Chapter 19 OUTSIDE THE APARTMENT J.J.: You can tell me anything, Ceri. I want you to know that. CERI: Okay. Here it goes. I like girls. J.J.: Well, so do I. Girls are cool. CERI: You don't get it, do you? I like girls the way that most girls like guys. J.J.: Oh. Gotcha. CERI: So, that's why it would never work between us. J.J.: I see. You know, that's nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of girls like other girls that way. CERI: I know. It's just...people come out at different times to different people. I'm not ready for everybody to know just yet. So, I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anybody. J.J.: Of course I won't. CERI: Thanks. You are a nice guy, Jack. I think that, if I liked boys, I would have liked you. J.J.: Thanks. CERI: I, uh...I think I do know of someone who you could try dating. Someone who likes you a lot. J.J.: Really? Who? CERI: I think you know who. J.J. thought for a moment. J.J.: Well, you know, I thought I saw something there when I first met her. Maybe if I get to know her a bit, it'll turn into something. CERI: She'd like that a lot. J.J.: But how am I gonna sing to her? There aren't any songs with her name in it. CERI: Yes, there are. Ever heard of the album Rumours? J.J.: The Fleetwood Mac album? Yeah. But, what does that have to do with anything? CERI: Well, the album, nothing. But think about the band Fleetwood Mac and think about the person we're talking about. J.J. thought for a moment. CERI: I'll give you a hint: the song includes the lyrics “rings like a bell through the night” and “she rules her life like a fine skylark”. J.J.: Oh, yeah. I got it now. BASKETBALL COURT Philip walks onto the court. Nicholas is already there. NICHOLAS: Thought you weren't gonna show, Philly. PHILIP: Oh, I've been waiting for this for a long time, Nikki. Nicholas and Philip both ripped off their shirts and walked towards each other. Philip proceeded to punch Nicholas in the face several times. PHILIP: That's for sleeping with Chloe. Another punch. PHILIP: That's for having an affair with my mother. Another punch. NICHOLAS: Okay, my turn. Soon, the two were having a full on fist fight. After a few minutes, they stopped for a breather. PHILIP: So, we're clear? NICHOLAS: Yeah. We're clear. PHILIP: Great. The two shook hands and walked back to the Apartment.

I'm glad that Ceri told JJ the truth. Loved the Fleetwood Mac references. I'm shaking my head at Philip and Nicholas. I guess that's a man way to settle their feud. I'm a little foggy trying to get past the two of them shirtless. LOL

I wasn't at all expecting them to be duking it out on the basketball court. I thought they were actually going to play basketball! I hope that's out of their systems.
I can't help but wonder whether Ceri and JJ were talking about the same girl. It seemed to take JJ a really long time to catch on to what Ceri was saying about the Fleetwood Mac song Rhiannon. Interesting.
Thanks for the chapter, Andre!

Is there something wrong with me that I pictured that basketball scene with the 2 of them all sweaty and with their shirts off? HAWT!!!

