I wish Chloe had told Xander the truth. What Brady is doing is not okay and I don't like the idea of Chloe being alone with him.

I wish Chloe would have told Xander what was really going on. This is where her “handling” it has gotten Brady so far. At least now she’s trying to get him to go to a meeting.

Seriously? I love Brady to death but he was way out of line and Chloe has no business carrying him to a meeting by herself. I'm glad Xander walked in when he did. Brady has obviously hit a new low. He's going to need more than just a meeting.

Hello friends! Thank you as always for reading and commenting all week. We've got a drama-filled week coming up. Here’s a sneak peek.
-JJ and Gabi have their first date and they seem to be hitting it off, but it doesn’t end well.
-Chloe is determined to help Brady, but he’s out of control.
-Melanie frets, wondering why Brady didn’t show up for their date and why she can’t reach him.

I really think Chloe needs to get Brady outside help. This is not going to end well.
I'm curious about Gabi and JJ's date.

I'm worried about Chloe. She should have asked Xander to take him home or to the meeting. Clearly Brady is completely out of control.
I'm looking forward to Gabi and JJ's date.

Chapter 231 At Chez Rouge on Sunday night, JJ ordered a steak and Gabi was finishing her chicken cordon bleu. “Wanna dance?” JJ asked. Gabi looked toward the dance floor. There was just one couple dancing, a much older couple. “This isn’t my kind of music.” “What’s your kind of music? We can always request it.” “I prefer Latino music, but it’s a much faster tempo and those two old people on the dance floor would get a hernia. Or a heart attack.” “Then I guess we need to slow dance.” He set his napkin on the table and stood up. He held his hand out and Gabi rolled her eyes, but she took his hand and let him lead her to the dance floor. There was something about Gabi’s beauty, femininity and spirit that brought JJ’s testosterone to the surface. He felt emboldened and he pulled her close to him, placing both hands on the small of her back. She clutched his shoulders to keep her balance. Because she was wearing a top that plunged all the way down in the back, he found himself touching her bare skin and it excited him. He ran his thumbs along her skin as they rocked back and forth. She tried not to look into his eyes, but when she finally did, she told him, “You’re a cute kid.” “Cute, yes. but I’m no kid. I’m a 26-year-old man. How old are you?” “I’m 26 too but I’m an old 26. Mamita always says I have an old soul. I’m very ambitious and JJ, I should let you know that you’re not my type. I don’t date blue collar workers.” Recoiling, he blinked rapidly and tried to recover from the blow to his ego. “Wow. Snob much?” he shot back. “It’s not that. It’s just that I’m trying to build a certain kind of image—a reputation, and you’re an emergency medical technician. You don’t fit the image, you know?” Undeterred, JJ smirked. “Gee. Thanks for letting me know,” he uttered with total sarcasm. “You wanna pay the dinner check?” “JJ!” A woman called out. JJ looked up and realized that the older couple that was dancing nearby was Doug and Julie. They approached JJ and Gabi. “JJ, my darling. I didn’t recognize you all dressed up like that.” JJ released Gabi when Julie grabbed his face in her hands and kissed his cheek. “Hi Julie. Doug.” Julie eyed Gabi up and down. “Who’s this person and is she good enough for you?” “Excuse me?” Gabi sounded indignant. “We’re figuring that out,” JJ answered. “Fair lady, you wouldn’t think any girl was good enough for our JJ,” Doug added. “Very true, my love.” She turned to Gabi again and shook a finger at her. “We’ll be watching you.” Then she took Doug’s hand and led him away. “Dinner’s getting cold.” “Who the hell was that,” Gabi asked. “Your grandmother?” “Not exactly. An older cousin of my mom’s.” He smiled seductively at Gabi and took her in his arms again. “But enough about them. Where were we?” He leaned closer and kissed her lips. Gabi gently pulled back, but continued holding onto him. “You move fast.” “I see no reason not to. I need to dazzle you before you finish crushing my ego.” He was about to kiss her again, but she leaned away without releasing him. “JJ, like I said, you’re cute. You’re nice to look at and—” “Shallow much?” he teased. “Okay, okay. I’m going to break my own rule. I wouldn’t mind spending time with you, despite your being beneath me, but we can’t get serious. That would be a disaster.” He raised his brow. “I just had a flashback to 8th grade English Lit. I think Darcy said that to Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice.” “See. You even read chick lit.” She ran her index finger over his lower lip. “That makes you kind of irresistible.” His eyes darkened with desire. “Good to know. I’ll use you for a reference when I find a real woman,” he zinged her back. “Ouch. That wasn’t necessary.” “Look, Gabs.” “Gabs?” “In case you haven’t figured it out, I’m extremely attracted to you.” He rubbed his nose against hers. “And even if it’s just this once, I’d really like to spend the night with you.” “You’ve got some nerve,” she told him, but her tone of voice and her facial expression didn’t match her words. Gabi’s lips curved into a smile. “Pay the bill, Mr. Darcy.”

No, Julie, Gabi is not nearly good enough for JJ. What he sees in her is beyond me. She's so shallow and obnoxious. His attempts to win her over were cute, though.

