Chapter 27 Remember how the last day of summer was always the day you wanted to stay the longest? And yet, it always seemed to be the shortest. For me, it never did. I wanted it to be the shortest, but it always ended up being the longest. It's not that I liked school, I just wanted to be able to get away from my father. A lot of people liked summer. But I never did.DIMERA MANSION ANDRÉ: I'm assuming you found out about me through that idiotic Dr. Baker. ROMAN (VO, over phone): No, Tony. Actually, it was Johnny's grandmother, Susan, that tipped me off. ANDRÉ: Susan Banks? I haven't heard from her since Elvis died. Well, I'll have to add her to the list as well. ROMAN (VO, over phone): What list? ANDRÉ: The list of people that I shall have to keep a closer eye on more often. ROMAN (VO, over phone): I see. And I suppose that I'm now also on that list, as I'm one of the few people who actually knows you're back in town. ANDRÉ: Oh, you've been on that list for quite a while. ROMAN (VO, over phone): So, how did you escape death this time? ANDRÉ: Well, of course, my death was set up by Stefano. He took me back to the DiMera Mansion and had me hide out there. Then, Elvis died. That was a heavy blow to him. And then, after Stefano died in that tragic accident (under his breath) which took quite a while to arrange (normal voice) I was the only remaining heir to the family. So, I had to keep my eye on young Johnny while still keeping a low profile. ROMAN (VO, over phone): So, what's the next step in your plan? ANDRÉ: Well, I would tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Oh, wait, I plan to do that anyway. ROMAN (VO, over phone): What da hell? There was a small bang. André pretended to wince and hung up his phone. ROMAN'S OFFICE Roman's phone fell to the floor. Roman himself was leaning back in his chair, dead. PHILIP & MELANIE'S APARTMENT – THE GIRL'S BEDROOM Ceri and Sydney were lying on a bed together, watching The Empire Strikes Back. Watch the scene that they are watching: SYDNEY: I have something to tell you. CERI: What is it? SYDNEY: I, um, I've never really been good at saying stuff like this. But... CERI: What is it, Sydney? You can tell me. You can tell me anything. SYDNEY: I love you. Ceri smiled. CERI: I know. Ceri and Sydney kissed. I never liked summer before. But this summer was different. Maybe it's because of Ceri. Maybe it's because I was finally allowed to visit my mom after five years. Or maybe it's because I was finally able to put some of my past and my issues behind me. Whatever the reason, I think I might have actually liked this summer. I think this might be the first time I might miss summer when it's over. For the first time in my life, I am really and truly happy. And it feels so good!THE END FOR NOW |

Roman certainly wasn't expecting that ending. I'm glad that Sydney is finally happy. Great story Andre. There were so many twists and turns. I'm looking forward to your next story.

Roman's dead? OMG. I noticed he called Andre "Tony." And Andre apparently set up Stefano's death too.
I think the purple calling card belongs to Johnny.
Wow, so many loose ends being carried over into the next story. At least Sydney is at peace.
