You guys know how much I love them together. I have always been a big supporter of Chloe too. But even I was ticked at Chloe in the Cheatin Heart when she was trashing Philip, albeit inadvertantly...she STILL acted like he was not in her corner. The writers are using this to give Philip an excuse to leave and redeeming his parenting status, but ruining CHloe in the interim. I think that if she doesn't trust Philip by now, she isn't going to. They are writing her on a path to self destruction. Do I feel for her? I do. Do I think it''s wrong how she's being written? I do. But for Philip, this is better than what happened to Lucas I guess. At least he gets to take Parker with him.

I'm on the fence. I haven't seen the episode yet, but this is a pattern for Chloe. When she gets drunk, she acts irresponsibly. Last time we saw her drunk, she lost control -- of course she had some help, and who could blame her -- but Philip has a right to expect her to act responsibly and be a grown-up. She was more grown up at 17 than she is now. But that's another story.
Even so, Philip taking Parker and leaving is not the solution and, given Chloe's history and behavior patterns, will make matters worse, not better. Chloe needs some serious help and she's not getting it. She's the one who should be leaving Salem. Now there is nothing keeping her there.

This is just going to continue her downward spiral.

Yes, jkjpatch, I agree, but Jay is leaving and Nadia hasn't quit. Yet. If she had they could have written something lovely for them and sent them both packing like Belle and Shawn. If they kept giving me this crap and I was as beautiful and talented as she is I would carry my you know what somewhere where I could be given a wonderful story that showed off all of my assets not just the two directly above my waist.

It just stinks that Kate is the only one who got a nice goodbye. Thanks to the cut scenes the other day we never saw Philip go off on Kate. All he said to her was you are the one who put this in motion. Then they had a sweet goodbye. Victor didn't even get a hug. Philip could have hugged Chloe goodbye too. At least he told her that if she gets it together she can come see them and see where they go from there. Would it have been too much to ask for him to tell Kate to lay off Chloe for awhile?!

I get that people are upset with Philip for siding with Kate or whatever. The thing is,and don't throw anything at me,Kate didn't make Chloe go into that bar,she didn't make Chloe drink, and she didn't make Chloe say the things she said.Chloe did that all on her own,and it's not the first she's acted irresponsibly as jkjpatch pointed out.A 17 year old Chloe would have kicked everyone's ass from here to kingdom come, this version of Chloe lets everyone best her, then goes and gets drunk or just flat out does something stupid. She doesn't think, and then back pedals when she's left holding the bag of consequences for her actions. When a 17 year old Chloe screwed up,she took responsibility, this one does not.She passes the buck,"I did this because you did this, because you said this".Didn't anyone think she sounded like a four year old when she said "Kate and Melanie were mean to me!"?Isn't that statement a little odd for a woman of her age?So what if they were mean to her?Walk away and go home to your SON!

I completely agree. Out of everyone, Kate was the least deserving of a nice goodbye. He should have been way more upset with Kate.

Especially since she did try to murder Chloe and then talked her into throwing away her meds which led to the suicide attempt.

But the goodbye between Phillip and Kate is true to their relationship. She does something he doesn't like, he says she is out of his life for good and 2 weeks later they are back just the way they were. It is their cycle. Deep down he loves his mother and needs her in his life. Messed up? Yes, but it is the way I see their relationship.

It felt more like Lauren and Jay were saying goodbye than Kate and Philip.

It felt more like Lauren and Jay were saying goodbye than Kate and Philip. Especially when she said you will be back won't you and he replied I don't know.

It felt more like Lauren and Jay were saying goodbye than Kate and Philip. I thought EXACTLY the same thing. It was clearly a very emotional moment for Jay and Lauren.
