Oh no! That doesn't sound good. I don't want Chloe to be upset with Phillip. I loved my happy little Phloe family. Why oh why do you have to come and mess everything up Brady???

I do understand where Brady's coming from being concerned but as someone else pointed out, he's the one that brought her to Phillip. What did he want? Even though they've known each other a long time and have a child, I still think they shouldn't jump into marriage, especially with both of their histories. I also don't think Brady should be judging Phillip for his past b/c they've all hurt each other and it seems like Phillip and Chloe have matured enough to forgive each other and were doing so well.

THE CONDO

Chloe knocked on the door to Philip’s study.

Chloe: Hi.
Philip: Hi. So, should I break out my “forgive me” note again?
Chloe: No, but ... can I borrow it for a while?
Philip: You? Why?
Chloe sat on Philip’s desk.
Chloe: You and Brady like each other. I know you do. It’s my fault that you two became rivals years ago. You respect each other, and yet you fight like little boys over ...
Philip: Over the one thing worth fighting for ... you.
Chloe: He doesn’t want me Philip.
Philip: Oh really? Who gets on a plane just to make sure their ex is okay right after they find out she’s involved with another man ... a man who just happens to be his biggest rival?
Chloe shook her head.
Chloe: No, you’re wrong Philip. It’s not like that.
Philip: I hope you’re right, because ...
Chloe: Because what?
Philip got up from his chair and put his hands on Chloe’s face.
Philip: Because I can’t lose you. I just can’t. I won’t survive it.
Chloe: You won’t lose me, Philip. Because I can’t live without you either.
Philip lifted Chloe’s chin and their lips met in a sweet kiss. Chloe put her arms around Philip’s waist and rested her head against his chest as he stroked her hair.
Philip: So, what did you need to talk to him about that I couldn’t hear?
Chloe: When did you get so nosy?
Philip: You don’t have to tell me if it’s too personal.
Chloe: I ... I invited him to dinner.
Philip: What???
Chloe: I wanted him to see for himself that there’s nothing to worry about.
Philip knitted his brow.
Philip: I don’t have to prove anything to Brady.
Chloe: Of course you don’t. But you do want him to leave us alone, right?
Philip: Yeah. That’s for sure. So where is he?
Chloe: He’s playing with Parker.
Philip: I have an idea. I’m going to make my mom’s brownie recipe for dessert.
Chloe hit Philip playfully.
Chloe: Philip!


LATER, AT DINNER

Brady, Philip, Chloe and Parker were seated around the dinner table. Parker was in his booster seat.
Philip: How are things at HQ?
Brady: Fine. Busy. Crazy busy in fact. I need to be in two places at the same time tomorrow.
Parker: As the future Chairman of the Board of Titan, I’m warning you, Cousin Brady ... don’t mess up my company.
Philip: What do you mean?
Brady: From here, I’m heading for New York. I need to meet with Michelle from Simon and Schuster. But Mad World is having a big launch of their new men’s line and I should really be in Salem for that.
Chloe: Ew.
Philip and Brady looked at Chloe.
Brady: What?
Chloe: Mad World. They make the worst cosmetics on the planet.
Brady: That’s not true.
Chloe: Trust me, I know makeup. And I wouldn’t even want to be buried in that cheap drug-store gunk.
Chloe looked at Philip.
Chloe: Oh. Sorry. They’re a division of Titan now. So if you really need me to, I’ll use their products.
Philip smiled and reached for Chloe’s hand across the table.
Philip: I wouldn’t ask you to change even one thing about yourself.
Parker: ‘Cause Mommy’s pretty enough just the way she is.
Philip turned to Brady.
Philip: You go back to Salem for the Mad World launch. I’ll go to New York.
Brady: But you don’t travel anymore.
Philip: I wasn’t traveling because I didn’t want to leave Parker with a nanny overnight all the time. But now that Chloe’s here ...
Parker: My name! I heard my name, but I wasn’t paying attention. What did they say about me?
Philip looked at Chloe.
Philip: Would you mind if I went to New York overnight? Will you be okay by yourself?
Parker: Don’t go Daddy.
Chloe: Of course. You don’t need to worry about us. If you have business to take care of, you should go.
Parker: Don’t go Daddy.
Philip: Then it’s settled.
Brady: Well, I guess there’s hope for you yet.
Philip: What does that mean?
Brady: It means I get it. I can see why Chloe wanted me to stay for dinner. You two are good together. And you’re not as much of a jerk as you used to be.
Philip: Thanks for the back-handed compliment. So ... ready for dessert? I made brownies.

LOL about the brownies. Poor Parker not wanting his Dad to go away. Parker is right a lot of the time. I have a feeling that something is going to happen while Philip is away. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch.
