I LOVE it, Sparkster!!!   How did you ever guess that EJ and Rafe both dying in a shoot out would appeal to me? ;D (okay, I tried to type that with a straight face but couldn't quite pull it off)... but you did even better than that, you let Sami be the one to finally kill EJ (and bullet riddled makes me think that my girl finally listened to me about emptying the cartridge into him) ... and even more than that you had Lucas & Brady holding EJ down until they saw what Sami was going to do and that they simply moved out of her way and let it happen!! I knew I loved those two for many reasons!  In time maybe Sami will make a full recovery and then she will see that what she meant to say was "EJ killed Rafe and I killed EJ...how is any of that not okay?" I am a bit surprised by John and Roman though ... pleasantly surprised of course, but surprised all the same. When I was reading the beginning of their encounter with Stefano and he was taunting them that they didn't have the cajones to kill him, I was thinking maybe not but between them they sure managed to raise a daughter that just killed your son! I also enjoy that Roman's reason for killing Stefano was because he is the reason that EJ exists in Salem (that's definitely my biggest beef with Stefano). I am thoroughly enjoying this story!!! ... and I am honored that you dedicated such a fabulous chapter to me! |

THE FINAL CHAPTER
ABOARD TITAN JET HEADING BACK TO SALEM
BRADY: I’m so glad you and Marlena decided to come back to Salem with us.
JOHN: Well, we were planning on coming into town for your wedding anyway so this will just be more of an extended visit. Your sister is really going to need Doc’s help right now.
BRADY: I think we’re all going to need some psychiatric help after what happened the past few days.
JOHN: Luckily we don’t need to worry about the DiMera’s ever again.
SAMI: Daddy, do you think Rafe’s family is going to buy the explanation we give them as to why he’s dead? What if they want to open up an investigation?
ROMAN: I think it will be fine. We need to stick to the story we discussed.
SAMI: Why are you taking this so lightly? Rafe died! EJ killed him!
ROMAN: Sweetheart, you know how much I respected Rafe. He was a good man. This shouldn’t have happened. He shouldn’t have died. I’m so sorry you have to deal with that on top of everything you just went through with this ordeal. But you need to think about yourself and your children. If an official investigation gets opened up then we’ll all be in a heap of trouble.
MARLENA: Sami, none of us is proud of what happened back in Como and it’s going to take some time to heal from all of that. I know it’s difficult to do right now, but you need to think big picture. You and the children are safe and EJ and Stefano will no longer be a threat. You’re mourning for Rafe right now, and that’s perfectly ok. I’ll be here for you as long as you need me.
Marlena hugs Sami in a long warm embrace.
SAMI: Thanks, Mom. I’m really glad you and John are coming back with us.
Brady gets out of his seat and goes to sit next to Nicole.
BRADY: How you holding up, hon?
NICOLE: It’s all such a blur. I just can’t wait to be home with my little girl and forget this whole nightmare ever happened.
She looks down lovingly at a peacefully sleeping Sydney. She gently brushes her fingers over Sydney’s hair.
NICOLE: She’s so beautiful. <she starts to get choked up> I just can’t imagine if I never saw her again….
BRADY: <taking Nicole in his arms> Shhhh….It’s ok. I know you were so scared. I couldn’t have imagined never holding you again. We’ll get through this. Together. As a family. I love you.
NICOLE: I love you, too.
Sami now sits with Lucas who is with Johnny.
LUCAS: Hey you.
SAMI: How’s my little man there?
LUCAS: I think he’s close to taking a nap. I’ve been trying to bargain with him, huh, buddy?
JOHNNY: I’m not tired.
SAMI: Johnny, it’s a long trip back to Salem. You should try to get some sleep.
JOHNNY: But I’m afraid you’ll be gone again when I wake up.
Sami starts to tear up a bit.
SAMI: Oh, sweetie. I’m not going anywhere. Everything is going to be fine from now on, I promise.
LUCAS: Your mommy and I love you so much Johnny and we’re not going to let anything like that happen ever again.
JOHNNY: Daddy?
LUCAS: Yeah, buddy?
JOHNNY: Do you love Mommy as much as me?
Lucas and Sami exchange a smile.
LUCAS: You bet, Johnny. <he turns to Sami> I’ve always loved your mother. And I’m always going to be here for you, for Mommy, for Ally and Will, no matter what.
He reaches over and takes Sami’s hand. She pulls Johnny close to her.
SAMI: I love you guys so much!
THE END!

Aw, I loved this story so much. But now I want to go to Nicole and Brady's wedding.
Great characterizations, Sparky. So true how Sami can't forget what happened but Nicole wants to forget it. I could picture that plane ride home, and everything else. Great job, start to finish! Looking forward to your next endeavor!

Note to self: never read another Sparkster story from start to finish in one sitting. Never again. No sir. That was some roller coaster ride; my head is still spinning and my stomach a bit queasy (your graphic warnings are to be heeded, for sure) but man, was that a blast! There was so much that was perfect about this Sparky...Sami's dialog."Wow, Nicole, I'm impressed." I could picture her cocking her head and saying those those words. Lucas, the tough guy, man of action. (God I miss him!) He had the BEST lines.."sick freaks". You know him well. ;)The Salem PD working together? Awesome. From Bo and Roman (Commander Roman...yay! Bo should never have become Commander  ) To Roman and John...man it was like the olden days. Sigh. I loves me some Brady men (John included ) Then there were the oh so wonderful surprises...Shane  And Joe! I could go on. And on. Bravo, Sparkster. Yes, Roman was nearly perfect. And Lucas most certainly was too. Hated that Rafe died. O truly believe Sami and Lucas would find their way back to each other if he would just stay in Salem. Thank you for that little treat. |

I'm glad you liked the story AtD! I suppose that is a lot to take in all in one sitting. ;D Thanks to everyone who read my story. I appreciate all the comments.  I wrote this story as a way to eliminate Salem of the DiMera's. I think they've served their purpose and I wouldn't shed a tear if they were to be permanently gone. I'd be cheering, in fact. I also wanted to show the Salem PD as an intelligent, competent force, fully capable of solving a case. I'm also sick of everyone else in Salem looking like complete fools in order to prop up the latest DiMera scheme so this time I made the DiMera's look like the idiots. It was a tough choice to have EJ kill Rafe. I just think the impact of that was more powerful and led Sami to realize the only way to get EJ out of her life was to kill him, for real this time! I don't think I'll do a sequel to this story but I do have another story in mind right now that Dancing Days actually gave me the idea for. I haven't started writing it yet so be patient with me. LOL. I promise not to keep you all hanging on for 4 months like I did with this story. ;D |

Oh yes!!! I do recall. Can't wait to read it. This one was admittedly hard to read, but I still enjoyed it (minus the one tiny detail ). Thanks for not killing him again. LOL |
