume you bought those cheap logs at Lowest Home Store again.
John: Guilty as charged.
Marlena: John, how many times do I have to remind you? We can afford the good logs.
John: That’s a fact. I promise to buy the good wood in the future.
Marlena: Good. Don’t be log ... I mean long.
Marlena went to the bedroom and John went to stoke the fire. As he gazed into the fireplace, he whispered to himself.
John: I can’t think of a better way to dispose of Kristen’s remains. Thanks for the warmth, Kristen.

There was a knock at the front door.
John: What the...? Who could that be in the middle of the night?
He looked through the peep-hole and opened the door.
John: Roman! What are you doing here at this time of night.
Roman: I hope I’m not disturbing anyone, John. But we need to talk. It’s important.
John: Sure. Have a seat. What’s the big deal?
Roman: I was checking da security film in da morgue.
John: And?
Roman: And I could clearly see Kristen’s body being stolen.
John: And?

Roman: And I could see who stole her body. It was you.
John: Hmmm. Where’s the film?
Roman reached into his pocket and held up the flash drive. John took it from Roman.
John: Are there any other copies?
Roman: Nope. I erased the digital film.
John walked over to the fireplace and tossed the flash drive into the fire.
Roman: So, did you kill her?
John looked back at Roman.
John: Seems like there’s going to be yet another unsolved Salem murder.
Roman: I don’t think Stefano is going to accept that. He’s going to keep digging until he finds out the truth.
John: Aah. Stefano doesn’t scare me. I know him too well.
Roman: If necessary, we could always pin the murder on Salem’s favorite scapegoat.
John: Nicole?
Roman: Yeah.
John: Sounds like a plan.
Roman: I’d better get going. Sleep well, John.
John: Thanks Roman. You’re a pal.

What pin it on Nicole. Poor Nicole she did not do anything this time. Why always pick on her?? I am not sure that I like John or Roman at the moment. Yet I really loved John for killing Kristen. I just think that if he was going to do it then he should also be willing to pay the price if needed. As one of my favorite shows would say Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Roman is just as bad for coming up with the plan to pin it on Nicole.

I don't mind the two of them hiding the evidence. But they should leave Nicole out of it.

I also don't like the fact that they are so willing to pin this on Nicole. LOL at John burning Kristen's remains and Marlene thinking he bought the cheap logs!!

They said they'd pin it on Nicole only "if necessary." Hate to see readers unhappy, so I'll tell you that I have a feeling it won't be necessary.

Chapter 24


JJ pulled the car into the parking lot of an old run-down looking building.
JJ: You sure this is the right place?
Teresa: Absolutely.
JJ: This place looks like a dump. And it’s in the worst part of town. It’s dangerous here.
Teresa: Quit being such a wuss. Now show me the money.
JJ reached into his jacket pocket and took out an envelope. He hesitated before handing it to Teresa.
Teresa: It’s all here?
JJ: It’s all there. All five hundred dollars. You know where I got that money?
Teresa: I don’t really care, sweet cheeks.
JJ: I took it out of my trust fund, the one my father set up for me. I wasn’t allowed to touch it until I turned 18.
Teresa: Then it’s a good thing you’re 18.
JJ: You’re such a heartless bitch.
Teresa: Aw, and you’re such a cry baby. I’m sure there’s lots more where that came from.
JJ: You’re wrong. There isn’t much more. My father wasn’t a rich man like your dad. He worked hard for every penny he earned and it meant a lot to him to be able to put a little money aside for me and my sister to help us get started in life. My mother’s going to want to know where the money went.
Teresa: Waa waa. You’re making me all weepy.
JJ: Shut up.
Teresa: I gotta go. Wait here for me.
JJ: Teresa wait. Don’t do this. Don’t take that money and flush it down the drain on some drugs, especially in your condition. It’s bad for the baby. You need help.
Teresa: Oh my god JJ, you sound just like an old lady. You've obviously been spending too much time with Maggie and Julie. Look, if it makes you feel better, I promise to put the money to good use, okay?
Teresa left the car.

A half hour went by, then an hour.

JJ started to get worried and wonder what was taking so long. Was Teresa in trouble? He took out his smartphone and googled the address.


JJ: Oh my god. Dr. Baker’s Abortion Clinic?? Unbelievable!
He leaned against the head-rest and closed his eyes.

I'm not a bit surprised that she's at the clinic with Dr. Baker.
