It's not just that it's big news in the U.S.; it's big news throughout the world and considering how bad things are all the time everywhere, I like it. Somehow it makes me feel more optimistic that people in nations on the brink of war with each other are taking interest in something in common that is positive and that they have nothing to gain or lose from. It's the exreme rarity of that occurrence that has me so excited about the wedding - it's like it's a worldwide celebration - it won't last long but it's still nice to see.
