I wonder what EJ has to say. Does he actually know something or is he just messing with Philip. Very interesting...

Chapter 27, Part 1
“I have some interesting information for you,” EJ said. “It’s about Ian. And Stephanie. And you. And Parker.”
“Excuse me? What do you know about any of that?”
Well, my friend, I know that it’s all a lie. Parker really is your boy. Your son.”
Philip looked askance at EJ. “What the hell are you trying to pull, Dimera?”
“Just trying to set the record straight,” EJ said coolly. “The story Stephanie told you about Ian? Completely fabricated.”
“What???” Philip was getting steamed, mostly because he didn’t feel like discussing any of this with the likes of EJ. He was afraid he was just being pulled into one of EJ’s tricks. “Why would Stephanie go to the trouble of telling a lie like that?”
“Oh, she has no idea she was lying. She thinks she was being truthful, doing the right thing. You see, I paid young Ian to tell her that Parker was really Daniel’s ... that there had been a double paternity test switch, so to speak.”
Philip’s heart started to pound. “That’s crazy. Why would you do a thing like that?” This didn’t make any sense to Philip. On the other hand, EJ seemed to know a few too many details.
“You might say that I owed your friend Dr. Jonas a favor. Haha. You see, he tried to cheat me out of an offspring of mine, told me that Rafael Hernandez was the father of Nicole’s child, when in reality, the child was mine. Therefore, I wanted him to feel the pain of losing a child, figuratively speaking of course.”
“I’m not following.”
“My, you’re dense today.”
“Got a lot on my mind,” Philip muttered dismissively.
“To put it plainly in terms you might understand, I wanted to get even with Dr. Jonas. He took my child away, so I am taking his child away, and giving Parker back to you. EJ Dimera giveth and he taketh away.”
Philip squinted at EJ and struggled to form a coherent sentence after that bombshell EJ just dropped on him. “Seriously EJ? Are you that petty? ... Forget I asked that,” Philip added quickly. He pondered EJ’s statements for a moment. “Here’s a good question for you. Why on earth would I believe a word you say?”
EJ pressed his hand to his chest. “You hurt my feelings, Philip. I wouldn’t lie to you.”
“Very funny. ... So, this Ian, the tech guy. If he was so crazy about Stephanie, why did he lie to her?”
“Money talks, my friend. And a drug addict like Ian isn’t very particular about how he acquires said cash.”
“Okay, I get that. But Stephanie ... she isn’t motivated by money. How did you rope her in? Did you threaten her? Did you tell her you’d lock her in a morgue drawer again?”
“I didn’t have to. All I had to do was pay Ian to tell her that the original paternity test was switched, and then switched again.”
Philip rubbed his forehead. He was a long way from believing anything EJ was telling him, but he continued to probe. “So you’re saying that Stephanie didn’t know she was just perpetrating your plot?”
“Poor unwitting twit.”
“Okay, but how did you know she would ....”
“Oh, all you do-gooders are so predictable. I knew she’d be consumed by guilt. She would just have to make things right again by telling you the ‘truth.’ I couldn’t have planned it better if I’d written a script for her.”
To be continued...

Love the twist you threw in here! Wonder how EJ got to the technician in Chicago that confirmed Daniel was the father. Hope Phillip asks about that!!

Hmmm...good explanation as to why this all happened but I am curious to see about the DNA test in Chicago too. They did have one if I remember right.

I can so see EJ doing something like that. I am wondering about the new DNA test as well. I know they had one because I remember being so set against it when Philip took Parker for it. Still no info on what is wrong with Chole.

Philip better not forget to probe about the paternity switch that he had performed. And how EJ would know that he would go to THAT hospital/clinic for the tests....
I'm starting to think that Paternity tests should never be done in the town you live in - even if it is a big city.

Very interesting that EJ knows so much about this. Getting someone to change a test result is child's play for a DiMera. Still wondering if EJ is being honest or playing yet another game.

Aw come one... this is a Kpatch fan fic.. of course EJ is telling the truth. She wants Philip to be Parker's real father. I guess EJ doesn't remember Daniel saved Johnny's eye! Personally, I have seen Daniel with Parker and they enjoy each immensely. To switch him back again would be downright cruel IMO.

I think he's telling the truth because I don't know how he'd know all the inside details otherwise.

Chapter 27, Part 2
“This is beyond belief,” Philip muttered. “You’re saying you did all this because you wanted Daniel to think Parker was his again -- temporarily -- just so that he would eventually find out that Parker isn’t his?”
“By George, I do believe he’s finally got it. Bravo Philip,” EJ said sarcastically. “Yes. Precisely. I wanted Daniel to know the pain of losing a child, and I wanted to be the one to inflict that pain. The doctor’s heartache is just about to begin, and I intend to have a front row seat.”
“Wait. Wait a minute. What about the paternity test I ran. It proved that Parker isn’t my son.”
“Excellent question. And here’s my excellent answer. The test you had run -- it was performed at Cook County Hospital, correct? Pretty clever of me to engineer all of this so you’d be taking the test on a holiday when most doctors’ offices are closed,” EJ laughed. “And do you want to know the real beauty of this plot? ... I," he said pointing at himself, "don’t need to lift another finger. You’re going to do all the work for me.” EJ paused as Philip squinted at him. “That’s correct. Here. I'll explain. I presume you’ll be running another paternity test. And afterwards, you'll be the one breaking the news to Jonas. ... Let me give you a bit of advice, Kiriakis. Next time you run that test, I would advise you to do it at a rural hospital, or even outside the country. You see, all the hospitals and police departments in metropolitan areas in this state are on the Dimera payroll. Perhaps even a few in Europe.”
Philip’s eyes widened and his chest tightened. He was starting to believe EJ. “Jesus! You’re not kidding, are you?”
EJ shook his head. “No sir. And you needn’t call me Jesus.”
“But what about ... what about me, and the heartache you’ve caused me and Chloe and Parker? Did you ever stop and think about what your vengeance against Daniel would do to us?”
“Certainly, my man. I analyze everything. Where Chloe and Parker are concerned?” EJ shrugged. “I have nothing against them. Innocent bystanders and all that. Where you’re concerned, however,” he chuckled, “well, let’s just call it payback for killing my brother. Not quite an eye for an eye, but short of trying to have you killed again, it will have to suffice. ... Looks like you’ve dodged another bullet, old chap.” EJ looked up toward the ceiling and let out a belly laugh.
Philip clenched his hand into a tight fist and punched EJ in the jaw. EJ stumbled backwards and fell onto the sofa. He rubbed his chin. “Nice right hook.”
Philip grabbed EJ’s lapel and pulled him to his feet. “You freaking bastard. You’re a sick twisted bastard, you know that?”
“I expected a simpleton like you to resort to name-calling and physical violence.” EJ brushed Philip aside. “Seems my work here is done. Good day Kiriakis.”
EJ left the lounge and left Philip standing there stunned. Was EJ was lying? Or was he telling the truth?
To be continued ...
