Chapter 25
HOSPITAL – PATIENT ROOM
WILL: Mia?
MIA: Hey, Will.
WILL: So...you want to take Grace?
CHAD: Well, she is, technically, our daughter.
WILL: In what is probably the most technical of all technical senses. You realize that this isn't really Grace. This is just a clone of my baby sister, Sydney, made to believe that she's Grace.
MIA: Yeah, we know. Your uncle Bo told us all about it when he called.
CHAD: But, just because she's not our actual daughter doesn't mean that she couldn't be.
WILL: Okay. I think we can come to an arrangement.
MIA: What do you have in mind?
WILL: Joint custody. The three of us, as well as my husband Sonny, share custody of Grace. We can work out the actual times in which we'll see her and such later.
CHAD: We'll think about it.
MIA: I like that idea.
HOSPITAL – HALLWAY
MELANIE: I really am. I'm sorry for all that stuff I did to you.
STEPHANIE: Well, to be honest, neither of us was completely innocent in that.
MELANIE: I know. But, it was kind of my fault for taking Philip from you. Even if it was, mostly, unintentional.
STEPHANIE: Yeah, but I kinda went a bit overboard with the whole revenge/hating you for life thing. And, I'm sorry.
MELANIE: I'm sorry, too.
Stephanie and Melanie hugged.
ELEVATOR
There was another bang. This one was louder than the other. Ceri whimpered slightly and Sydney pulled her in tighter.
SYDNEY: It's okay. It'll be all right. I know that you're scared, but we'll both be all right.
There was a flash, and then the lights came on in the elevator. There was then a much quieter thud and a soft humming.
CERI: What was that?
SYDNEY: Ssh, it's okay. It's just some random noise.
CERI: I can feel us moving.
Sydney looked around.
SYDNEY: You're right. We're moving. Grandma must have found someone to get the elevator working again!
Sydney and Ceri hugged.
ROMAN'S OFFICE
Roman walked back into his office and sat down at his desk. He noticed a button was lit up on his phone. He pressed the button. A message started.
SUSAN (VO): Roman? Commander Brady? Are you there? I just wanted to tell you once more how much I love spendin' time with my little grandson Johnny. For some reason that I just don't un'erstand, my little Elvis never wanted ter let me see him.
Roman started laughing.
SUSAN (VO): Maybe it had somethin' to do with that mean, mean, mean, mean father o' his. Oh, I may have been away from Salem fer a long time, but I still remember that horrible Stefano! Then again, maybe it also had somethin' to do with that guy who raised Johnny after my poor little Elvis died. I think the man said he was little Elvis' brother or somethin' like that.
Roman stopped laughing. A look of shock came onto his face.
SUSAN (VO): Oh, fer the life o' me, I can't 'member his name. It was somethin' like Andy or Ant'ny. Somethin' like that. Anyhoo, thanks again!
Roman's facial expression went from shock to horror.
