There will not be a chapter of Forgive Me, Father today, as it is preempted. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Chapter 17 SALEM PLACE It has now been about a week since the terrifying spectacle at St. Luke's, and things had gone back to mostly normal. It was early evening. Brady was sitting at the coffee shop in Salem Place. Eric walked over. ERIC: Brady, have you see Nicole? I've been trying to talk to her the last few weeks, but she won't return my calls. BRADY: Well, you and I are in the same boat, then. I saw her just a little bit ago. As soon as she saw me, she walked over to the other side of the street. ERIC: Well, i guess it's not surprising, given how horrible we were to her. BRADY: What? ERIC: Let's face it, we were lousy to her for a while. Me, moreso. BRADY: Hey, we had no way of knowing that she was telling the truth. ERIC: But, we should have at least tried to listen. Nicole and I were close once. Now, because of the way I treated her, she can't even stand to look at me. I was horrible to her. BRADY: I was, too. But, it's over now. And, we'll just have to try and make it up to her. ERIC: If she'll even talk to us. BRADY: She'll come around eventually. Just give her some time. ERIC: I guess. Eric looked at his watch. ERIC: It's getting late. I'm going home. BRADY: Okay. See you later, dude. ERIC: Bye. Eric stood up and walked away. ST. LUKE'S Father Matt was walking down the hallway. He heard a noise and saw someone dressed all in black, wearing a ski mask, walking towards him. MATT: Hello. Welcome, my child. I'm Father Matt. Have we met? The person began walking closer. MATT: Would you mind taking that mask off, please? It's just that I can't quite tell who you are with it on. The person was now standing in front of Father Matt, who had a shocked look on his face. MATT: It's you, isn't it? The person, despite their small size, grabbed Father Matt around the throat and lifted him off the ground, their hands chocking him.

Chapter 18 PARK Tony was walking through the park, talking on his cell phone. TONY: No, he doesn't know. And he mustn't. Pause. TONY: I'm trying to keep a low profile. If he knew, it would destroy what I've been working for. Pause. TONY: All right. I'll see you soon. CARVER HOUSE Abe was sitting at home reading the newspaper when a knock came at the door. Abe got up to open it and Celeste walked in. CELESTE: Abraham, I came as soon as I could. ABE: Celeste, good to see you. CELESTE: And you as well. When I saw what I saw, well, I'm just happy to see that you're still alive. How's Theodore? ABE: He's fine. But, what are you talking about, Celeste? CELESTE: Abraham, I had another premonition. And, after it was over, I booked a flight to Salem as soon as I could. ABE: Okay, what did you see? CELESTE: Evil. Evil beyond measure. ABE: Well, what does that mean? Are you talking about the incident at St. Luke's last week? CELESTE: It has already started, then. The darkness is coming. The dark five-point star is only the beginning. There will be much more darkness in Salem to come. I fear that not everyone will make it out alive. And, if they do, they will not be the people they once were. ST. LUKE'S MATT: It's you, isn't it? The person in the ski mask, despite their rather small size, picked Father Matt up by the throat, chocking him as he was lifted off the ground. He was then thrown backwards, hitting a painting before falling to the ground. The person walked over to him and gave him a kick. Just then, the person heard footsteps. ERIC (VO): Father Matt? Quickly, the person ran out. Eric missed this person by only a few seconds. ERIC: Father Ma...oh my... Eric found Father Matt lying on the ground, covered in blood and bruises. He quickly got out his cell phone and dialed 911. ERIC: Hello, this is Eric Brady. I need an ambulance at St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Glad Eric arrived to help Father Matt. Celeste's premonition is scary.
