Philip: This is where you live? In hospital-subsidized housing?
Melanie: I like it here. The rent is cheap.
Philip: I’m assuming you cashed in my life insurance policy. You should be able to afford something a little nicer than this.


MAGGIE’S KITCHEN

Daniel knocks on the kitchen door.
Daniel: Hello Maggie.
Maggie: Daniel, come in.
Daniel: I need ... to talk ... to Chloe. Is she here?
Maggie: Yes, I’ll get her.
Maggie leaves and a moment later comes back to the kitchen with Chloe.
Chloe: Daniel, hi.
Maggie: I’ll leave you alone to talk.
Daniel: Maggie, wait. I’d like you to stay and hear what I have to say.
Maggie: Oh, of course. Let’s all sit down.
Daniel takes Chloe’s hand.
Daniel: I have some news for you. Honey, Philip is alive.
Chloe’s eyes open wide.
Chloe: Excuse me? What did you say?
Daniel: Philip is alive. God’s honest truth.
Chloe: Oh my god. Are you sure? Is this for real? Where is he? Is he alright? What about Wesley?
Daniel: I don’t know anything about Parker. Philip was by himself. He seems to be alright, except...
Chloe instantly rises from her chair.
Chloe: I’ve had this recurring dream that he was alive. I just knew ... I need to go to him. Where is he?
Maggie is looking back and forth at Daniel, then at Chloe. Daniel gets up.
Daniel: Chloe, please sit down.
Chloe yells: No! Tell me where he is! Now.
Daniel: He’s with Melanie.
Chloe: Melanie??? What? Why? That’s crazy. Why isn’t he here with me?
Daniel: He’s fine physically. It seems he has amnesia. He thinks he’s still married to Melanie.
Chloe: What? No. That’s ridiculous. As soon as he sees me, he’ll remember me. He’ll remember us. Tell me where he is.
Daniel: Okay, fine. I’ll take you to him. But you can’t say anything, you can’t push it.
Chloe: Why not?
Daniel: It could be very dangerous to his health. If he’s going to remember you, it has to be ... on his own.

I know that he loves Melanie and wants her back in the family..................maybe her brain washing will be next?

Funny how Daniel still calls the baby Parker! But yes, where is he? They must have some Nanny watching him because they know Philip can't see him because his memory is gone... poor Chloe. She is going to be so hurt seeing Philip love Melanie & not her

Seriously, jkjpatch...I'm not a crier, but this story has major tear potential. Philip doesn't remember his wife or adorable baby, after all the recent craziness...not nice of you!
But...that said, I do like the way this story is unfolding, esp the possibility of seeing the ruthless Victor Kiriakis that we all know and love!

MELANIE’S APARTMENT

Melanie: So this is my apartment.
Philip: You live in housing subsidized by the hospital?
Melanie: Uh huh.
Philip: Why? I mean, you must have gotten a settlement from my life insurance.
Melanie: Oh um, you know me, I like the simple things in life.
Philip: Since when?
Melanie: Since we’re not ... um ... I mean ... I don’t know what I mean.
Philip: Who are you and what have you done with Melanie? I’ve never known you to be at a loss for words before.
Melanie: It’s because I’m still in shock over you being alive.
Philip: I get that. I can’t imagine how hard this was for you. But I think I can help you get over the shock.
Melanie: How?
Philip: Like this.
Philip moves toward Melanie. She hesitates. He reaches for her and pulls her toward him, takes her in his arms and kisses her. She tries to push him away, but it’s been so long since she’s been kissed like this that she gets caught up in the kiss and begins to enjoy it. In the next moment she is pulling off Philip’s coat and undressing him. He picks her up and carries her into the bedroom.

Philip lays Melanie on the bed and slides on top of her. She takes his face in her hands and pulls him into a kiss, a long kiss that seems to never end. While that’s going on, she feels Philip inside her. She knows it’s wrong but it feels so right and she can’t stop it, nor does she want to.

A little while later in the afterglow, Melanie is lying on her side and Philip is holding her from behind, nuzzling her ear.
Philip: I’ve missed you so much.
Melanie: Me too.
Philip: I thought about this moment the whole plane ride back. I thought about holding you in my arms like this. Well, I didn’t think it would be here in this little apartment.
Melanie: Oh my gosh. I just remembered something.
Philip: What?
Melanie: We need to go to the pub. Quick. Get dressed.

This is a great story, jkjpatch! I love it! I've always had a soft spot for the Melanie/Philip pairing. They're cute together.
