I feel the same way as MrsM, this is not Chloe's fault and Philip is being very immature. I understand he is hurt but it is like a child that can't play with a toy. He can't keep just ignoring the truth and better to deal with it instead. Maybe Parker isn't his son, but that doesn't mean Chloe can't still be with him and he could still be Parker's stepdad.. He can still be a large part of his life. Whew! Okay, all caught up on this great story now. I am not really that suprised by Phillip's reaction and his treatment of Chloe. I don't like it but I think I can understand it. First of all, he's devastated to have his world shattered but I think he's also rejecting Chloe as a defense mechanism. He loves Chloe and Parker but he can see already that once Daniel finds out, he is going to want to be a part of his son's life, probably a very big part so that even if Phillip wants to be a father to Parker, it's really not up to him. He has also been through this once before. He lost Claire and Claire's mother left him for her bio father. I can definitely see Phillip thinking "deja vu all over again." In his mind, no matter how Chloe is acting and what she's saying, he's already lost her. He's rejecting them and leaving them before they can leave him. Yes, it's immature but a very common, real thing people do all the time to try to protect their hearts. I feel very sad for Phillip and Parker, not so much for Chloe but that's b/c I haven't gotten over her behavior on screen after this happened. Great story Kpatch. Now that I'm all caught up I have to WAIT, for the rest. darnit.

Chapter 9, Part 2
“I’m going to take Parker upstairs,” Philip said. “... Dad, why don’t you come up with us. I need to talk to you.”
Chloe watched Philip climb the stairs with Parker in his arms. “Philip, wait.”
Philip stopped halfway up the stairs but he didn’t turn around. “Philip, I’m ... I’m going to take the car for a little while, okay? I have my set of car keys with me.”
Philip nodded without turning around, then he continued up the stairs with Victor following behind. He entered his old bedroom and put Parker down on the bed. Victor closed the door.
“What’s going on, Philip? Something is very wrong. I can feel it in my bones.”
Philip nodded. “You’re right, Dad.”
“Dare I hope that you and Chloe are calling it quits?”
Philip was too emotionally exhausted to be angry, but his father saw Philip’s eyes become watery. He sat down on the bed next to Philip.
Victor placed a soothing hand on Philip’s shoulder. “What is it, son?”
Philip drew a deep breath. “Long story short. We got a tip that Parker might not be my son, that there was a double switch with the original paternity test results. So I had my own DNA test done.” Philip looked at Victor. “It’s true, Dad. Parker isn’t ...” Philip had a hard time saying the words. It nauseated him to say it out loud. “He isn’t my son. He’s Daniel’s.”
Victor was taken aback, that stoic look of his dissolving into a pained expression. “Philip, I’m ... I’m speechless.” He shook his head. “I was expecting some sort of disaster. Any time Chloe is involved, it turns into a Greek tragedy.”
“Dad! Stop it. I don’t need the sarcasm right now.”
“I’m sorry, son. I can imagine what you’re going through.”
“Can you? Really? I don’t think anyone has any idea what I’m feeling.”
Victor nodded. “I might have an inkling. If you recall, I didn’t have access to either Bo or Isabella until they were adults. So I know what it’s like to be deprived of your children.”
“That’s not the same.”
“You’re right. It’s not the same. Ironically, the one child that I actually did raise ... well, I didn’t always do right by him, and I regret that fact. ... Does Daniel know?”
Philip swallowed hard. “That’s where Chloe went. She went to tell him in person.”
A voice from downstairs called to Victor. “Victor honey, I’m home. Are you upstairs?”
“I’d better go tell Maggie.” Victor stood up and gripped Philip’s shoulder. “Is there anything I can do, Philip? Anything at all?”
“You can lay off the jokes, Dad. And lay off Chloe.”
“Whatever you say, son.”
To be continued Wednesday...

Well that went well. Wonder how long Victor is going to be able to hold his tongue around Chloe?? At least Parker will still be part of Victor and Maggie's life since Daniel is Maggie's son!

Poor Philip, but I truly hope he isn't around when Daniel shows up.

I'm glad that Victor took it easy on Philip.

I'm glad to see Victor trying to be supportive of Philip. I hope Philip doesn't have to deal with Daniel today.

Loved that Victor was so great with Philip. I am still not liking the way that Philip is behaving. Chloe loves him and would have stayed with him. He did not need to lose Parker. It would have also been easier on Parker to adjust having Philip around.

Chapter 10
Victor left Philip and Parker in the bedroom upstairs. He came down the stairs, his footsteps falling heavily onto the carpeting.
“I thought I passed Philip’s car on the road,” Maggie asked when Victor reached the bottom of the staircase. “Was he here?”
Victor nodded. “That was Chloe you passed. Philip’s upstairs with Parker.”
“Well, I’d say that’s wonderful, but you don’t look happy he’s here. What’s wrong, Victor? Tell me.”
------
After Victor left the bedroom, Philip turned his attention back to Parker who was playing with a choo-choo toy Kate had given to him. Philip sighed heavily and lifted the boy onto his lap. He stroked Parker’s hair as he spoke.
“Oh man, Parker. I don’t know what to do. I just don’t know. You see, over the years, I’ve had to end relationships with a lot of people who were really important to me, people I really loved. But this one ... this is hands-down the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. And this one ...” Philip swallowed the lump in throat and whispered. “...this is one I’ll never get over. ... I can’t do it Parker. I can’t say goodbye to you.”
“Don’t say goodbye,” Parker giggled.
Philip smiled a small smile as tears rolled down his cheeks. “I would say I’ll call you, but I’m not sure that’s what’s best for you, you know? If I called or tried to see you, it would be for me, not for you. It would only confuse you. Do you understand?”
Parker shook his head. “Nope.”
“Yeah. To be honest, I don’t understand any of this either. I don’t know why life is so cruel sometimes. But, hey, just because we don’t talk, doesn’t mean I don’t love you anymore. Okay? Because I’m always going to love you. Please know that, Parker. Please remember that. Okay?”
The little boy nodded.
“And you know what? Someday, when you’re a little older, if you feel like getting in touch with the first man you ever called Daddy, just say the word. Say the word and I’ll be there so fast. I’ll always be there for you, big guy.”
Philip cried as he kissed Parker’s cheek and hugged him as tight as he could.