Chapter 20 PENTHOUSE It was now the next day. Well, really, the next evening. Marlena and Sydney were standing in the hallway. MARLENA: You lied to me. Sydney clapped. SYDNEY (Stryker): Well, good for you, Dr. Marlena. At first I thought, “nah, there's no way this lady could find me out”. But, you did. Good job. MARLENA: So, tell me why. Why would you do that to Sydney? SYDNEY (Stryker): She was gettin' too close to the truth. I had to stop her before she found out too much. MARLENA: And you thought that causing her physical harm was the best way of doing that? SYDNEY (Stryker): I will admit, my methods were imperfect. But, at least she never found out the truth. MARLENA: This truth you keep referring to, what is it? Sydney laughed. SYDNEY (Stryker): Yeah, like I'm gonna tell you? MARLENA: Well, Stryker, whatever you say in here is confidential. Technically, you are my patient and I took an oath to keep things said in here between doctor and patient. So, go on. Tell me the truth. Sydney smiled. SYDNEY (Stryker): All right. Here's the truth. Sami didn't murder E.J. THE PIER – FLASHBACK E.J. s standing at the edge of one of the docs. A ten year old Sydney stands in front of him with a gun. Sami is watching from behind a wooden crate. E.J.: What are you doing here, sweetheart? SYDNEY (Stryker): I came here to get my revenge. E.J.: What do you mean? SYDNEY (Stryker): Here's the thing, DiMera, I never forget. I remember everything. All the times you've hurt Sydney. All the times you've caused her pain. Both physically, mentally, and emotionally. You know why I'm even around? Because Sydney needed someone to protect her. And, I gave her that. Congratulations, E.J. You created me. And now, you're gonna pay. Sydney held the gun up in front of E.J. E.J.: Sydney, put the gun down. SYDNEY (Stryker): Never. E.J.: Listen to me, Sydney! Put the gun down! SYDNEY (Stryker): No way. E.J.: Just calm down. I can make this all better. SYDNEY (Stryker): No, you can't! No one can! Especially not you! You did this to me! To her! But, I am gonna make sure that you can never hurt Sydney ever again! E.J.: What? What are you talking about? Sydney pulled the trigger five times. Five bullets went into E.J.'s chest. E.J. collapsed and fell off the dock and into the murky depths of the water.PENTHOUSE SYDNEY (Stryker): Sami didn't murder E.J. But, I did.

Wow! I wasn't expecting that. So Sami knows what happened and went to prison to protect her daughter. Poor Sydney to have been so hurt that she was already suffering from DID at age ten. I can hardly wait to see what happens next. Great job Andre!

OMG, I got chills when I read that. How sad that Sydney was driven to multiple personalities, one of which killed her father. Now it makes sense why Sami is in jail. That is the ultimate sacrifice.

I bet Sami though didn't know about Sydney's personalities when she took the blame. Wow Andre!

Chapter 21 OUTSIDE PHILIP & MELANIE'S APARTMENT As he was last night, J.J. is standing outside the window of Ceri & Rhiannon's bedroom. Also, like last night, he is singing. Except, this time, he is singing a different song. J.J. (singing): ...rings like a bell through the night and wouldn't you love to love her? PHILIP & MELANIE'S APARTMENT Rhiannon was reading a book. After a moment, she put the book down. RHIANNON: Do you hear that? Ceri was lying on her bed, looking at stuff on her laptop. CERI: Hear what? J.J. (singing, faintly, VO): ...taken by the wind. Would you stay if she promised you heaven? CERI: He's not singing for me this time. RHIANNON: How do you know? CERI: Listen to the song, Rhian. J.J. (singing, faintly, VO): ...rules her life like a fine skylark... Rhiannon sat up. RHIANNON: I'll be back. Rhiannon ran out of the room. OUTSIDE THE APARTMENT J.J. (singing): All your life, you've never seen a woman taken by the wind. Would you stay if she promised you heaven? Will you ever win? Rhiannon walks out of the apartment and walks up to J.J. J.J. (singing): Will you ever win? Rhiannon. Rhiannon. RHIANNON: Hi, J.J. J.J.: Hey. How are you? RHIANNON: Great. You? J.J.: Pretty good. Rhiannon and J.J. smiled at each other. RHIANNON: You know the words to the song. J.J.: Yeah, well, I had a little help learning the ones I didn't know. Rhiannon laughed. J.J.: So, that movie you wanted to see with me a couple weeks ago, what did you say its name was? RHIANNON: I didn't. It's a re-release of the 1976 version of “Carrie”. I guess this is the 50th anniversary of when it came out, or something like that. J.J.: That's cool. Good movie. Didn't take you as the kind of person who'd like horror films, though. RHIANNON: I don't, usually. But, I've heard a lot of good things about it. J.J.: Is it still in the theaters? Rhiannon nodded. J.J.: What are you doing tomorrow? RHIANNON: Nothing important. J.J.: If you're still interested in going, I'd love to see it with you. RHIANNON: Really? That'd be awesome! Rhiannon hugged J.J. RHIANNON: Thanks! J.J.: You're welcome. I'll pick you up around six. We'll have dinner and then go see the movie. RHIANNON: Sounds great. I'll see you then.
