I agree SG. I don't see Chloe doing that.

What could be in that package. Oh if only Kpatch would take pity on us and post another chapter since we are Days deprived this week. It is so easy to guilt me into submission. LOL. I am seriously considering posting the rest of this chapter, if not today, then over the weekend. What would be better? Hmmm.

I want to know everyone's guesses for what's in the package. Then I'll post the rest of the chapter.

I really have no idea other than something upsets him. But since we have to guess to get the story I'll say...Chloe's engagement ring??? Don't even know if she had one.
Or something to do with Parker like a stuffed toy Phillip gave Parker.
If Chloe sent him anything to intentionally make him hurt even more than he already is you can just write me into that story as some psycho chick that kicks Chloe's butt.

Is it Chloe's head in a box? Like in the movie Seven? Okay, probably not.

I think it's her engagement ring. After the way he sent her away and wouldn't even talk to her I doubt she'd want his ring.

I want to know everyone's guesses for what's in the package. I keep reading that as you want us to guess the size of Philip's package.

Chapter 11 Part 2
“Wait. There’s more,” Philip added.
“You mean ... something else happened to you?” George asked.
Philip nodded and took a deep breath. “Today ... today was the worst day yet. I got a package this afternoon. Special delivery from Chloe. ... Idiot that I am ... I thought it was going to be a Christmas present. Ha!”
“Well, what was it?”
“It was ... it was one of my dog tags, the one I gave her as a symbol of trust,” Philip said, his voice starting to crack with emotion, “and ... her engagement ring.”
“Oh man,” George sympathized. “That’s low.”
“That about killed me,” Philip said quietly, tears filling his eyes again. “Felt like the last nail in my coffin.”
“But it didn’t kill you,” George replied encouragingly.
Philip smiled a half smile and looked at his wrist watch. “Hey, it’s getting late. You’d better get home to your family, George. It’s Christmas eve. You should be with them, not sitting on the floor drinking beer with me.”
George nodded and got on his hands and knees for leverage as he hoisted himself off the ground. He held out his hand to Philip and helped Philip get to his feet. “Say, I have an idea. If you’re not doing anything tomorrow ...”
“Ha,” Philip laughed wryly. “I’m pretty sure I’m not.”
“Well then, come on over to my place. The wife makes a huge ham, mint jelly, sweet potato pie, fruitcake, the whole nine yards.”
“That’s a really generous offer, George, but Christmas is for families.”
“No, it’s about more than that. Christmas is about the spirit of giving. It’s about having an open heart, and .... And it’s about forgiving too. Listen Phil, if you won’t come to my place, why don’t you go back to Salem. See your family. See Chloe and Parker.”
Philip shook his head. “I can’t be around Chloe anymore, not now that ... not now that I have no rights to Parker. It hurts too much. I need to let them be, make a new life.”
“With another man?” George looked incredulous.
“Not just any man. He’s her ex-husband, and they wouldn’t have broken up if it weren’t for me.”
“Exactly my point!” George interjected.
“That’s not what I meant. ... Look George, I ... I just can’t be around her anymore. She’ll always be Parker’s mother. But I’ll never be his father again. If we were together ... no, she’s better off with Daniel. She’ll be happier. Both Parker and Chloe will be happier. That’s all that matters.”
“I disagree, buddy. There are all kinds of families. Even if you’re not the kid’s bio dad, you can still have a place in his life. And if you love Chloe, you should be with her. Don’t throw it all away on a technicality, man!”
Philip shook George’s hand. “You’re a good guy, George. Better than any bartender. Thanks for listening to my sob story. From now on, I’m doing all my shopping at Jewel Osco.”
“Wait, Phil. Let me close up and I’ll walk you out, make sure you get home okay.”
Philip smiled. “I’ll be fine. Take care, George. And Merry Christmas.”
To be continued ...
