…all these mentions of Philip lately might be heralding a return of the prodigal son?
He hasn't been mentioned in ages, except for a random comment here or there, but this week, he's been mentioned a lot. I hope he returns. Obviously my favorite wish would be for Jay Kenneth Johnson to return as Philip, but if it's not him, I hope it's someone good.

That would be awesome and, as much as I'd like Jay Kenneth Johnson to return, I don't want to get my hopes up.
When Brady said he wouldn't let Kate steal his legacy, I immediately thought that it should be Philip's legacy before it's Brady's and wondered if he might be headed back to Salem.

I haven't tuned in in quite some time. A Phillip return could possibly change that. A Jay Kenneth Johnson return would most DEFINITELY change that!

The last guy was horrible I actually nicknamed him the village idiot

I know JKJ said he didn't want to come back, but a girl can hope that he's changed his mind. After the last recast, I'm scared for the writers to try to bring anyone other than JKJ in as Phillip.

Personally, I’d like to see Philip back regardless who’s playing him. I’d actually like to see John-Paul Lavoisier get another shot, as I don’t think he was all that bad. Then again, it could be Kyle Brandt or Brandon Tyler (the first person to play Philip as a high schooler). Really, though, if he does come back, whoever’s playing him, it would be nice to see him.

I actually preferred John Paul Lavoisier. Whoever plays Philip, I'd be happy to have him back IF they write him properly. The current writers don't have a great track record with writing beloved characters the right way.

I thought maybe I was the only one that didn't think John Paul Lavoisier was that bad. He grew on me over time and was sad when they let him go. I too wouldn't mind the character returning and as others stated, written correctly.

Plus with Philip being back...there wouldn't be that much for the character to do...yeah sure he can go up against his nephew Brady for control of Titan but love interest wise, who can you put Philip with? There's Chloe but she's in the DiMera orbit with Stefan and also Brady has her attention. There's Gabi who's also in the DiMera orbit, Nicole or Sarah she's probably gonna need a love interest but not a lot of women in Philip's age group or there's Lani. Or unless you bring back someone for Philip.
Yeah sure he has his parents Victor and Kate in town as well as his brother Rex but what else would he have going for him?

I really wish they could convince JKJ to come back and that he'd actually care after the initial excitement wore off -- I could always tell when he got bored or disdainful of the show. From everything I hear, he is not coming back anytime soon.
I didn't hate JPL, either, but I'd totally take another recast. I keep thinking Jacob Young (formerly Rick on B&B) would fit so well in this role.
