SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Bill is talking to Kate, Chad, and Lexie when Daniel and Jennifer arrive.
Bill: Kate, you have to be patient. We’ll let you know as soon as we have any definitive information.
Kate: Daniel! Thank God you’re here. You have to help him.
Daniel: What’s the situation? Who are we talking about?
Lexie: My father.
Bill: Patient is presenting with diabetic shock and subsequent coma. Breathing is thready and heartbeat is shallow.
Kate: Oh my god.
Lexie: Can I see that chart?
Daniel takes it.
Daniel: After I take a look. Where’s the endocrinolgist?
Bill: He’s done everything he can do. Stefano needs a cardiologist now. And ...
Daniel: And what?
Bill: And so do I.
Bill collapses but does not lose consciousness.
Jennifer: Dad! Dad! What’s wrong?
Daniel and Lexie start evaluating Bill on the spot. Bill starts barking out orders and telling them what tests to perform on him.
Daniel: Get me a gurney! Quick!
Chad runs to another part of the floor to find a gurney.
Daniel: Are you having chest pains?
Bill: Yes, you idiot. I’m having a heart attack.
Daniel: Have you ever had a heart attack before?
Bill: No. But my BP has been elevated for a while.
Daniel: What kind of blood pressure medication are you taking?
Bill: None.
Daniel: None?
Chad returns with the gurney and he and Daniel hoist Bill onto it.
Jennifer: Where are you taking him?
Daniel: You need to stay out of the way, Jennifer.
Kate: I’ll call Lucas.
Daniel wheels Bill to the emergency room. Chad puts his arm around Jennifer.
Chad: Would you like me to call Abigail?
Jennifer: Yes, could you? I need to call my brother Mike. And my mom.
Chad: Sure. Don’t worry, Mrs. Deveraux. Your father is in good hands. So is mine.

Just kidding jkjpatch!! Loving this story even if I'm not a fan of Daniel. If him and Jennifer do stay together, I hope he can treat her with the respect and faithfulness that she deserves.

Enjoy your long weekend Kpatch. Thanks for the chapter. I never thought of the ER being Stefano. Poor Bill with the heartattack. Hope they save him like they saved me when I had mine.

Well okay then. Since several of my regular readers will be around on Monday, I will go ahead and post the next chapter of The Homecoming on Monday.
Actually, there are only 2 more chapters of The Homecoming left, so be sure to tune in on Monday and Tuesday.
