She could be possessed but with her history, I think she has a split personality disorder instead. But it would be funnier being possessed because of what Marlena went through... Thank goodness at least someone besides Allie knows Syd needs help now.

Chapter 11 SALEM PLACE J.J. was walking around Salem Place. After wandering around for a few minutes, he saw Ceri. J.J.: Ceri! He walked up to her. CERI: Oh, hey Jack. J.J.: Hey. How are you? CERI: I'm good. You? J.J.: Great. So, how do you like Salem, now that you've been here longer? CERI: It's great. J.J.: That's good. That's really good. So, um, would you like to go out sometime? CERI: Jack, we've already discussed this. You're a really nice guy from the few times I've met you. But, I'm not your type. J.J.: Yeah, I know we've discussed this. But, you know, Hope Springs Eternal and all that. CERI: What? J.J.: Nevermind. CERI: Look, like I said, you're a nice guy. But, trust me on this one. It's not you. It's me. J.J.: Well, talk about a line. CERI: Eh? J.J.: It's one of the most cliched dumping lines in the book. CERI: I'm sorry, Jack, but I can't go out with you. Ceri walked away. J.J. continued walking around Salem Place. After a little while, he met up with Rhiannon. She was very happy to see J.J. RHIANNON: J.J.! J.J.: Hey, Rhiannon. How's it goin'? RHIANNON: Pretty good. J.J.: That's good. What's up? RHIANNON: Oh, you know, lookin' around Salem. I love it here! This place is awesome! J.J.: Cool. I'm glad you're liking it. Rhiannon started playing with her hair. RHIANNON: So, there's this one movie that's been re-released in theaters that I've heard is really good but I've never actually seen. It's supposed to be really cool. And, I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go see it with me this Friday? J.J.: This Friday? RHIANNON: Yeah. J.J.: Ah. I'm really sorry, but I've already got plans for this Friday. Rhiannon stopped playing with her hair. She tucked a strand back behind her ear. RHIANNON: Oh, okay. Maybe some other time? J.J.: Yeah, we'll see. I have to go. I'll see you around. RHIANON: Oh..okay. J.J. walked away. Rhiannon sighed. It is apparent that Ceri hadn't gone too far, as she appeared next to her sister a minute later. CERI: So, you've met Jack too, huh?

Poor JJ. Give Rhiannon a chance, boy! Still wondering why Ceri doesn't think she's his type.

Chapter 12 PENTHOUSE SYDNEY (deep voice): Shut up! What're you cryin' about? Sydney looked over at Marlena. SYDNEY (deep voice): Who the hell are you? MARLENA: I could ask you the same thing. Because you certainly aren't my granddaughter. SYDNEY (deep voice): Oh, I got it now. You're Sydney's grandma. The shrink. I suppose her nosy older sister's come to you to try and “fix” her. She don't need any fixing. I'm protecting her just fine. MARLENA: Well, it's as I thought. DID. SYDNEY (deep voice): What the hell is that supposed to mean? MARLENA: What's your name? SYDNEY (deep voice): Huh? MARLENA: You look like the granddaughter, Sydney, but you have a deeper voice and a different personality. What's your name? SYDNEY (deep voice): Stryker. MARLENA: Okay, Stryker. What gender are you? SYDNEY (Stryker): Man, you sure are somethin', I'll tell you that. Exactly like what Sydney's been tellin' me. Oh, she's told me all about you, Doc. The grandma who pretends to be all warm and loving, but where were you when she was younger? When she got kidnapped by Anna? When Sami thought she was dead? Where were you when E.J. abused her? When Sydney got violated, where were you? Oh, but you and her mama, and Lucas didn't wanna hear about any of that! MARLENA: So, you're the protector? Is that right? SYDNEY (Stryker): It sure is. And, I think I've done a pretty good job of protectin', too. MARLENA: How long have you been around? When did you and Sydney first meet? SYDNEY (Stryker): 'Bout six years ago. E.J.'s abuse was gettin' worse by the day. She would lock herself in her room and cry for hours on end because of all the horrible stuff her daddy was doin' to her. Then, one fine day, she met me. Told me all about her daddy and everything he did to her. She told me about you and her mama and Lucas and her grandaddy, and how you all didn't wanna hear nothin' about that. Man, you lot made me so mad. And I swore to her that I would protect her from all of you. MARLENA: Those cuts on her arm, how did they get there? Sydney shook her head and walked up to Marlena. SYDNEY (Stryker): Can't tell ya. I don't know nothin' 'bout those cuts. Sydney collapsed into Marlena's arms. Marlena picked Sydney up and lied her down on a nearby couch. After a moment, Sydney woke up. Her eyes were back to normal. SYDNEY: Grandma? MARLENA:Ssh. It's all right, Sydney. I'm here. It's all right. SYDNEY: What happened? One minute, I was sitting on the couch talking to you, and now I'm lying down, and you're looking up at me like you barely know me. What's going on? MARLENA: Well...it's kind of difficult to explain. I will tell you what I know, or at least, what I can piece together. But, not right now. I think you should just lie down for right now. I need to go speak with someone. Marlena walked out of the room. OUTSIDE THE PENTHOUSE In the backyard, John and Allie were building a grill. Marlena walked onto the backyard. JOHN: Hey, Doc. ALLIE: Hi, Grandma. MARLENA: Hi, sweetheart. How's the grill coming, you two? JOHN: Great. We're almost finished. Just a few minor adjustments and we should be set. MARLENA: That's good. Well, when you do finish, come inside and clean up. JOHN: Why? What's goin' on? MARLENA: We need to pay a visit to someone.

