This is the 4th story in a series. The proposal was in the third story. It wasn't a sudden thing.

Previews for the coming week
Posting schedule: M/Tu/Th/F
Brady and Philip await word on Chloe’s condition.
EJ taunts Philip.
Here’s some preview dialogue. Feel free to guess who says what to whom.
“My, you’re dense today.”
“I feel like this is all my fault.”
“All you do-gooders are so predictable.”
“Exactly what did she tell you about that?”
“Are you that petty?”

Thanks for the previews and quotes. And if you want to add anymore previews to the TWO that you gave, feel free. Wish I could wendylou, but we're down to the final two weeks and I'm trying not to reveal too much information.

Now we know there's only two weeks left so we know some sort of resolution is coming soon. Thanks!

Chapter 25, Part 2
Melanie emerged from the examining room. She started to walk toward Maxine at the desk when Philip called to her.
“Mel! What’s happening? Is Chloe okay?”
“Um. We don’t know yet. She’s still under sedation. They’re hooking her up to an epilepsy monitoring unit right now.”
“Epilepsy?”
“Yeah. She had a seizure, so we need to check and see if it’s related to epilepsy.”
“Oh my god.”
“It’s standard operating procedure for a seizure, Philip. Um, I’d better go back inside. I’ll be back when we know more,” she said, stroking his arm. “Try to relax, okay?”
Melanie went back to the examining room.
Philip paced back and forth while EJ watched from a distance. He was about to approach, when Brady arrived.
“Phil, I was outside on a call,” Brady said. “Any news?”
Philip shook his head. “They’re running some tests.”
“Man, I can’t believe this,” Brady said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’ve seen Chloe in bad shape before, but not like this. Nothing like this.”
“I feel like this is all my fault.”
“Your fault? How?”
“How?? She had a meltdown,” Philip reminded Brady. “She thought I deserted her. She thought she could count on me, and I ended up being just one more person in a long line of people who abandoned her.”
“You didn’t abandon her, Philip.”
“Well she thinks I did. And you know something, Brady? It’s hard to argue with her. She’s been through hell these last couple years, ever since Parker was born, and I wasn’t there for her when she needed me most.”
“She’s had it rough. Can’t argue with that,” Brady agreed.
“I can’t even imagine what she had to endure.”
“Um. Endure?” Brady looked at Philip skeptically. “What are you talking about?”
“I mean, when you brought her to Chicago after getting beaten by the guy who was pummeling prostitutes.”
Brady measured his words. “Exactly what did she tell you about that?”
“Everything. She told me everything,” Philip explained. “She told me she was blackmailed into becoming a prostitute ... blackmailed by my mother of all people. Just one more way I let Chloe down.”
“What the hell are you talking about, Philip? You can’t blame yourself for that.”
“Really Brady? If I hadn’t left town with Parker, Chloe wouldn’t have been so desperate that she thought she needed to make money that way. It’s because I wasn’t there for her to lean on,” Philip said, convincingly. “I should have been here for her. This makes it twice now that I wasn’t there for her.”
“Philip, you were dealing with your own grief over losing Parker as your son. You can’t blame yourself for every bad thing that happens to Chloe.”
“Maybe. Maybe not. I just know that I need to be here for her when she wakes up.”
To be continued ...

Phillip needs to stop blaming himself for EVERYTHING bad that has happened to Chloe. He may have contributed but last time I looked, Chloe was an adult and responsible for her own BAD decisions.

I'm glad both Philip and Brady are there for Chloe. Not being wanted by her mother had to lead to abandonment issues. And having her best friend and fiancee suddenly turn his back on her had to be like a knife in the heart. I hope they get some answers about Chloe's health soon.

I wonder if Philip will voice all of that to Chloe when she is awake and able to hear it.

Still no answer as to what is wrong with Chloe. I am glad that Philip is taking part of the blame. Thanks for the chapter.

Chapter 26
Brady left the waiting area to make a few more business calls. After watching Philip continue pacing for a while, EJ approached.
“My word, if it isn’t young Kiriakis in the flesh.”
Philip looked up and shook his head. “Whatever you want, Dimera, go sell it somewhere else.”
“Is that any way to greet an old friend, my man?”
“I’m not in the mood for your games, Dimera. I have more important things on my mind.”
“I see. Are you holding vigil for a sick friend?”
Philip didn’t answer.
“No worries,” EJ said. “Why don’t you and I have a word in the private lounge?”
“Are you deaf, EJ? I said beat it.”
“Perhaps I should, but I have something to say to you that I think you’ll find very interesting. I’ll be brief.”
Philip sighed. “Okay fine. If it will get you out of my hair quicker.”
EJ gestured toward the small waiting area and Philip led the way. EJ closed the door when they were both inside.
“Okay,” Philip said, “make it quick. What’s this all about, Dimera? What do you want?”
“I have some interesting information for you. It’s about Ian. And Stephanie. And you. And Parker.”
To be continued ...

Oh I wonder how Philip is going to take it that EJ knew. This should be good. It can not be that Parker is Philip's because the DNA testing was done. Unless EJ set this whole thing up to hurt Victor. Can't wait for more. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch.
