Hello everyone! This story is a sequel to my first story, Truth and Consequences, which you can find here to read in its entirety:

I know many of you have read that but if you need a refresher or just want the cliffs notes version, here's what happened:

Nicole sleuthed around until she found out the truth that Sydney is really her daughter. She is currently living at the Kiriakis mansion with Brady and Sydney and she and Brady are preparing to wed. Kate found out that Stefano had switched the DNA tests taken on the twins right after they were born and it turns out Johnny is indeed Lucas's son. EJ went into a rampage about everything, tried to kill Sami, but ended up shooting Johnny instead. At the hospital they found out that Lucas's blood saved Johnny and Kate announced the reason why. Sami and Lucas began bonding with their son. Nicole asked Sami to bury the hatchet once and for all for the sake of the kids. EJ is currently sitting in jail awaiting trial. It turned out that someone already in prison turned over evidence proving he was the Salem Drug Lord. Now Stefano is looking to get his son out and looking for revenge.

PROLOGUE

KIRIAKIS MANSION – BRADY AND NICOLE’S BEDROOM

Brady is kissing Nicole, caressing her face as they lay in the afterglow of having just made love. Nicole smiles as she holds out her left hand admiring her engagement ring.
NICOLE: You really do have exquisite taste, Brady. I mean, seriously, this ring is just gorgeous.
BRADY: Not nearly as gorgeous as you, babe.
NICOLE: Oh, Brady, sometimes I still have to pinch myself that we’re engaged to be married and that Sydney is really my daughter. It was all such a whirlwind. Can’t believe it’s been a month since all that went down.
BRADY: I know. And soon enough you and me and Sydney will officially be a family. I can’t wait to truly be her father.
NICOLE: I know, she’s already taken such a liking to you. You’re going to be such a great father to her. And she’s got Victor wrapped around her little finger.
BRADY: I’m so glad he’s been so receptive to her and to our situation. Not that I really cared what he thought about us. Something about kids that just goes straight to that little place in Granddad’s heart that he doesn’t always like to admit is there.
NICOLE: That little girl of mine sure is a heartbreaker. Oh my God!
BRADY: What? What’s wrong?
NICOLE: What time is it? Oh shoot! I have to get ready to go. I got to get to the bridal shop and meet Sami and Chloe.
Nicole gets up and starts getting dressed and putting makeup on.
BRADY: I’m still having a hard time picturing the three of you as friends.
NICOLE: <laughing> I know, right? Who would have thought? Anyway, I’m taking Sydney with me to get her a dress too. What are you doing today?
BRADY: I think I might go hang out with Lucas and Philip.
NICOLE: Yeah, you guys got it easy. All you have to do is show up in a tux and you’re done. Us girls have much more planning and primping to do.
She walks back over to the edge of the bed and leans down kissing Brady.
NICOLE: I’ll see you later, honey. I love you. I’ll call you later.
BRADY: I love you too. Bye.

SAMI AND RAFE’S APARTMENT

Sami and Lucas are playing the game Twister with Johnny and Allie. Everyone is laughing having a good time. Sami, Lucas and Johnny are all twisted up on the floor while Allie is in charge of the spinner.
ALLIE: Ok, mommy, RIGHT hand on YELLOW!
SAMI: Oh, geez, I don’t know if that’s possible.
JOHNNY: Come on, mommy, you can do it!
SAMI: Ok, um, ooh, maybe if I move a little bit this way, wait, just a little more…
LUCAS: You moved your foot! You can’t do that!
SAMI: What?! What are you talking about? I did not!
ALLIE: Alright, daddy’s turn. LEFT foot on BLUE!
LUCAS: Oh, crap.
JOHNNY: Daddy you said a bad word!
LUCAS: Oops. Sorry about that buddy. Ok, here goes.
He takes his leg and starts to swing it over Sami’s body to put his foot on blue but he slips knocking Sami to the floor and landing on top of her in a bit of a compromising position…just as Rafe walks in the door. Everyone is laughing at what happened. Rafe doesn’t look too happy.
RAFE: What’s going on here?
SAMI: <still laughing> Oh my goodness, I think these kids were trying to purposely contort me and Lucas into pretzels!
RAFE: I can see that.
Rafe eyes Lucas. Lucas takes the hint and grabs his coat.
LUCAS: Alright, kids. I got to go meet uncle Brady and uncle Philip. I’ll see you two soon. Sami, I’ll call you about picking up the kids tomorrow, ok? See ya Rafe.
SAMI: Ok, thanks for coming over this morning.
RAFE: Bye, Lucas.
Lucas leaves. Sami tells Johnny and Allie to head to their rooms and get ready to go to meet up with Nicole.
SAMI: So what’s with the attitude?
RAFE: No attitude.
SAMI: Please, you’ve been acting weird ever since the whole thing went down with Sydney and Johnny. What is your problem?
RAFE: It just seems like you’re spending an awful lot of time with Lucas.
SAMI: He’s bonding with his son!
RAFE: Does he have to do that here, with you?
SAMI: Are you jealous?
RAFE: No. It would just be nice to have a little more attention from you.
SAMI: I’m sorry if my attention is on my KIDS rather than my fiancé!
RAFE: Sami, that’s not what I meant. Come on, give me a break.
SAMI: No. You’re being ridiculous. And I don’t have time to discuss this right now. I’m taking the kids to the bridal shop.

