Actually maybe this is good. I am sure Vivian will want revenge for her son's murder...and she can get around the laws that the SPD has to follow.

Chapter 39 ST LUKE'S Many people were coming into the church. Nicholas stood by one of the pews. Vivian walked up. VIVIAN: Oh, hello Nicholas, my darling. NICHOLAS: Hi, Aunt Viv. Nicholas and Vivian hugged. VIVIAN: So, I want to show you what I brought along. Vivian turned so nobody but her and Nicholas could see that she brought a gun. NICHOLAS: A gun?! VIVIAN: Ssh! Keep your voice down! We don't want the whole world to know. NICHOLAS: Aunt Vivian, are you crazy? What am I saying? Of course you are. Why would you bring a gun here? This is a church! VIVIAN: Yes, I'm quite aware that this is a church, Nikki. But, my poor son Philip was murdered in cold blood, and I want to find the person responsible. I'm sure that the killer will be here today. And when I see them, I'll know. NICHOLAS: Oh, Aunt Vivian, not another revenge plot VIVIAN: Yes, another revenge plot. I'm going to find my son's killer and bring them to justice. Alamain style. A wicked grin spread across Vivian's face. SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Shawn-D and Claire were in the room that Belle was staying in. Daniel was there, as well. DANIEL: I am so...sorry...Belle. But you are...not...well enough...to leave...yet. BELLE: But I need to go! I have to be there! I have to be at Philip's funeral! SHAWN-D: Belle and Philip were very close. They have been since high school. Isn't there something you can do? DANIEL: No. I'm sorry...but...Belle...is not...strong enough...to leave yet. BELLE: But, I have to! Shawn-D walked over and sat down next to Belle. He put his arms around her. SHAWN-D: Hey, it's okay. Ssh. It's all right. Look, you gave me that message to read. And I will, I promise. And I'll come back after the funeral. Okay? Belle nodded. SHAWN-D: Okay. Shawn-D and Belle kissed. SHAWN-D: I love you. BELLE: I love you, too. Shawn-D and Belle kissed again. Then, Shawn-D stood up. SHAWN-D: We'll be back soon. CLAIRE: Bye, Mom. ST LUKE'S A few minutes later Shawn-D and Claire arrived. Once everyone had arrived and was in there seats, the Priest walked up the isle. He bowed at the cross, then turned to the congregation. PRIEST: Good morning. CONGREGATION: Good morning. PRIEST: Brothers and sisters in Christ, we gather together in remembrance and to celebrate the life of our dear brother in Christ, Philip Robert Kiriakis. |

Chapter 40 NOTE: This chapter is a selection of events from Philip's funeral. Whenever *** appears, it means that some time has past. ST. LUKE'S The congregation were just finishing the song "Amazing Grace". CONGREGATION (singing): When we've been here ten thousand years...bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing God's praise...then when we've first begun. Bo walked up to the lectern. BO: Today's reading is taken from Saint Paul's second letter to the people of Corinth, the fourth chapter, beginning at the fourteenth verse. Because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us... *** The Priest was standing at the lectern, reading the Gospel. PRIEST: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.... *** the congregation were finishing "On Eagle's Wings". CONGREGATION (singing): And He will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hand. The priest stood. PRIEST: Now is the time when, should any of Philip's friends or family wish to say a few words, they may do so. The Priest sat back down. Shawn-D was the first to get up and walk towards the casket. After a moment, he walked to the lectern. SHAWN-D: Philip and I were friends. Though, if you saw us during college, you might not have known it. Things weren't always great between us. We both did a lot of stuff we regret. We would say and do stuff to each other that was pretty bad. At the time, I thought Philip was doing it just to be mean. But now I see that he was doing all this stuff to make me take responsibility, to make me a better person. I thank him for that. And as time went on, we became friends again. In fact, we became as close as brothers. THE FUNERAL WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW |
