Poor Philip. Loved that Justin told Philip that it was not him, but his parents actions that put them on death row. So funny about Victor having a better chance of dying of natural causes while waiting for all the appleals. Thanks for the chapter. Just really enjoying this part of the story.

MONDAY MORNING AT PHILIP AND CHLOE’S LAKE HOUSE

Philip and Chloe talked almost the whole night about the situation with Kate and Victor. They decided to try to put it out of their heads for now and live as normally as possible. With a second baby on the way, they had a lot to look forward to and they weren’t about to let anything ruin their lives.

Philip is standing in the kitchen dressed for work and drinking his morning coffee. He’s reading The Wall Street Journal which he has sprawled on the kitchen counter, when Chloe comes into the kitchen holding Wesley.
Philip: Hey sweetie. Hey big guy! Come here.
Chloe puts Wesley in Philip’s waiting arms.
Philip: What are your plans for today?
Chloe: I’m going to go shopping for maternity clothes.
Philip: You’re not showing yet.
Chloe: I know, but my clothes are getting a little tight across the bust.
Philip smiles and winks.
Philip: I’ve noticed.
Chloe: Stop. ... Actually, they’re having a sale at Ballistix and …
Philip: Chloe, we’re rich. You don’t need to shop the sales.
Chloe: Philip, I keep telling you. It’s not about saving money, it’s about finding a deal.
Philip: I don’t understand.
Chloe: I’m not surprised.
Philip: Be sure you have your Swiss Army Knife with you. I hear those sale shoppers can get mean.
Chloe rolls her eyes and laughs.
Chloe: You are probably the only man who has ever given his wife a Swiss army knife for their first anniversary … and lived to talk about it.
Philip: You wouldn’t believe what all we used it for when I was in the Marines. Someday you’ll thank me for it.
Chloe: You’re just lucky that there were a pair of diamond earrings to go with it. Otherwise I probably would have divorced you on the spot.
Philip laughs.
Philip: Are you taking Wesley shopping with you?
Chloe: No. Gabi’s going to babysit. I’ll get done much quicker if I go by myself. How about you? Big day?
Philip: I have a few meetings today and a client lunch. Then …
Chloe: What?
Philip: I’m gonna head over to the construction site to see how the opera house is coming. I thought for sure it would be completed by now. I’m sorry it’s taken this long.
Chloe: It’s okay. I don’t mind being a stay-at-home mom for now. I’ve got everything I need right here.
Philip looks at his watch.
Philip: I need to get going.
He kisses Wesley and puts him on the floor. Then he kisses Chloe.
Philip: I’ll see you tonight sweetie.
Chloe: Philip, wait. [She takes his hand.] It’s gonna be okay. We’ll get through this.
Philip: I can get through anything as long as I have you.
He puts his hands on her face and kisses her.
Chloe: I love you.
Philip: I love you more.
 

LATER THAT AFTERNOON AT BALLISTIX

Chloe is shopping in Ballistix’s maternity clothes department when someone approaches her.
 
Woman: Mrs. Kiriakis?
Chloe: Yes.
Woman: Mrs. Kiriakis, I work at Titan and I hate to be the one to tell you this, but there’s been a terrible accident.
Chloe: An accident? Oh my god. Is it Philip?
Woman: Yes, he was at a construction site and a girder collapsed.
Chloe: Oh no. Oh please god no. Is he ...
Woman: He’s trapped.
Chloe: I need to go to him.
Woman: Of course. I’ll take you there.
Chloe and the woman rush off.

Ohhh Noooo. I am wondering if it was Gus that set up for the accident to happen. Or did he set up for Chloe to be kidnapped. Questions, Questions. Inquiring minds want to know.
