THE LAKE HOUSE, ONE WEEK LATER

The media frenzy surrounding Kate and Victor’s upcoming executions was out of control. Reporters were camped out on the front lawn as newspaper headlines from the Salem Gazette to the Wall Street Journal editorialized about the downfall of the Titan titan and his former wife. Philip knew that most everyone would be there today, they would be at the penitentiary to witness the execution. But he couldn’t bring himself to go. He wasn’t really sorry that his parents were going to die this way, but he also didn’t feel compelled to watch. So he opted to stay home.
 

PENITENTIARY, EXECUTION VIEWING ROOM

Lucas, Sami, Daniel, Bo, Hope, Brady, Justin, Adrienne, Austin, Billie, Carly, Nicole, Roman, Caroline, Maggie and others are all seated in the viewing room. Chloe arrives, only to find it’s standing room only as dozens of Victor and Kate’s friends and enemies have gathered to watch the show.
 
Nicole: Chloe, here! Come on girlfriend. I saved you a seat.
Chloe sits down next to Nicole.
Nicole: What are you drinking? I’m buying. Oh garcon, bring us a couple dirty martinis.
Chloe: There’s no table service here, Nicole.
Nicole: We can pretend, can’t we? Where’s Philip?
Chloe: I don’t know. I thought he’d be here.
Nicole: What do you mean you don’t know? Girlfriend, what are you doing?
Chloe: What do you mean “what am I doing”?
Nicole: I mean, I know you’ve been through hell, but why are you giving up the one thing that matters most to you.
Chloe: I’m not. I plan to have Wesley live with me.
Nicole: Duh. I’m not talking about Wesley. I’m talking about Philip.
Chloe: There’s too much water under the bridge.
Nicole: Bullsh!t.
Chloe: You have no idea what I went through Nicole.
Nicole: And you survived. You got through it. You lived. Don’t let them win, Chloe.
Chloe: That’s what Philip said.
Nicole: He’s right. You two had everything. I am sooo jealous of you, girlfriend. You have a rich, gorgeous husband who adores you, a beautiful son and another baby on the way, your dream house. I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. Even with all the stuff Victor and Kate did to you. ... Ooh. Look, they’re about to get incinerated. Shh, let’s watch. Popcorn?

Gotta love Nicole. I love the way she says exactly what she thinks. I hope Nicole's words get Chloe thinking. Poor Philip. I feel bad for him home alone as this happens.
