Poor Chloe. I'm glad Daniel and the others were there to help. Philip is really worried about her. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.

Chapter 24


“I’m going to the hospital too," Philip said to Maggie and Victor. “And I’m taking Parker with me.”

“What?” Maggie asked. “Philip, that’s not a good idea. Leave him with us.”

Philip shook his head no. “He’s too upset. I don’t want to leave him.”

“I agree with Maggie, son,” Victor added. “He’ll be better off here in familiar surroundings than he would be at the hospital.”

Philip took a deep breath and set Parker on the floor. He crouched down to Parker’s level. “Hey, big guy. I’m gonna go to the hospital and make sure the doctors take good care of your mommy, okay?”

Parker reached for Philip’s face. “No, Daddy. Don’t go. ... I want my mommy.”

Philip cupped the back of Parker’s head and pulled him to his chest. “I know you do. Your mommy is going to be alright. I promise. I’ll come back as soon as I can. In the meantime, you be a good boy for your Grandma and Grandpa, okay?” He kissed Parker’s forehead and stood up. Then he nodded at Maggie and Victor, and left the mansion.

I'm glad Parker is staying with Victor and Maggie. I think he'd be even more frightened at the hospital. He wouldn't understand what was happening. So glad Philip is going to the hospital.

I agree that Parker is better off at the Mansion with people he knows. Why would Philip even think of taking Parker to the hospital with him. Children under 12 are not allowed. (Infection control reasons they are more at risk of having chicken pox and other childhood illness that the patients in the hospital don't need.)

I am thinking that there might be a Chloe and Philip reunion coming up. Philip is very worried about her. I was so hoping for a Mel and Philip. Thanks for the chapter. Really want to know what is wrong with Chloe.

I think Phillip just didn't want to leave Parker when he was so scared but he also wanted to be with Chloe. He wasn't thinking very rationally, just emotionally.

Chapter 25, Part 1


As soon as Philip arrived at the hospital, he went to the nurse’s desk on the third floor. “Maxine, can you tell me whether ....”

“Why Philip Kiriakis, as I live and breathe. What ill wind blows you into town?”

“Nice to see you too, Maxine,” he answered sarcastically. “Did Daniel bring Chloe Lane in here?”

“Yes, she’s being evaluated right now. ... Hmmm, Melanie’s in town too. I sure hope that’s just an unfortunate coincidence.”

Philip disregarded Maxine’s remarks. “If you see Daniel or Melanie before I do, can you tell them I’m here? I want to know Chloe’s condition as soon as possible. It’s important.”

“Ha. Everything’s important around here.”

“Maxine....”

“Keep your shirt on. I’ll let you know. Now if you don’t mind, I have work to do.” Maxine went back to keying information into the computer as Philip went to the waiting area. Meanwhile, EJ got off the elevator. He was clearly annoyed.

“Maxine, could you tell me where they’re holding the blasted board meeting? There was no one in the board room downstairs other than me.”

“There’s no board meeting today, Mr. Dimera. It’s New Year’s Day, a great American holiday for business people like you. Of course, if you’re a nurse like me, you have to work on weekends. And holidays.”

EJ touched his forehead. “Heavens. I don’t know what I was thinking. Board meeting is tomorrow. Of course. Must have done a little too much celebrating last night, had a few too many.” EJ looked toward the waiting area and saw Philip. “Is that young Kiriakis over there?”

“Uh huh,” Maxine said, focused on her computer monitor, not EJ.

“Interesting,” EJ mused.

Loved seeing Maxine. I could just picture her there. Yup I agree you don't get the holidays off when you are a nurse. She just feels so real to me.

Hum Philip and EJ could be fun.

Still no answer as to what is wrong with Chloe and today is Friday. Boy the healthcare system is as slow in the States as it is here. Hopefully we will have an answer on Monday. LOL. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch. Previews please.

I can picture Maxine as she is talking to both men. Wonder what EJ will say to Philip. I suspect it won't take much today to set Philip off.

EJ showing up certainly throws a wrench in things. Hope he doesn't keep Phillip (and us) from finding out what's wrong with Chloe soon.

I love Maxine too but honestly, if I were in Phillip's shoes at that moment and going crazy with worry I may have jumped across the desk. I would have no patience for her comments at a time like that.

Lots of drama at the dinner table - loved the way you conveyed the action Kpatch and Chloe's feelings were definitely believable and in character.

Which is why I wanted to smack Chloe. Why is she defining herself by the men in her life? They abandoned her, no one wants her, they only want the baby. Chloe needs to say SCREW IT to them all and stand on her own two feet. She's a mother, her only concern should be her child. I think she needs some mental help, not another husband. She has gone from man to man over the years and each time she lost a piece of herself. She had gotten over PPD and working as a prostitute, why was she proposing to Philip? She should have been solely focused on reconnecting with Parker.