Poor Sydney. She's suffered so much in her young life. It's no wonder she has DID. I hope Marlena can help her or find someone who can.

Chapter 13 SALEM PLACE RHIANNON: Jack? CERI: The boy you were talking to. RHIANNON: Oh, J.J. Yeah, I met him. He's really cool. CERI: He's all right. RHIANNON: I take it from your question that you've met him, too? CERI: Yeah. And, I think he likes me. RHIANNON: Why do you say that? CERI: Every time I see him, he tries to hit on me. RHIANNON: Did you tell him yet? CERI: No. I haven't been ready. RHIANNON: I could tell him, if you want. CERI: Thanks, but no thanks. I'll tell him when I'm ready. So, what do you think of him? RHIANNON: Well, like I said, he's really cool. And, he's cute. CERI: Do you like him? RHIANNON: I barely know him. But, I do kinda have a crush on him. What do you think of him? CERI: He's a nice guy and he seems sweet, but, I don't know. He seems a little too focused on trying to go out with me. RHIANNON: Well, maybe if he knew about you, he would take “no” for an answer. CERI: Yeah. I'm gonna have to tell him. RHIANNON: If you want, I can come with you when you tell him. If you want some support, that is. CERI: No. I think this is one of those things I have to do on my own. CHEZ ROUGE Nicholas and Chloe were having dinner together. NICHOLAS: How long do you plan to be in Salem? CHLOE: I'm probably going back in a day or two. Since it's summer now, Parker's going to be spending more time with Philip. Most of the school year, he spends with Daniel and me. And, I should probably get back to Daniel. What about you? NICHOLAS: I'm not sure. The girls seem to like it here, and being here brings back a lot of memories. But, I don't know. The two stared into each other's eyes. NICHOLAS: I've missed you. CHLOE: I've missed you, too. NICHOLAS: Would you spend the night with me? CHLOE: No thanks. I've got a hotel room. NICHOLAS: Oh, come on. One more night. CHLOE: Nikki, we can't. We can't go back. Things are too different. NICHOLAS: How? What's different? CHLOE: I'm a mother and a wife. You're a father. When we met, you were an up-and-coming business man and I was a nightclub singer in a failing marriage. It's over between us, Nikki. There's no going back. Nicholas leaned across the table. CHLOE: What are you doing? NICHOLAS: Come on. You know you want to. CHLOE: I... Nicholas kissed Chloe. In return, Chloe slapped him across the face, got up, and left. NICHOLAS: Well, there goes one last date.

That's obviously not the way Nicholas wanted to end the night. I will hand it to him for being straightforward about what he wanted. Good for you Chloe for not giving in to temptation.
I look forward to the girls' conversation with JJ.

Nicholas sure doesn't mince any words. He wants something, he dives in. Still curious about Ceri.
Thanks for the chapter Andre!

Previews On Monday, Marlena pays someone a visit. MARLENA: We need to talk. Marlena's chat continues on Tuesday. MARLENA: I need to see how bad this is. How far back it goes. Another of Sydney's "others" is revealed on Wednesday. SYDNEY (whispering): I'm scared. Sparks fly on Thursday as Philip learns more about Nicholas. PHILIP: You didn't. On Friday, Ceri speaks to J.J. CERI: I need to tell you something. Something I haven't felt comfortable telling anyone else.