Oh I'm loving the normalcy of this story already. The Twister game was so much fun and I could picture the whole thing. Love it.

Great start Sparky. I can't wait to see where you are going to take this story. Oh wait, I guess the title should be the first clue. LOL.

Great start!! Hard to imagine Sami, Chloe & Nicole all buddy buddy shopping together...What I'd like to see but will never really happen... At least we have it here!! ;D

I'm loving this story already!! Any story that starts off mentioning Lucas, Philip and Brady all hanging out together in the very first chapter you know has got to be on the right track - that is the perfect trio of hotness! And, of course you've got Brady and Nicole happy and in love and Lucas and Sami bonding with their kids!

CHAPTER 1

SALEM JAIL

Stefano is meeting with EJ at the prison. They sit across from each other at the visitor table while a guard stands off to the side.
EJ: Fatha, please tell me you have figured out a way to make these charges go away. I’m bloody sick of being in this rotten place.
STEFANO: Hmm, yes, my son, I understand your plight. Unfortunately, the lawyers have told me that the drug trafficking charges are pretty air-tight. And there were so many witnesses to the shooting of Giovanni. Plus, I was unable to use my influence to get Judge Fitzpatrick on the case. It does not look good.
EJ: <slamming his fist on the table> This is bullsh*t and you know it! You need to help me out of this!
STEFANO: I’m not the one who left a trail of evidence a mile long in this drug issue and I didn’t go off half-cocked at the Pier and nearly kill my grandson!
EJ: He is NOT your grandson! This is all your fault! You kept the truth about Johnny from me all these years! You’re the reason I was out of my mind that night!
STEFANO: <lowering his voice> Look, calm down, alright. I am working on a plan. I cannot get into specifics but someone named Vince will be visiting you soon. Do as he says and trust him.
EJ: This better be good. And soon.
STEFANO: It will be. Don’t worry. Ciao.
Stefano gets up and leaves. As he walks out of the prison visiting room he mumbles to himself.
STEFANO: Don’t you worry, son. You will soon be free and we will both get our revenge on the idiots of Salem. They won’t even see it coming. <laughing to himself>

SALEM BRIDAL SHOP

NICOLE: Hi, you guys! It’s so good to see you.
SAMI: You too! Sorry we’re late. We got carried away in a game of Twister.
JOHNNY: Yeah, and mommy and daddy ended up falling on top of each other so I won!
NICOLE: Really? Good for you Johnny! Why don’t you take Allie and Sydney over to the play area over there. Looks like they have some games and toys you guys can play with. The kids go trotting off. <glancing at Sami> Playing Twister with Lucas, huh?
SAMI: <sighs> Yeah, and of course Rafe walked in right as Lucas fell on top of me, so…
NICOLE: Awkward!
SAMI: You could say that.
NICOLE: You seem upset. What’s wrong?
SAMI: It’s nothing. Rafe and I got into a fight about it. I think he’s jealous.
NICOLE: Well, are you giving him a reason to be?
SAMI: I don’t think so. I mean, Lucas has been spending a lot of time with the kids, obviously, and Rafe thinks that’s also taking up too much of my time.
NICOLE: Hmmm. Sounds like you’re enjoying the family time with Lucas and the kids.
SAMI: <smiling> It has been really great having Lucas back in town and I have just loved watching the bonding between him and Johnny. It’s so sweet.
NICOLE: I can see why Rafe would be jealous.
SAMI: Ugh! Don’t tell me you’re taking his side!
NICOLE: Well, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate your life. You’ve been through a lot lately with everything with Sydney and Johnny and EJ. And now all your kids have one father, someone you once thought was the love of your life. There’s a level of comfort there. All I’m saying is maybe you need to take a step back and figure out what you want out of life. I agree with you that your kids should be your top priority and you should be doing all you can to forge that bond between Johnny and Lucas. But I can see Rafe’s side of this too. He probably feels left out.
SAMI: Yeah, I suppose. Anyway, let’s not talk about that anymore. This day is about you! I’m sure we’ll find you the perfect dress.
Just then Chloe comes in.
CHLOE: Hi! Sorry I’m late. Parker was being fussy when I left him with Maggie so I was trying to calm him down.
NICOLE: That’s ok. We were just getting ready to start looking at the dresses. I’m thinking something with a halter neckline, slightly form fitting, and sparkly!
CHLOE: Oh I love that idea. Of course you’ll look good in any dress, I’m sure!
NICOLE: Well, I don’t know about that!
SAMI: So what about the bridesmaid dresses? What color are you thinking of?
NICOLE: Definitely blue. You two always look good in blue.
SAMI: I think everyone in Salem looks good in blue.

