I liked the Peg Bundy mention. I'm glad that Quinn was only in a dream in this saga. Looking forward to finding out who's at the door.

Loved the chapter. So great that the APB worked and that Bo found Chloe and brought her to the safe house. Looking forward to seeing who is at the door. Thanks Kpatch.

THE SAFE HOUSE There’s a knock at the door signaling that someone they know has arrived. Philip goes to answer it. From the other side of the door, he hears Bo. Bo: It’s me, Bo. Philip opens the door and lets Bo in. He’s carrying a box. Bo: Hey man. Hi Chloe. Chloe: Hi Bo. Bo: I brought some more food. And there’s some take-out from the pub. ... Don’t worry, Ma doesn’t know anything. She thinks it’s for me and Hope. Philip: Wow. Thanks. This is great. Bo: Oh and Hope sent some books and magazines. Sorry, they’re not the latest. Chloe starts putting the provisions into the pantry in the kitchenette. Chloe: Mmm. Grape Nuts. Philip’s favorite. Bo: I’ve got some news. Philip: What is it? Bo: We haven’t found them yet, but we have people on the ground in Belize looking for them. Chloe: Triscuits. Love these. Philip: If they’re alive. Bo: If they’re alive, we’ll find them. Philip: It shouldn’t be hard. In a Caribbean nation like Belize, the four of them are bound to stick out like sore thumbs. Chloe: Ooh, Snapple in Papaya Mango flavor. This must be new. … Ah! And a case of wine! Thank you Bo! Bo: If we do find them, we’ve entered into an extradition treaty with Belize and we can bring them back to the states. Chloe: Extradition? Doesn’t that mean you have to charge them with a crime? Bo: Crimes. Plural. We’ve got about a dozen of them. We’ve got arson, attempted murder, conspiracy, transporting a minor across state lines, kidnapping, mind control, and malfeasance. Philip: Malfeasance? What’s that? Bo: I have no idea, but I like saying it because it makes me sound smart. Chloe: Malfeasance. It’s from the French. It means wrongdoing, especially by a public official. Bo: That’s what it means? That’s boring. Philip: Well, keep us posted. And Bo, thanks for bringing Chloe back to me. Bo: No problem. … On second thought, scratch that. It was a big problem. Listen, I thought my wife was high maintenance, [he gestures to Chloe] but this one …? Chloe: Excuse me, I can hear every word you’re saying about me. Bo: I wanted to bring her directly over here, but she insisted I stop so she could pick up some things from Eckerd’s Drug Store. I told her no, but she kept asking and asking … Philip: And asking. I know. Bo: She wore me down. Philip: Tell me about it. Bo: I feel for you brother. You’ve got your hands full. Philip: I know it. Chloe is staring daggers at the men. Philip winks at Chloe and holds his hand out and gestures for her to come over. She walks over to him and he puts his arms around her and kisses her cheek. Philip: But she’s worth it. Chloe puts her arms around Philip’s waist. Bo: Well, I’m outta here. I’ll be back in a couple days. You guys take care of each other.
To be continued …

Love how Chloe was more interested in what Bo brought then news about the foursome in Belize. Great way to start a dreary (weather-wise) Tuesday in the South!!

Oh, and Bo's line "I have no idea, but I like saying it because it makes me sound smart." was hilarious!!!! And so like him!! ;D

Funny how Chloe knew what malfeasance was and not Bo or Philip. She's not so ditsy huh!
I don't know why though I have this bad feeling about Chloe stopping at the drugstore with Bo.. eh, I could be totally wrong.

Chloe sounds like me in this chapter. I would be more interested in what food I was going to have then what Bo was saying about the case. I could find out that info later. I would also be asking to go to a store before not being able to get to one for a while. Love Bo not knowing what the word means but likes saying it because it makes him sound smart. Thanks for a great start to a rain filled day.

Chloe was commenting about the conversation so I saw it more as multi-tasking than ignoring him. I loved the reminder that Chloe's very smart. I can't blame Chloe for wanting to stop at the drug store on the way to the safe house. Of course she wanted the necessities like shampoo, make up and astroglide. Somehow I don't see her asking Bo to pick up lubricant when he drops by the safe house. LOL I thought it was funny when Bo told Philip he thought his wife was high maintenance. I enjoyed the product placement in the chapter.

THE SAFE HOUSE
Wesley is asleep in his bedroom. Philip and Chloe are sitting on the sofa in front of the fireplace with their arms around each other and they’re enjoying a bottle of wine. Chloe: What did you and Wesley do together before I arrived at the safe house? Philip: We talked. A lot. Chloe: You talked? About what? Philip: About everything. You know. Guy talk. Chloe: Interesting ... considering the fact that Wesley has maybe 20 words in his whole vocabulary. How did he hold up his end of the conversation? Philip: Mostly with looks, nods, random babble, and gestures. He’s very expressive. He takes after his mother, the diva. Chloe: Ha ha. ... I wonder what day it is. Philip: It’s Wednesday. Jeez Chloe, it’s only been about 36 hours since you got here. Chloe: Is that all? Philip: Yes. Chloe: Feels like I’ve been here for ages. I feel like Robinson Crusoe. Philip: I get that. It’s because you have no electronics. No iPad, no Internet, no Facebook, no access to your twitter account. Just a couple low-frequency local television stations. Must be hell for you. Chloe: Very funny. I’m bored, Philip. There’s nothing to do. Philip: I feel like I’m raising two children here. A boy and a girl. Chloe: Don’t be mean. Philip: Maybe you’re bored, but I kind of like it here. Chloe: You do? Philip: Yeah I do. I don’t have to go to the office, or to hospital board meetings. I don’t have to do anything except concentrate on you and Wes. Chloe: Hmmm, I like the way you think. It’s sort of like when we were hunting for Wesley. It was just the two of us and we were focused on one goal and it was the only thing in the world that was important. I just hope … Philip: You hope what? Chloe: I hope we don’t have to spend his second birthday here. It doesn’t seem fair to him. Philip: He’s fine. ... Chloe, I once told you I don’t care if we live in a cardboard box, as long as the three of us are together. I meant that. Chloe: I think I was the one who said that. But you know that … Philip: What? Chloe: You know that I don’t need a lot of things either. I can get by with nothing. With all the blessings life can bring, I’ve always needed something. But I’ve got all I want when it comes to loving you. You’re my only reason, you’re my only truth. Philip: You don’t need a lot of things … except for your supply of shampoo and makeup. Chloe hits Philip playfully. Chloe: Enough joking! [She folds her arms defiantly.] Way to break a mood, soldier. Philip: I’m sorry. He gets up. Philip: Come here, sweetie. Let me make it up to you. Dance with me. Let’s dance to our song. Chloe: But there’s no music. Philip: Really? No music, Opera Girl? Chloe smiles and walks into Philips arms. They start dancing and she looks at him while she sings the lyrics to their song, “I Need You.” Chloe: You’re the hope that moves me To courage again You’re the love that rescues me When the cold winds rage And it’s so amazing ’cause that’s just how you are And I can’t turn back now ’cause you’ve brought me too far I need you like the water Like breath, like rain I need you like the mercy from heaven’s gate There’s a freedom in your arms And it carries me through I need you As Chloe finishes singing the last word of the song, “you,” she looks at Philip and her lips are pursed and look poised for a kiss and Philip can’t resist. His lips attach to hers in a long, sensual kiss. To be continued. Tomorrow’s chapter is rated M for mature audiences …
