Chapter 3
PHILIP & MELANIE'S APARTMENT
MELANIE: Philip, what kind of issues did you have with Nicholas?
Philip sighed.
PHILIP: Well, it's...difficult to know where to begin. We grew up together. Me, him, Shawn, and Belle. And...let's just say, as two children who both grew up in wealthy families who were in competition with each other, things between the two of us weren't always civil.
MELANIE: How bad did it get?
PHILIP: Well, there was this one time when, on his fifteenth birthday (he was about three years older than me, Shawn and Belle), his father, Lawrence, bought him a car. I purposely drove it into the Alamain Mansion's swimming pool.
MELANIE: That was a bit harsh. Did he do anything in return?
PHILIP: Not for a while. Oh, he must have thought long and hard on it. He left Salem for a while. But, then, he and his precious Aunt Vivian came back. And that's when he got his revenge on me.
MELANIE: What did he do?
Watch from 3:54 to 4:30:
Watch from 6:25 to end:
PHILIP: I can't tell you.
MELANIE: Why not?
PHILIP: I just can't. Anyway, back to Nicholas' daughters. What did you say their names are?
MELANIE: I didn't. Their names are Ceridwen and Rhiannon.
PHILIP: Bless you.
MELANIE: Huh?
PHILIP: You sneezed just as you were going to tell me the names of Nicholas' daughters.
MELANIE: No, I didn't.
PHILIP: Yes, you did. I heard you.
MELANIE: No, I didn't. Those are their names: Rhiannon and Ceridwen.
PHILIP: Are you getting a cold?
MELANIE: No, I'm not getting a cold. Ceridwen prefers to be called Ceri. And, Rhiannon goes back and forth on whether she wants to be called her full name or Rhian.
PHILIP: Gotcha.
Melanie's phone rang. She picked it up.
MELANIE: Hello?
Pause.
MELANIE: Nikki, hey! What's up?
Pause.
MELANIE: Tonight? What time?
Pause.
MELANIE: Great. We'll see you then.
Melanie hangs up the phone.
MELANIE: Great news! They're coming tonight!
PHILIP (sarcastic): Joy.
BRADY PUB
J.J. and Joe were sitting at a table, having lunch.
J.J.: There are, seriously, no girls in Salem that we're not related to.
JOE: What about Allie?
J.J.: I'm pretty sure she's our cousin.
JOE: How?
J.J.: Well, her dad's Lucas Horton who's technically my mom's half-brother through my Grandpa Bill.
JOE: What about Sydney? She's not related to us, is she?
J.J.: Well, Sydney and Allie have the same mother. Her Grandpa Roman is the brother of Commander Bo Brady. Bo's wife is Commissioner Hope Brady. Hope's my mom's cousin. So, yes, in a truly twisted way, she's our third or fourth cousin, and I'm pretty sure she's been removed a few times, too.
JOE: Whoa! Ever notice how our family trees all have so many branches in them? In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if, in some weird way, our parents were our aunts and uncles, too.
J.J.: Yeah, about that...
JOE: Okay, that's a bit more information than I needed to know