Funny line about the blue!!! So great seeing 3 friends bonding & confiding in each other... But I am worried about Stefano...what devious plan does he have now?

I LOVE NICOLE! She is so sensible and reasonable. And Sami is listening to her good advice. If only!

The Stefano/EJ conversation was so vivid. Great job of capturing the "voices."

CHAPTER 2

SALEM JAIL

EJ is pacing in his jail cell acting rather fidgety.
EJ: <mumbling quietly to himself> Where the hell is this “Vince” guy? For God’s sake, Fatha, you could have given me a little more info about when this is going to happen. Hmmm. I hope this works. I need to get out of this stinking place.
He now hears footsteps coming toward his cell. He looks up to see a guard at his cell door.
GUARD: Mr. DiMera, I understand you’re not feeling well this afternoon and need to go to the infirmary.
EJ looks at the guard a little funny. He then glances down at his nametag – Vince. He smiles.
EJ: <feigning pain> Yes, sir, I’ve been having such bad stomach cramps and feel like I’m going to pass out. I think I have a fever too. Can you take me to the infirmary to be checked out?
Vince opens the cell door and motions for EJ to come out and starts leading him down the corridor. When they come to the door to the infirmary, Vince pulls EJ a little closer and speaks in a low voice.
VINCE: Alright, listen to me carefully. Currently the infirmary is closed as the staff is on their lunch break. I’m going to let you in there and then lock the door behind you. You’ll find hidden in the closet a guard’s uniform. Put it on and shove your prison uniform in the garbage chute in the back left corner of the room. I’m going to go around to the other side and unlock the other door. You got two minutes.
EJ goes into the infirmary and does as he was told. He steps over near the other door waiting for Vince to open it up. He sees the lock start to turn. He has a look of relief on his face when he sees Vince, who motions him out.
VINCE: <barely whispering> Ok, we’re going to go down this corridor here. There’s a back exit door on the left.
When they get to the end of the corridor, Vince opens the door and points to the black SUV parked just outside. EJ gives Vince a look of thanks and then slips out the door. He jumps into the waiting SUV and it drives away.

BRIDAL SHOP

Nicole and Chloe start pulling dresses of the racks while Sami keeps an eye on the kids. They both gather up an armful of dresses and head back to a private dressing area in the back of the shop. They even have some dresses for Allie and Sydney to try on as well as a tuxedo for Johnny to wear. They all start trying on dresses and oohing and ahhing at the ones they like. Nicole stands there in front of the three-way mirror admiring her dress.
NICOLE: I think this is the one!
SAMI: I love it. It accentuates you in all the right places. Beautiful!
CHLOE: Brady is going to want to rip that off of you. Damn, you look hot!
They all start laughing. Unbeknownst to them there are several masked men hiding in a storage room at the back corner of the private dressing room keeping a watchful eye on the women and children.

I hope the SUV that EJ got into takes a ride on the highway to hell. Who are the men watching the women??? I hope it is someone that Brady hired to keep an eye on the women. I hope he is one step ahead of the Dimeras. OMG this is intrigue at its finest.

I could absolutely picture Nicole standing in front of that 3-way mirror! For a second I wondered why Chloe said that Brady is going to want to rip the dress off Nicole. I was thinking she's marrying EJ. Getting the show mixed up with this story. Now I know how everyone else feels!

LOL! That's funny you thought she was preparing to marry EJ! ;D See, if I hadn't taken so long to write this story it probably would have flowed a little better. A lot of other stuff has happened on the show since the time I wrote T&C but yet this story picks up a month after that story.

I hope EJ is headed for hell too!

I kind of half way expect Stefano to be setting EJ up for a bigger fall... or maybe that's just me wishing.
