PENITENTIARY

Chloe has left the viewing room and she’s sitting in the outer room. She decided that she doesn’t need to actually see Victor and Kate die in order to have closure. Seeing the execution was likely to give her nightmares, and she didn’t want them to haunt her dreams, so she just waited to hear that they were gone. But no one needed to tell her. The lights in the room surged twice, meaning they were dead. The crowd streamed out of the viewing room and Sami stopped to look at Chloe. She sat down next to her.
Sami: They’re toast.
Chloe: Good.
Sami: Lucas told me you left Philip.
Chloe: Lucas is quite a gossip.
Sami: He cares about his brother. He even cares about you.
Chloe: I’m fine Sami.
Sami: Bull.
Chloe: Sami, come on, we’re not friends. I don’t need you doing some kind of intervention on me.
Sami: I’m more qualified to do an intervention than anybody. I lived through Kate’s plans to sabotage my relationship with Lucas again and again and again.
Chloe: Was it worth it?
Sami: If I had a choice, I’d have done it differently, but yeah, it was worth it. I love Lucas and, try as she might, Kate couldn’t kill that.
Chloe: Well then, you’re the lucky one.
Sami: You know who I pity?
Chloe: Let me guess. Me.
Sami: No. Philip. Talk about a double whammy. Lucas only had one insane parent. Philip had two.
Chloe: Three if you count Vivian.
Sami: Good point. But Chloe, what his parents did to you guys isn’t his fault. Don’t you think he’s suffered enough?
Chloe looks at Sami but doesn’t answer.

 
THE LAKE HOUSE

Philip is looking out the window at the media circus on the front lawn. He sees Chloe’s car pull into the garage and he realizes the execution is over, and she’s coming to take Wes. He heads for the garage to see if she needs help fending off the paparazzi. His cell phone rings and he looks at the display before answering.
Philip: Hey Lucas.
Lucas: It’s over.
Philip: You okay?
Lucas: I’m sort of numb. How about you?
Philip: I don’t know. It doesn’t seem real.
Lucas: If you had watched the executions, it would seem real.
Philip: Listen, Chloe just walked in. Can I call you later?
Lucas: Sure. Whenever.
They hang up.

So Sami's the unexpected source and she actually made a lot of sense. I think she got through to Chloe, at least I hope so!

Sami. I love you. You were just the right person to talk to Chloe. It is great that she got through to her. The best line was Lucas had only one insane parent Philip had two. What a great ending with Lucas and Philip talking and Chloe walking in. Thanks for the great chapter.

Wow!! I wasn't expecting Sami! But she was the perfect one to do so tho!! She made some very good and very valid points.

Chloe almost irritated me when she expected Sami to say she pitied her. I love that Sami set her straight about the parents and loved the crack that Chloe made about including Vivian in that count.

Sami was the perfect person to understand Chloe's situation. I hope she got through to Chloe. Looking forward to Chloe and Philip's conversation. It's a bit shocking that Victor and Kate weren't able to pay off a governor for a last minute reprieve. Not that they deserved one.

I am just hoping Victor and Kate don't come back from the dead. I would have felt better if I had seen it with my own eyes. (or read it )
