Wow what an eye opener with supper. I had no idea that Chloe was feeling this way. I even feel sorry for her, but can't believe that I would. Still not sure I want Philip and Chloe back together. So happy that Brady stood up for her. I think they would make a great couple. I loved them together before. Thanks for the long chapter Kpatch.

But part of this is Chloe's fault. Philip wanted to forget all about Stephanie showing up. Chloe's the one who kept talking about the paternity test. I can understand where she's coming from, but she can't lay all of this at Philip's feet - or Daniel's for that matter.
I want to know why she felt the need for a paternity test on the 2nd go round if she really wanted to be with Daniel initially. Since she claims that she was close to having what she wanted. Why not get one after the switch revelation? Why didn't Daniel request one? I'm not liking how all of this is being laid at Philip's feet. He may have been an arse by shutting down like he did, but everyone has their different defense mechanisms that they go through. And Philip may have drove Chloe to Salem, but he did not force her to pursue Daniel and Jennifer like a crazed maniac. Chloe made that decision all by herself.

I’ve always wondered why no one asked for their own paternity test, why everyone took the word of an 80 year old woman just because she said so. When Chloe returned to Salem in January, she had the definitive paternity test, so I needed to include that fact in this story.
I think that Philip bears a great deal of the responsibility in as much as he pushed Chloe away, wasn’t communicative and was only thinking about himself. But you are right, he needed to grieve alone before he could deal with anyone else’s problems.
As for Chloe, she has abandonment issues that stem from being orphaned. She feels abandoned and betrayed by her best friend and lover. I believe she went after Daniel to try to prove that someone wanted her, but that backfired. As she said in this last chapter “Everyone wants the little boy, but no one wants his mother.” She thought she had a future planned at numerous times in her life. She even tried to commit suicide once. It’s all cumulative. Seems like her coping skills are nonexistent. Now she is feeling lost and alone and can’t figure out where she belongs.
You are welcome for the long chapter. Splitting this chapter would have had a negative affect on the dramatic impact, so I needed to leave this one intact.

Glad you left it as is.. I still feel as a couple, you grieve together. They were engaged and very much in love. Did Philip really think Chloe wasn't also grieving? She had finally had the life she wanted and it all disappeared. Philip didn't help to dispense that idea by pushing her away & not including her in their grief.

I really think Phillip's reaction to this was influenced by what happened to him with Belle and Claire. He tried to hold on to them and Belle wanted to be with Claire's father. Both Phillip and Chloe have been through a lot of heartbreak and can't help but be influenced by that. Phillip was misguided but he was also trying to do what he thought was best for Parker by bowing out. I hope now he's going to realize how much pain his own reaction to all of this has caused and that maybe he and Chloe and Daniel can work to do what's best for Parker. They all really need to put their own feelings second to be there for him.
No one is without blame in all of this except for Parker.

But in Philip's mindset, Chloe hadn't lost anything so there was nothing to grieve about together. Parker was still Chloe's son no matter who the father was. To Philip he had lost another child. Between signing away custody of Pocket, losing Claire to Shawn, Melanie's miscarriage, and now Parker to Daniel....that's a lot for one person to have to take in.
It doesn't make his shut down any less harsh to others, but it does explain why he shut down. heck I probably would have too.
I feel sorry for Chloe for being pushed away and abandoned like she was by Daniel the first time, but I don't feel sorry for her feeling abandoned this 2nd time. As for Philip - he didn't kick her out of the apartment like Daniel did. He may have shut down for a while, but I don't think he completely abandoned her. She seemed to give up on Philip a little to easily too and moved on to seducing Daniel pretty quickly and throw Philip under the bus.

I'm so glad Chloe finally let all of those feelings out. Philip needed to realize how he treated her. He made her feel like he only wanted to be with her because of Parker.
I think she turned to Daniel for a couple reasons. After Philip tossed her aside without a second thought, she probably wanted to give her son a mom and dad who were a real family. That makes sense to me considering she grew up in foster homes and an orphanage. Or she felt like she could be happy if she could turn back the clock to when she and Daniel and Parker were a family.
Chloe has been through so much in the past few years...PPD, suicide attempt, forced prostitution, and severe beating. She finally was the happiest she's ever been with Philip and Parker. Then in the blink of an eye her life was torn apart again. She didn't do anything wrong this time and she still lost her beautiful future.

Chapter 23
Philip crouched beside Chloe and touched her hair. “I’m sorry, Chloe. I didn’t realize. You’re right. I should have been more communicative. I’m sorry, sweetheart.”
Philip reached for Chloe’s arm and she slapped his hand away. “Leave me alone!” She began breathing hard. “Oh my god. Oh my god. I can’t breathe.” She started panting and gasping for air. Her eyes grew wide as she looked at Philip.
“Daniel! Daniel, help her,” he begged.
Daniel pushed past Philip, and Philip backed off a few feet. Daniel kneeled next to Chloe and held her wrist. “Pulse is rapid and thready. Someone get my medical bag out of my truck. Stat.” He held up his car keys and Jennifer snatched them out of his hand and headed out to the car.
Philip looked at Melanie, his eyes worried and pleading. “Do something. Please.”
Melanie nodded and hurried to Daniel and Chloe’s side. “Dad, what I can I do?”
Chloe began kicking her legs involuntarily. “Help me hold her down. She’s having a seizure.”
“Oh my god,” Brady said. “What’s wrong with her?”
“Mommy,” Parker cried. He climbed off his chair and ran toward Chloe. Philip caught him mid-run and lifted him up. He bounced Parker in his arms. “Hey, don’t cry, big guy. Your mommy’s going to be okay.” Philip turned to look at Daniel and Melanie on the floor with Chloe. “She is going to be okay, isn’t she?”
Abigail held her arms out. “Philip, here, let me take Parker out of the room.”
Philip held Parker even closer in his arms. He didn’t seem to understand what Abigail said. It felt like everything was moving in slow motion.
Jennifer rushed back into the room with Daniel’s medical bag and Hope intercepted it and brought it over to Daniel. She kneeled on the floor and Daniel retrieved a tongue depressor. He placed it on top of Chloe’s tongue. “Hope, come here. Hold this in place.”
Daniel rummaged through the bag and quickly prepared a vaccination.
“What are you giving her?” Maggie asked.
“A sedative. We need to get her calm enough to transport her to the hospital.”
“The hospital?” Lucas asked with surprise.
“I’ve got my Rover,” Brady said. “I can drive her.”
“Good. Start it up,” Daniel ordered. “Hurry.”
Philip was breathing hard, mirroring Chloe’s breathing. “Oh god.” He hugged Parker closer still.
“Okay, I’ve got her sedated.” Daniel got up off the floor. “Lucas, come here. Help me lift her and get her into Brady’s car. ... Mel, Hope, I need you to come with us.”
To be continued....

Whoa, didn't see that coming. Can't wait to find out what's happening. I have no idea, can stress cause someone to have a seizure or is this something else.

Yes stress can really do a number to a person.. At first I thought she was just hyperventilating, but now I am not sure what type of seizure she is having. Darn, wish I had gone to Med school LOL

Sounds like a pseudo seizure (not sure if the spelling is right) It is one that is caused by a psychological trauma not by the neuro system. We had a patient once that got them when she was pregnant. Glad that everyone was there at the time. I am shocked that Daniel would have the Ativan in his bag. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch.
