I remember when she first started on Days but the show seems to be at a loss of what to do with Hope without Bo. I'll miss her, but maybe it's time.

I'm shocked, but I do feel her character has run its course. I wish her well. From Soap Opera DigestEXCLUSIVE: It’s an end of an era for Days of Our Lives. Kristian Alfonso, one of the daytime drama’s most recognizable and longest-tenured stars, is leaving the NBC series, which she first joined in 1983. “I feel blessed and honored to have been invited into people’s homes for over three decades. However, it is now time for me to write my next chapter,” Alfonso said in a statement to Deadline. As we reported on Friday, Days Of Our Lives plans to return to production on September 1. “I will not be returning to Days when it resumes production in September,” Alfonso said. “I’ve already filmed my last episode several months ago.” Like all other Hollywood productions, Days of Our Lives suspended shooting in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the soap had traditionally been ahead of schedule and has enough originals in the can to take it through early October. That includes Alfonso’s final episode. |

I wonder if she will have an actual exit or will Ciara or Jennifer share the news that Hope left town to visit a Horton. |

Well, I like Hope and I'll be sad to see her go but I agree with you guys, the show doesn't seem to have much for her to do. Sounds like her exit was planned before the break in production. Now I'm wondering if she might leave with Rafe. The show has been putting them together a lot lately. I know they were't popular (although I always liked them) but if they're off screen, who cares?

I’m shocked but not shocked. I agree that Hope seems to have run her course but at the same time Hope is a staple character. I wish Kristen well.

I'm wondering if she was already planning to leave the show or if she decided during the pandemic shutdown. It seems odd that the news was kept quiet this long if an actual goodbye scene was filmed months ago. Usually we know about exits for months and months before they happen. I guess we'll know the answer when we see what kind of exit Hope gets.

It's true her character has been kind of aimless for awhile, although I do enjoy her friendship with Jennifer and I have liked her recent interactions with Steve and even Rafe. Even though Hope doesn't have an exciting storyline right now her character hasn't been too annoying lately and has she has been playing an important supportive role to some people. Nice write-up heroicmuse . |

I think she should have left with bo and sailed around the world rather than killing him off
There isn’t much for her anymore and it’s been flip floppy for a while so I think it’s best, I’ll be absolutely disgusted and will likely vomit if she leaves on a romantic note with rafe
Just no...... been there done that we finally got her likable again if she leaves single I’m open to a return
If with rafe I wouldn’t care less if she came back

Freddie Smith posted a short video about this on his YouTube channel. He was surprised so I guess it wasn’t common knowledge. Of course he’s been gone a while but still. He did mention that sometimes they keep these things quiet.

Soaps seem to have a hard time writing for single women. The writers were in a rush to pair Hope with someone -- anyone --- and I think that helped derail the character.
Tuesday's (7/7) show pointed out how much the vets add to the stories.
I always enjoyed Hope with Jennifer and especially, Melissa.

Here's an article that lists many of the cast members tweets to Kristian when they news broke. When this many people have nothing but nice things to say about you, I think it speaks to your character.

Honestly, I think we need a break from Hope for a while. They haven't really done anything with her character and frankly, she's been a bit boring. My first thought was that the show would have her leave with Rafe. I wasn't a fan of them together but the writers sure seem to be with what they've been doing with those two lately. If these writers are fans of Hope's I'm sure they will write it in a way to where she can come back if she wants.
