wendylou, I am already having withdrawal. I hate the long hiatuses. Do you know when the next season will begin? 2015? I've been thinking about the episode too. I love how it ended with Don's iconic profile. He looked really good in that shot. You know, I didn't realize Peggy was in pants for the first time. That's a sea change! But I did notice that she was mostly in silhouette when she was sitting in Don's chair, sort of like the opening theme where the character is just a silhouette. Symbolic of women taking men's roles in the workplace. Bob is the classic "how to succeed in business without really trying" character. Do you know that movie? Robert Morse owned the role of the lead character, both on Broadway and in the movie in the 1960s. Really cute musical. And of course, Robert Morse plays Bert Cooper in Mad Men. Maybe there is some kind of hint in that and Bob will end up in Cooper's place at the end running the whole place.

Kpatch, did you see this? Two parts. I'm not sure how I feel about this. In one way it's good b/c it makes the show last longer but at the same time, we're waiting a long time for seven measley episodes and then we have to wait another year for seven more measley episodes. Anyway, now we know...it's gonna be a while. tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=827773&ocid=ansent11

Thanks for the info wendylou. That's disappointing. If they are going to the trouble of doing 2 more seasons, do two whole seasons, not one season that they are breaking up into two as if it's one of my fics that spills into a second parter. I saved the finale episode of the most recent season. I love to watch that last part where Don and the kids are looking at the house he grew up in and Joan Collins is singing Both Sides Now. Such a perfect song. Because Don has "looked at life from both sides now."

I'm getting excited for Mad Men. Only about two weeks until the premiere. Can't wait. It's crazy that it will only be on for seven weeks and then we have to wait another year.

I sure did Kpatch. It was great to have it back but I didn't have a lot of strong feelings about anything. I did feel really bad for Peggy at the end. Is she breaking down from a buildup of everything - trouble at the apartment, trouble at work and trouble with Ted or was it all about Ted? I noticed Pete mentioned that Ted is "sour" too. I hope we don't have to endure more of their affair. I really don't like them together. I'd personally rather see her with Stan. Don. Hmmm. Clearly he's cramping his wife's style. I think she was ready for him to leave. Also, Megan's house was scary and didn't do anything to put those Sharon Tate rumors to rest. I kept expecting someone to jump out of the shadows. I'm still not sure she'll make it out alive. Speaking of making it out alive, I can't believe Roger is still kicking with all of the drugging and partying an old man like him does! Other than that - not much. I'm interested to see where Joan's story goes. I liked her stepping up more yesterday. What'd you think?

Oh I loved it. I loved the ending with Don alone and afraid on his terrace, the impact of life finally catching up with him. I love how that other copywriter is ghost writing for him. I didn't expect that (as Peggy would say).
Peggy was heartbreaking at the end. Was that her brotherinlaw? I think she broke down for all the reasons you said, but also because she felt totally alone. Her brotherinlaw said he didn't want to leave Anita alone so he was going back to Brooklyn. Peggy doesn't have anyone wo would do that for her. In fact he left Peggy alone to look after Anita. OMG Peggy's facial expressions were incredible as the anguish came over her.
I forgot about the Sharon Tate rumors. The way she dresses is ridiculous. I can't stand Megan the character or the actress. She is just not up to the quality of the other actors on the show. I am okay if she gets killed off. Does she not know that Don is out of work?
How about Pete? OMG he went from being a stiff to embracing this freewheeling lifestyle. And Roger is a mess. I don't think he's a happy man.
Joan had the Mad Men brain in that episode. Poor Ken.

Oh Ken! He was crazy. He's done a complete 180. I guess he's got a lot of pressure on him.
I think California suits Pete.
Oh- and another thing, I'm so glad Neve Campbell was just a one-timer. At least it seems that way. Not a fan.
I didn't get that Don was ghostwriting for that guy but then when they revealed it it made total sense.
