Chapter 4
DiMERA BASEMENT
ANDRE: This won't do, Rolf. It simply won't do.
ROLF: And why not?
ANDRE: Because, you heard what Stefano said. He wanted you to restore Marlena to her former glory, not transform her into a bad imitation of her past self!
ROLF: André, Stefano is dead.
ANDRE: I know that Stefano is dead, Rolf! I killed him! And if I were able to find a better doctor, I would kill you in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with you. Now, do the job I'm paying you to do, and do it correctly.
André walked out of the basement. Bart and Rolf followed.
DiMERA MANSION
By the time Tony and John got to the front door of the DiMera Mansion, André, Bart, and Rolf were already back upstairs.
TONY: Right, we're here now, but how do we get in?
JOHN: We're gonna pick the lock.
John got on his knees and began picking the lock. The door opened.
JOHN: There we go...gotcha!
John got up and the two went inside.
TONY (whispering): Well, now what, John? We've got inside, now how do we find Marlena? You don't expect André to simply welcome you into the Mansion with open arms and take you right to Marlena, do you?
JOHN (whispering): Of course not. But, I do have a plan.
TONY (whispering): And what plan would that be?
JOHN (whispering): You distract André and whoever else is here, and I'll look for Marlena.
TONY (whispering): Well, I'll keep André distracted for as long as I can, but it won't be easy.
JOHN (whispering): Well, just do the best you can.
John went downstairs.
TONY: Right, well, this should be fun.
Tony walked inside. André, Bart, Rolf, and Ivan were busily standing over the still bound Lawrence. They didn't even notice Tony.
ANDRE: Well, what do you propose we do with him?
ROLF: We could send him down to my lab and I could run scientific experiments on him.
ANDRE: After the way your "experiments" on Stefano's Queen of the Night have gone, I don't think so.
BART: Could feed him to the dogs, if you like, sir.
ANDRE: No, too messy.
IVAN: He would make a very handsome throw-rug.
André sighed.
IVAN: No, no, just think about it, Mr. DiMera. I mean, you could step on him all day and all night. And whenever he gets dirty, you could take him out and beat him.
ANDRE: Oh, Ivan, we couldn't possibly do that...
TONY: And why-ever not, André?
André, Ivan, Bart, and Rolf turned to Tony.
TONY: It's not as though you're above causing pain, or even murdering people, let along your own flesh and blood.
ANDRE: Tony! Well, perhaps my methods of keeping you out of the way weren't as effective as I had at first thought.
TONY: A little word of advice, next time you leave a man halfway untied, search his body and make sure he doesn't have the key to your chains hidden somewhere on his person.
ANDRE: You are one smart little boy, Antony...but so am I!
There was a long, awkward silence.
BART: Wow, this is awkward.
ANDRE: Shut up, Bart. But i'm afraid you're far too late to stop my horrible plan this time, dear Tony. It's already been set in motion. I'm the king of the DiMera Empire and anything I say goes.
IVAN: But not for long.
ANDRE: I beg your pardon?
Ivan walked over to Lawrence.
IVAN: You may have won for right now, Mr. DiMera. But not for long.
Ivan took the duct tape off of Lawrence's mouth. He then proceeded to untie Lawrence, who got up and walked over to André.
LAWRENCE: For soon, very, very soon, you will lose.
André looked from Tony to Ivan to Lawrence.
ANDRE: No!