Chapter 232 It was nearly 10 p.m. on Sunday night and Chloe was driving toward Brookville. There was an AA meeting at 10:30 that they should have no trouble making. Brookville was no more than a half hour away and the traffic wasn’t bad.
The street lights and oncoming headlights reflected off the windshield of her Lexus SUV as she passed the Horton Town Square and headed toward the freeway. Brady’s head bobbed against his chest while he slept in the passenger seat beside Chloe. She was actually grateful for the quiet instead of hearing him arguing with her that he didn’t want to go to a meeting. This move was long overdue. She should have done it sooner, or gotten help. An intervention maybe. It stunned her that Marlena and John couldn’t make any headway with Brady, but Brady could be as stubborn as a mule and nothing anyone says would help. Chloe pressed her foot on the brake as the light turned red in front of her. Brady’s head jerked up when they came to a stop. He looked around disoriented. “Where am I?” He turned to look at Chloe. “Where are we?” “We’re on our way to Brookville.” “What for?” “We’re going to an AA meeting.”
“I’m not an alcoholic. Drug addict, maybe.”
“From what I’ve seen these past few months, you’re both.” “Come on, Chloe. You know I don’t want to go.” “Sorry Brady, but I stopped caring about what you want. You refuse to help yourself despite the fact that you have a small son whose mother is in rehab, making you his sole parent and guardian. I’m sorely disappointed in you. And in myself for letting this go on all summer.” After all these years, Chloe finally understood why Victor shuffled Brady off to rehab when they lived in Vienna. It was the right thing to do. “I would think you’d want to help yourself.” “I do. I will.” He spoke so sincerely it was almost believable. He took a swig from a flask. She glanced over. “What are you doing? Give me that flask.” She reached for it and he held it away. The car started to drift into the next lane when she took her eyes off the road. “Brady. Stop playing games. Give me that flask.” She steered the car back into her lane. He secured the cap and tossed the flask into the back seat. “Sheesh. You’re acting like a child.” Brady stared out the passenger side window. “This is not the night I planned,” he grumbled. “Well it’s certainly not the night I planned either. I was looking forward to a nice, quiet, relaxing evening by myself.” He turned toward her and stroked her cheek with one finger. “Well, we could actually salvage the night. I’ve got a couple ideas.” He leaned closer and draped his arm over her midsection. She elbowed him. “Hey,” he shouted. “You coulda cracked a rib.” “I’m driving over here. I’d like to get us to Brookville in one piece.” Undeterred, he leaned over again and nibbled on her ear. “Brady! Cut it out.” She jabbed him with her elbow again. “Come on, babe. Don’t pretend there’s not still something between us.” He leaned close again, unbuckled her seat belt and started to fondle her. “Brady!” she shouted. “Stop it, dammit. I’m driving a 4-ton vehicle and you’re being an idiot.” She thought about pulling over, but they had just passed the square and there were no shops or gas stations in sight. Considering the way Brady was behaving, pulling over on a dark road was probably not a good idea either. She wasn’t scared earlier, but she was starting to feel scared now. She needed to get them to the meeting or somewhere safe as fast as possible, so she stepped on the accelerator while trying to fend him off. Chloe’s eyes went wide when Brady gripped the steering wheel for balance as he continued to nuzzle her neck. “Brady, let go of the steering wheel!”
Brady leaned closer and all of a sudden his foot was on top of her foot — the one that was controlling the gas pedal, and he was practically pressing it to the floor. “Brady! Get off me. Your foot is on top of mine.” She tried to move her foot from the accelerator to the brake but he had it locked in place. So she stepped on the brake pedal with her other foot but it didn’t stop the car. Instead it caused the car to lurch and vibrate wildly. She tried jabbing him with her elbow again but he was leaning against her shoulder now, immobilizing it. She found herself hoping this was just an intense nightmare but it felt too real. Tears filled her eyes as fear filled her mind. Her heart was racing so fast, she was afraid it would explode. How did she get into this situation? Now more than ever, she wished she’d told Philip about Brady’s addiction. He would have stepped in and even if she didn’t like his actions or reactions, she probably wouldn’t be in the position she found herself in right now.
She needed to stop the car and get help, but with Brady holding tight to the steering wheel she couldn’t even steer the car off the road if she wanted to. She didn’t have her phone because Brady grabbed it from her at the mansion. She didn’t even have an identification. She glanced at the OnStar emergency button on her rear-view mirror. She wasn’t sure what good it would do to press it, but more than that, she was afraid to release the steering wheel. She eyed the cruise control switch, thinking that would solve the problem, but when she started to reach for it, the car began to swerve. So she quickly clutched the steering wheel again. Right now, she was in a tug of war for control of the car and it felt like Brady was winning. Up ahead, she could see bright headlights coming toward them. It appeared as if a car was heading in the wrong direction in her lane and it was speeding closer. “Oh my god. Brady, let go of me! Let me steer! You’re going to get us killed,” she shouted. She hit the brake as hard as she could, but it was too late.

Oh no! I'm really scared for Chloe and the baby. I knew she shouldn't have tried to deal with Brady herself!
